Super God Grandmaster

Chapter 20 - 20 18 Qiao Haoyu

Chapter 20: Chapter 18: Qiao Haoyu Chapter 20: Chapter 18: Qiao Haoyu Some of the fireworks exploded on Qiao Haoyu, leaving a sulfuric smell on him. Haoyu’s eyes were wide open.

“I haven’t seen you for six months. Why the sudden burst of refinement to visit tonight?” Young Master Ze asked.

“Hehe, I didn’t come because of any refinement, I came to find Yu Qing.” Suddenly he switched his mood, saying, “Qing’er, why didn’t you tell me you were coming, so I could have gone to meet you.”

Yu Qing replied: “Senior Brother Haoyu, why make a fuss about meeting me?”

Haoyu came with Dongfang Tang, who was about the same age as him and a die-hard follower.

“If it weren’t for the fireworks, I wouldn’t have known that you’re here. I was anticipating your arrival tomorrow,” Haoyu said.

Yu Qing laughed: “The weather was good so I managed to come quickly.”

“You should’ve told me anyway.”

“Oh, stop bothering yourself about it, I hope Senior Brother Haoyu is doing fine.”

“I think of you every day.”

This shameless guy, always thick-skinned even when everyone is watching him, thought Young Master Ze.

“Senior Brother always likes to joke,” Yu Qing replied.

“If I had known, I would have thrown a grand reception for you. Isn’t this quite shabby?” Qiao Haoyu deliberately belittled Young Master Ze’s lack of effort.

“What do you mean?” Jingxing asked.

“I am saying, shouldn’t we have a grander party, rather than this shabby get-together?”

Jingxing really felt like hitting him.

Yu Qing quickly said: “No, don’t go to so much trouble, it’d be extravagant, I couldn’t bear it.”

“Why do you say that? I was thinking of letting the whole of Immortal City join in the fun.”

Yu Qing said: “Since you came to see me, Senior Brother, come in then.”

Haoyu glanced at Zhan Ze and chuckled, “Junior Brother Zhan Ze, you wouldn’t object, would you?”

Zhan Ze let out a frosty chuckle.

“Well then, I won’t be brash. I still have a lot to chat with Junior Sister Yu Qing about. If not for the harsh winter, I would have visited her already.” The Dongfang Tang behind him followed suit, even pushing away Ye Chen who obstructed his entry.

“How have you been doing recently, Senior Brother?” Yu Qing asked.

“Me? Not so good, perhaps it’s infatuation.”

“This guy really doesn’t feel embarrassed,” Jingxing muttered.

“Well, you went through so much effort for all this. But if it were me, I would directly create a grand garden. Definitely more grandeur than here.” He glanced at Zhan Ze and said, “Ze, you won’t be upset with me for saying this, will you?”

“How dare I.”

Yu Qing said, “You must be hungry, let’s eat something.”

Jiang Shizi came over with a laugh, “What wind blew you here?”

“Of course, it’s the spring breeze.” He turned to Dongfang Tang and said, “Let’s eat.”

The atmosphere suddenly cooled down.

Haoyu added: “Yu Qing, since you visited Zhan Ze tonight, tomorrow night, I hope you would do me the honor of visiting me.”

“Tomorrow night?” Qing’er paused.

“Indeed, since you’re visiting here tonight, you ought to visit me tomorrow night. Otherwise, it would be improper.”

“I’ll have to see if I’m free tomorrow night,” Yu Qing said.

“Then consider it a promise. I’ll start preparing when I get back. Don’t break my heart, it’s easy to shatter.”

“Oh, don’t make it so complicated.”

“Of course, if you’re up for it, we could have a date – just the two of us.”

“Hehe, Senior Brother loves to tease me,” Yu Qing chuckled.’
Zhan Ze murmured, “Really no shame.” If it wasn’t for Qing’er, he would have blown up by now.

Qiao Haoyu chattered on and on, but at this point, Zhan Ze and his folks stayed quiet, just watching him. Haotian also didn’t say anything. Time slipped away, nearly an hour had passed.

Haoyu seemed to feel a bit embarrassed, having achieved his goal, he stood up and said, “Okay, I’ve said what I wanted to say. Be sure to come to my compound tomorrow, otherwise, I’ll wait for you all night.”

“Senior Brother, you don’t need to go to so much trouble.”

“No trouble, you are from Demon Palace, coming to our Immortal City. It’s proper for your Senior Brother to greet you.”

Zhan Ze and the others didn’t bother with him.

“Well done, but the courtyard is a bit too small, really stingy.” Haoyu stood up.

Yu Qing led him out.

The mood was completely ruined by Haoyu’s antics.

Zhan Ze was still somewhat conscious that Yu Qing had agreed to go to Haoyu’s place.

Yu Qing asked, “What’s wrong? Why isn’t anyone speaking? Did I do something wrong?”

