Chapter 857: Chapter 857: Moon Rabbit Statue

Lin Shen browsed through the marketplace, buying quite a few odd trinkets whose uses could not exactly be explained—he just found them fun.

Fortunately, for Lin Shen, the prices were not considered expensive; they were small things costing only a few dimes, so they didn’t amount to much money.

It was just that Lin Shen himself was particularly playful, and he bought a lot of these novel items that he had not seen before, and unwittingly spent two or three hundred dollars.

There were so many things in the cosmos that Lin Shen had not seen before, which gave him a feeling of longing for more.

These unvalued items had no set price, as the selling price wholly depended on the seller’s mood, and buyers did not have any reference prices to compare.

Lin Shen showed the toys he bought to Xiao Yu, but Xiao Yu just sneered, “You are childish, don’t think everyone else is like you. If you want to play, play by yourself. I’m not interested.”

...

Lin Shen didn’t mind and started to study the toys on his own. Some of these were primitively hand-made from basic planets, others were industrial products of small races, and some were high-tech products, seemingly printed directly from Base Mutation materials using a certain device.

Printing wasn’t copying; it directly used holographic images as data, enabling the printing of items identical to those in the holograms from Base Mutation materials.

One of the items Lin Shen bought was a purple crystal mini statue, printed from Nirvana materials. The blueprint for the print seemed to be a Moon Rabbit Clan member, but the printed statue was scaled down proportionally to only the size of a palm and looked very beautiful.

The statue depicted a Moon Rabbit Clan woman in armor holding a strangely shaped broadsword, creating a cute contrast between her delicate appearance and the eerie weapon.

Lin Shen was attracted to this printed statue because it reminded him of Yun.

Yun had also weathered several storms on Giant Ring Star, but fortunately, she was unscathed.

Mainly because Lin Shen had given her a box of skills which she diligently practiced, mastering many to the extent where her combat strength became exceptionally strong among her peers, allowing her to preserve her life.

Lin Shen bought this Moon Rabbit Clan statue intending to give it as a gift to her when he went to teach her the skills.

After all, passing on so many skills would be arduous for Yun, and each activation of Valkyrie Protection would consume a significant amount of energy.

Furthermore, Lin Shen had another plan: to help Yun advance to Nirvana Level, allowing her to comprehend the Law Power, then use Valkyrie Protection to pass on her comprehended laws to him. Wouldn’t that mean he could comprehend various laws and study Tie’s Lawless Heaven?

Lin Shen was uncertain whether this would work and planned to ask Yun. If it was achievable, he would find a Nirvana Land to help her achieve Nirvana.

As Lin Shen played with the Moon Rabbit Clan statue, he suddenly felt that something was off.

This item was printed and should not have any gaps or blind spots.

However, Lin Shen noticed a barely visible gap at the juncture where the tail met the body of the Moon Rabbit Clan statue. The round tail obscured the gap, and without looking from a specific angle, it would be impossible to notice the seam or almost invisible gap.

“How come the Moon Rabbit Clan statue is printed, yet the tail isn’t integrated with the body? Did the seller lie, or is it not actually fully holographically printed, or is there another reason?” Lin Shen was curious, held it in his hand, and studied it for a while yet found nothing amiss.

Had it been anyone else, they might have let it slide since it wasn’t anything significant, and the statue was quite beautiful—the material was indeed Nirvana material, which usually wouldn’t give rise to further curiosity.

However, Lin Shen had a strong spirit of exploration; he was no stranger to tampering with things since he was young.

At this point, unable to decipher it, he was unwilling to let it end there and suddenly summoned the Inheritance Fan, transforming it into a Light Sword, and slashed directly at the middle of the Moon Rabbit statue.

He intended to split the statue in half to see what its internal structure looked like.

Clang!

When the Light Sword struck the buttock of the Moon Rabbit statue, a loud clang was heard, and the Light Sword was blocked.

“Is there something inside?” Lin Shen was slightly surprised.

Although the Light Sword transformed from the Inheritance Fan wasn’t considered a Divine Weapon, ordinary Nirvana materials were no different from wood under its blade.

The Moon Rabbit statue was easily cleaved open, which proved the sharpness of the Light Sword, but something was blocking it, evidently, there was something inside made of a different material than the Moon Rabbit statue.

Driven by increasing curiosity, Lin Shen continued to carve open the Moon Rabbit statue with his Light Sword. The parts that could be shaved off were all removed by Lin Shen, quickly revealing something embedded inside the buttock of the statue.

“What is this?” Lin Shen picked out an embedded bead and scrutinized it closely.

When he first saw this object, he thought it was Reincarnation Ashes and thought he was about to make some money.

But upon closer inspection, he realized it was not Reincarnation Ashes.

Lin Shen had seen enough Reincarnation Ashes, which were blackish like coal nuclei, and lacked the flux characteristic of Nirvana Power and Reincarnation Ashes.

“What exactly is this thing, is it just used as a counterweight?” Lin Shen squeezed it, discovering that this coal-like object was extraordinarily hard—he kept increasing force and it remained undamaged, even though he was capable of crushing Immortal materials.

Disbelieving, Lin Shen exerted force once more, and to his surprise, he actually crushed the coal-like object.

A tiny object smaller than a fingernail fell out of the shattered black residue.

“Fuck… What kind of chip is this? It’s not used for secret surveillance or espionage, is it? Hidden inside the Moon Rabbit statue, that would be too sneaky.” Lin Shen pushed aside the black residue and discovered a delicate chip of unknown function, which reminded him of sneakily filmed AVI devices.

This made Lin Shen suddenly alert; he quickly checked all the items he had bought to ensure they weren’t implanted with monitoring devices.

After a thorough check revealed nothing, Lin Shen was still uneasy. Upon returning to Giant Ring Star, he had someone use devices to scan and detect.

If there were any monitoring devices, they wouldn’t be difficult to detect.

“Mr. Lin Shen, looking at this chip, it doesn’t seem like a monitoring device, but more like a storage chip, only it’s a bit different from normal chips; it’s an unseen technology with a different interface,” said the technician responsible for the inspection, examining the chip in Lin Shen’s hand.
