Super Gene Ⅱ: Evolution

Chapter 701 701

"We're dead!" Little Star exclaimed upon seeing nothing but pitch-black night before her, her face turning green with fear.

Others might not understand the peril of Secret God Star, but Little Star was all too aware.

It didn't matter that she was currently immobilized— even if she had been free to move, arriving at Secret God Star during the night meant certain death.

Perhaps it was psychological, but in this darkness where she couldn't see her hand in front of her face, Little Star felt as though countless monsters were gaping with opened maws, ready to swallow her whole at any moment.

Suddenly, Little Star saw a white glow illuminate a small area before her.

"What's that?" she exclaimed with surprise and delight. The darkness of Secret God Star couldn't be lit up by just any light.

Upon closer inspection, she immediately realized Lin Shen was holding her with one hand and clutching what looked like a rough-hewn bow in the other. The soft white glow was emanating from that bow.@@novelbin@@

Little Star caught a clear view of the bow and was taken aback, "How did the Sun-shooting Bow end up in his hands? No wonder he didn't die in Secret God Star, but how did he get this bow?"

Lin Shen discerned his direction and then rapidly made his way towards the Mountain God Temple.

He had asked Wei Wufu to wait for him there and, unless something unforeseen happened, Wei Wufu would surely not leave.

"Don't just run off. Even with the Sun-shooting Bow, Secret God Star is not a place you can just barge into," Little Star cried out.

"Think hard about how you want to get out. If we can't leave, then you'll have to stay here with us," Lin Shen said, bringing her along to pressure her into revealing another escape route, if there was one.

"How many times do I have to tell you before you believe me? I only know the way out through the gate of Celestial Court, that's the only way. If you don't believe me, you can look for yourself," Little Star said through gritted teeth.

Lin Shen ignored her and continued towards the area where the Mountain God Temple was located, and indeed, he saw a cluster of white light from afar - it was Wei Wufu holding the Jade Decree.

Wei Wufu, seeing Lin Shen, came forward to meet him. After they met, Wei Wufu looked at Little Star, whom Lin Shen was holding, and was slightly surprised.

Little Star was even more astonished to see Wei Wufu.

She had thought that only Lin Shen had survived; unexpectedly, the other Fu hadn't perished either. As for the Jade Decree in his hand, Little Star couldn't discern its origin.

"It says there's no other way out except through the gate of Celestial Court," Lin Shen told Wei Wufu. "If it really comes down to it, you should undergo Nirvana here. After that, we can leave together by ascending the Jade Level and exit through the gate of Celestial Court. At worst, if we have to start over after getting out, the resources we have now are more than enough, and it won't take much time to rebuild."

With that, Lin Shen handed Wei Wufu several God-making Eggs, including one made of Immortal material.

Since Wei Wufu no longer had a chance to undergo Nirvana at the ancient temple and could only choose the path of Minor Nirvana here, that Immortal Level God-making Egg was the best option.

If he decided not to rebuild, then he would use that one to undergo Nirvana; if he planned to rebuild, he could use one of the other God-making Eggs for Nirvana.

"Get out, to where?" Wei Wufu asked, frowning.

"Back on our homeworld," Lin Shen replied. Right now, he couldn't afford to worry about the details. Getting Wei Wufu out was the priority.

Now that there is the path from Gourd Mountain, Nirvana Beings will no longer be trapped on their home planet, and whether they achieve Nirvana outside or not doesn't greatly affect Wei Wufu.

Wei Wufu then took the God-making Egg and was about to put it in his mouth, but Lin Shen stopped him.

"Little Star, think carefully, if you tell us the way out now, I can still spare your life. However, if we manage to leave on our own, you'll become worthless, and I'll leave you here to fend for yourself," Lin Shen said, holding Little Star.

"I really only know that one path. Even if you kill me, I can only say the same. If I told you I knew other paths and then there weren't any, you would be even less likely to let me go," Little Star said helplessly.

"Since that's the case, you can fend for yourself here," Lin Shen said as he threw Little Star onto the ground, then turned to Wei Wufu. "The night is too dangerous, let's wait till daylight for Nirvana." Continue your saga on My Virtual Library Empire

Wei Wufu nodded, and the two sat down to wait for dawn. After that, Lin Shen told Wei Wufu what had happened after entering the gates of the Celestial Court.

Little Star, who was lying on the ground unable to move, also heard Lin Shen's words. After listening, it was greatly shocked, "What did you say? You only saw a White Jade Bridge behind the gates of the Celestial Court? That's not right. Are you blind? Within the Celestial Court are pavilions, towers, and exquisite Jade Edifices, such paradises are hard to find in the universe. And you are telling me there's just a White Jade Bridge with a Jade Statue hanging on it? Who are you trying to fool?"

Lin Shen ignored it and said to himself, "Now the only way is through Nirvana; there's no other option."

"That's… fine…" Wei Wufu didn't really care whether he took the path of Great Nirvana or Minor Nirvana, as long as it was sufficient.

Seeing that Lin Shen was ignoring it, Little Star closed its mouth and stopped talking.

The Celestial Court appeared in the sky once again, just like before, replaying the images of many creatures attempting to ascend the Jade Levels.

It continued until dawn, after which the Celestial Court and the numerous challenge-attempting creatures all disappeared, and the ancient mystery returned to its previous state of temple ruins scattered everywhere.

Without any reaction from Little Star, Lin Shen stopped Wei Wufu from using the God-making Egg for Nirvana and walked up to Little Star with the Scrap Sword in hand, making Little Star's heart skip a beat.

"What… what are you going to do…" Little Star sensed that something was wrong and asked Lin Shen with a hint of panic.

"I have a good heart and can't bear to leave you here alone to suffer, so I'll see you off," Lin Shen said as he held Little Star down and began to file its shell with the Scrap Sword.

"I've told you everything you want to know. You cannot break your word," Little Star screamed.

"I'm just a despicable person who likes to break his word. Remember my name when you die—I wouldn't want you to get it wrong when you go to complain to Yama," Lin Shen rasped determinedly, with colorful powder occasionally scattering from the snail shell.

No matter what Little Star said, Lin Shen continued to file away as if he hadn't heard anything. Before long, he had made the previous mark more and more prominent.

"Sigh… I say… stop your hand… let's talk this through… I really don't know… that… Shen… your ancestor… say something, will you…" Little Star, seeing more and more colorful dust flying around, and a layer already settling beside it, was so heartbroken it could barely breathe. Still, Lin Shen paid no attention to it, prompting Little Star to nearly want to kowtow to him in desperation.

This snail shell of Little Star's was not just any shell but one that had been specially modified and was difficult to repair once damaged.

This thing was so robust that even Immortal Level strength found it hard to damage. Little Star didn't know how Lin Shen could possess so many terrifying things that could even harm its shell.
