“So after you bath in Heavenly Lake, we should drink from it, right?” Shi Zi asked.

“I want to paint.” Qing’er said.

At this moment Shi Zi said: “I will accompany Yu Qing.”

“For you to come along, what are you planning to do, give her a back rub or a massage?” Hao Tian said.

“It’s none of your business.”

The burning sun was baking the earth, everyone ate some food, and time flies. Unconsciously, the sun starts to drift west.

There were few towering pine trees on this hilltop, not much protection against the hot sun. Plus, this location was on the crest of the hill, very ventilated, so it didn’t feel stuffy.

Zhan Ze woke them, saying, “Should we roast mushrooms or catch birds? You guys wake up and decide. I didn’t bring you guys here to sleep.”

“I just want to sleep, I don’t even want to eat.” Hao Tian said.

“Well, we only have two to three hours for free time. After that, even if it’s not dark yet, we need to head down the mountain. Otherwise, we won’t make it before it gets dark.”

Enjoying herself and appreciating the scenery in the mountain, Shi Zi followed Yu Qing to the rear mountain. The rear side of the mountain connects with another hill through a long ridge.

“Should we set up traps first?”

“Are we hunting?”

“Well, we have to stay here for two to three hours. If we set up traps, we might be able to catch something like pheasants. After setting the traps, we can roast some mushrooms.”

Ye Chen chuckled after hearing that.

Bi Chun said, “You should tell me which mushrooms can be picked and which ones are poisonous!”

After giving Bi Chun a brief introduction, Ye Chen went with Zhan Ze to set the traps.

Ye Chen said, “I still believe it would be better for you to join Yu Qing. There will be plenty of opportunities to learn about setting traps. I can teach you slowly in the future. The opportunity to be with Yu Qing isn’t that frequent.”

Unconsciously, more than two hours passed.

Zhan Ze was amazed and said, “I never thought there’d be so much to hunting.”

Zhan Ze laughed after hearing this.

Ye Chen laughed and said, “So that’s what you’re thinking!”

Zhan Ze responded with a silent smile.

“Better get the hang of it first. If your trap doesn’t catch any prey, you might become a laughingstock.”

Zhan Ze laughed again.

“Come on, let’s get on with some actual practice,” Ye Chen said.

Haotian and Jingxing headed towards the Heavenly Lake. After being exposed to the morning sun, the water in the lake was no longer so cold and was just at the perfect temperature for a bath. Added to that, they were tired after having worked all morning. The cool water was irresistibly enticing.

“Nothing beats a good soak,” Haotian said.

“I hope those girls won’t come over,” Jingxing said.

“With your physique, they probably wouldn’t even bother looking.”

Jingxing laughed at this.

The area around the Heavenly Lake was filled with bamboo. It was a real treat to gaze up at the sky, listening to the wind whistling past and the rustling sound of bamboo leaves.

“We must come up here for baths often,” Haotian said.

“As if you’re that diligent.”

“This is what it means to face the mountains and embrace the blooming flowers. It’s worth dying to have this.”

Below the mountain, the bamboo forest surged like green waves, one after another.

The sound of some animal calling drew their attention. Jingxing asked, “What’s that?” He had heard there were unclean things in the mountains and wasn’t sure if it was true or not.

“These two really went ahead and took a bath in the pool.” She suddenly picked up a stone, aimed, and threw it into the pool.

A huge splash erupted. Jingxing, in his daze, didn’t know what was happening. They were just talking about demons.

Jingxing was so frightened he started yelling about demons coming.

Shi Zi covered her mouth and laughed.