Shizi said, “They’re worried for you.”

“Worried about me? What’s there to worry about? You’re not afraid that Haoyu would ‘eat’ me, are you? That wouldn’t happen!” While speaking, she chuckled a bit. She was considering whether or not it would be awkward to refuse, and asked, “Are there any more fireworks? Can we continue setting them off? I would love to appreciate them for a while longer.” She wanted to use this as an excuse to break the somewhat stagnant atmosphere.

Shizi quickly nudged Zhan Ze, who stood up. Although slightly affected, he did not want Yu Qing to be unhappy and said, “Haotian, let’s continue setting off the fireworks.”

Ye Chen also joined them.

“Damn Haoyu, he really knows how to create trouble.” Shizi said.

“What happened?” Yu Qing asked.

“You know very well that Zhan Ze really dislikes Haoyu.”

“Yeah, so what’s the issue?”

“But you still agreed to go over to Haoyu’s place tomorrow night.”

“Hey, could I have refused? After all, he’s my Senior Brother. I’m a guest here. If I’d refused, how would that have looked? We’ll inevitably meet each other again in the future.”

“You’re right, but you agreed too easily.”

“What do you mean ‘easily agreed’, and what does ‘not easily agreed’ look like? If I were to come here and not visit him tomorrow night, he’d take it as me looking down on him.” Yu Qing said.

Shizi sighed, at a loss for words.

Yu Qing stood up and said, “Haoyu isn’t as bad as you guys make him out to be. He’s just a little mischievous. I can’t just not do everything that Zhan Ze dislikes, can I!”

Over there, Zhan Ze was making a commotion, saying, “Hey, look, we’re starting again.”

Whoosh…whoosh… four or five fireworks flew out and once again broke the silence within the courtyard.

“I’ll set some off too.” Yu Qing walked over, seemingly having forgotten about the Haoyu incident.

Zhan Ze said, “Be careful not to burn your hand.”

“Hmm, I won’t, don’t worry. I’ve done this before.”

Still, Zhan Ze carefully protected her, genuinely afraid that she might get hurt.

Neither of them mentioned the Haoyu incident, but how could Zhan Ze possibly forget? He was wondering how to handle Yu Qing visiting Haoyu tomorrow night. He had to take action.

They continued to light the fireworks until they were all gone, finally making the place quiet again.

Yu Qing took a deep breath, saying, “Well, I’m guessing you all want to rest.”

Everyone slowly stood up.

Zhan Ze said, “We’ll walk you home.”

Yu Qing nodded her head, saying, “I had a great time tonight. Thank you for preparing all of this, I really enjoyed it.”

That was indeed the response Zhan Ze most wanted to hear. He smiled like a fool.

Haotian said, “You’re welcome to stay with Zhan Ze if you’d like.”

But Yu Qing responded, “That’s not right. Besides, all my stuff already moved to Shizi’s place.”

“I can have someone move your things over here. It’ll be easy.” Shizi said.

“Are you really trying to force me to move?”

“I’m just trying to create opportunities for you two.” Shizi laughed.

Under the lead of Zhan Ze and Ye Chen, they walked out of the courtyard.

Yu Qing said, “But there are several pots of flowers that I really like.”

“I’ll have someone move them to Shizi’s place tomorrow.” Young Master Ze said.

Shizi laughed, saying, “Just don’t bring them all over. If you do, I won’t have room in my courtyard.”

Upon hearing this, Zhan Ze chuckled.

The party didn’t stop until they had escorted her into Shizi’s courtyard.

Zhan Ze took out a box and handed it to her. The box was bound with a butterfly knot and he said, “This is for you.”

Yu Qing quickly accepted his gift. Shizi looked at it with envy and said, “Hehe, why won’t you give me one too?”

Zhan Ze laughed and said, “Maybe next time.”

“You’re the one who said it.” Shizi laughed.

“Alright, we won’t bother you any longer. You must be tired after so many days and we’ve been up very late tonight.”

“Go home. You all must also be exhausted after such a long day.” Yu Qing said.

“Hmm, I’ll come to see you again tomorrow.”

They quickly bid her farewell.

Yu Qing and Shizi went into the courtyard.

Shizi seemed impatient and said, “Aren’t you going to open it?”

They sat in the pavilion, and Shizi carefully untied the butterfly knot. Inside were two crystal rabbits, thumb-sized and on a white tile. Their eyes were black, one lying down eating, the other looking up. They were lively and looked absolutely adorable.

“They’re so cute.” Shizi exclaimed.

Yu Qing smiled faintly.

Over there, Luo Rui was saying, “Yu Qing, you should change your clothes, or they’ll really start to stink.”

“I know, help me pick out a dress and I’ll be right there.” She stared enchanted at the two adorable rabbits, two rabbits snuggled together. One seemed scared, perhaps curious, looking around as if on guard, the other lazily eating.
