Lin Shen watched as blood-red threads of light spilled from Ouyang Yudu's body, forming a Nirvana Light Cocoon that enveloped him, yet Lin Shen's heart was somewhat uneasy.

He had long known there was something amiss with Ouyang Yudu's body, but what that thing inside him was remained a mystery.

That Ouyang Yudu could use the thing inside his body to achieve Nirvana showed that its origin was undoubtedly extraordinary.

For several days straight, Ouyang Yudu lay still within the blood-red Light Cocoon.

The Celestial Court had conducted a sample identification of the Divine Statue, and the results had confirmed its authenticity.

The Celestial Court awarded Lin Shen a Special-class Celestial Medal, marking only the second time in the history of the Celestial Race that they had issued such a medal to a member of the Other Races.

Under normal circumstances, the Celestial Race would not bestow the Special-class Celestial Medal on individuals from Other Races, regardless of how extraordinary their feats might be.

Lin Shen's receipt of this medal was largely due to his accomplishments, preventing the Celestial Race from trading seven planets for a fake Divine Statue and instead retrieving the real one for a price of three planets. These events, combined with the influence of Emperor Tianshu, earned him the Special-class Celestial Medal.

Chi Jiu and others who had been with him also received the medal.

Lin Shen had no objections; as a foreigner, he did not belong to the Celestial Race and felt no unfairness.

Perhaps it was because Lin Shen had never considered himself a part of the Celestial Race that he could maintain such a positive mindset.

Days passed, and the blood-red Light Cocoon remained silent, unusually so.

Lin Shen would have preferred some sign of activity within the cocoon, if only to be assured that Ouyang Yudu was not encountering any problems.

The complete lack of movement worried Lin Shen that Ouyang Yudu might have perished silently within.

Ouyang Yudu's Nirvana process had unexpectedly gone smoothly; by the ninth day, the cocoon began to dissipate strand by strand, gradually revealing the form of Ouyang Yudu, who had completed Nirvana.

Yet when Lin Shen saw Ouyang Yudu, he was taken aback.

The figure of Ouyang Yudu he saw was shrouded in pixelated blurs, as if covered in a mosaic.

"What the hell is this? Ouyang Yudu undergoes Nirvana and ends up with a mosaic covering his body?" Lin Shen stared, shocked, at Ouyang Yudu. He rubbed his eyes several times, but all he saw was the thick mosaic.

This completely shattered Lin Shen's understanding of things; the only time he had seen such a pixelation on a person was with the Heaven Defying Bone.

But it seemed like the Heaven Defying Fire Seed only appeared on beauties; why would it appear on a man like Ouyang Yudu?

Could it be that Ouyang Yudu was so exceedingly handsome that the Fire Seed could no longer distinguish whether he was male or female?

Then there was another possibility that made Lin Shen worry.

If something inside Ouyang Yudu's body had taken over, and if the mosaic appeared because of that thing, then Ouyang Yudu's current state was very bad.

If that were the case, Lin Shen didn't know whether he should honor Ouyang Yudu's request to end his life.

"Ouyang?" Lin Shen tentatively asked.

"I've done it," Ouyang Yudu replied with a smile.

"Do you know who I am?" Lin Shen asked again.

"Don't worry, it's me; I've completely merged it," Ouyang Yudu said.

Lin Shen still didn't dare to be careless and asked Ouyang Yudu a lot of questions.

He didn't intend to discern whether it was the real Ouyang Yudu from the answers, because the thing inside Ouyang Yudu could likely know everything that Ouyang Yudu did.

Lin Shen was asking so many questions to figure out from his personality and way of speaking if this was truly Ouyang Yudu.

Different thoughts would mean differences in character and speech; even if pretending, it would be impossible to achieve a perfect impersonation. With Lin Shen's understanding of Ouyang Yudu, it wouldn't be difficult to determine the truth.

Fortunately, it was still the same Ouyang Yudu, which relieved Lin Shen, though he was puzzled as to why Ouyang Yudu would have a Fire Seed.

Lin Shen had always believed that the Fire Seed was a fixed trait, presumably innate to a certain being or thing.

However, the Fire Seed on Ouyang Yudu broke that notion.

Clearly, the Fire Seed might not necessarily be innate; it could also manifest later in life.

"Is the Fire Seed on Ouyang Yudu the Heaven Defying Bone?" Lin Shen thought this wasn't really a question—by spending a night with Ouyang Yudu, the answer would naturally be revealed.

Lin Shen looked at Ouyang Yudu, opened his mouth to speak but suddenly found himself at a loss for words.

He had thought it wouldn't be difficult to bring up such a topic, as Ouyang Yudu was a man, and they knew each other so well that it should have been easy to manage.

But when it came to actually speaking, Lin Shen found that asking a man to sleep with him seemed even harder than asking a woman.

"Just say what you want to say, why are you hesitating?" Ouyang Yudu asked, puzzled.

"Well... you're not busy tonight, are you?" Lin Shen said hesitantly.

"Just tell me what you want," Ouyang Yudu replied with a smile.

"Could you join me for a drink tonight? I feel like getting drunk," Lin Shen said, diverting from his original intention.

"Sure," Ouyang Yudu agreed immediately, without demanding a reason.

Lin Shen told Ouyang Yudu to wait while he went out to buy alcohol; he wanted to find something that could get a Nirvana Being drunk, preferably to the point of unconsciousness.

Believe it or not, Lin Shen actually found such a drink.

It was more of a concoction made from Base Mutation Fluid rather than a simple liquor.

"Daydream... eighty-eight thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight coins per bottle... bought it..." With gritted teeth, Lin Shen bought a case, fearing a single bottle wouldn't be enough to intoxicate Ouyang Yudu.

"With my Evolution Theory, I can develop a resistance with just a few drinks; by getting Ouyang Yudu to drink more, I'm sure I can knock him out," Lin Shen thought, elated, as he carried a case of Daydream back home.
