Chapter 795: Chapter 789: Are these damned interstellar pirates? (Part One)
Jasmine Davis was feeling a little gloomy and puzzled, she began to question, “We pirates live on the edge of our blades, our escape skills and brains should be top-notch. But why do I suddenly feel like my IQ is lacking when you talk about it?”
“Haha, boss, don’t worry. I can answer your question.” One of Jasmin Davis’s old crewmates chuckled and said.
“Go ahead.”
“In fact, I noticed this on Earth. Many books on the planet are quite enlightening. They say that when your opponent is always a fool, your IQ will soon be dragged down to their level, and you don’t even realize that you’re becoming stupid yourself.” The crew member said with another round of laughter.
“Shut up.” Jasmine Davis glared at him. The more she thought about it, the more she realized it made some sense. Damn, who knew the idiots who used to chase us weren’t smart enough? She suddenly shuddered. If there was a Lucy Watson type among those pirates who initially targeted Finn Lewis and her warship, they would most likely have never escaped.
But now, the tide has turned, and the enemies are the ones who are screwed. Just as Jasmine Davis was about to say something, the main control brain on the bridge buzzed to life.
“Warp energy fluctuations detected, 652 kilometers out, enemy’s appearance countdown 10, 9… ” As the main control computer’s voice resounded, everyone took a deep breath.
Jasmine Davis was immediately alert, “Charge the main gun, deploy all auxiliary shells, prepare the close-range defenses, and activate the shield,” she quickly relayed her commands to the three warships.
At that moment, a glowing sphere of golden energy appeared about 600 kilometers in front of the three first-class warships. Following this, a small fleet appeared in the desolate space. The warship’s radar instantaneously sounded an alarm.
Mussel Evans’ fleet was not as strong as the remnants left by Milo. He only had one warship and three reconnaissance destroyers. Although he also had two transport supply ships, their cannons could only fend off the ordinary Small Interstellar Pirates, so their firepower was insignificant.
However, in Mussel Evans’ eyes, even though he only had one main battleship, he had never heard that small interstellar pirates would own a main battleship, Mussel Evans was not worried at all.
He led his fleet directly to the jump, but before they could recover from the light of the jump, the emergency alert from the main control brain completely filled the command cabin.
“Warning, warning! Detecting main gun charging energy fluctuations, a large number of space torpedoes, detecting three unknown warships, according to scanning results the enemy’s warships are first-class battleships, the number is three. Warning, according to energy readings, the shield will not withstand the enemy’s main gun attack.” The harsh voice of the main control brain continued to ring.
Shortly thereafter, Mussel Evans looked up at the hologram above the command ship. The holograms of the three warships appeared right in front of them. Mussel Evans was greatly shocked looking at the data, he had only one feeling, “F*ck, how is this possible!”
Mussel Evans almost popped his eyes out, he thought to himself, ‘This is pirates he’s dealing with, are you telling me interstellar pirates have a first-class warship? I mean even for the Nine-Star Aristocrats, a first-class warship is hard to come by.’
However, the hologram on the warship and the video footage depicted a large skull, the pirates’ logo. When Mussel Evans saw this logo, he couldn’t help but cringe. ‘Damn, aren’t you the Black Rose Space Pirates? Why would you put up a skull? Is this supposed to be a rose?’.
This little misunderstanding could not be blamed on Lucy Watson, who thought that pirates were supposed to hang a skull to show their identity. So, she just did it. Lucy Watson didn’t tell Jasmine Davis about this, so she naturally assumed that Jasmine Davis didn’t care about the little changes that Lucy Watson made.
And thus, this beautiful misunderstanding was born. But these were just side issues.
“Captain… The enemy… They are trying to establish communication,” the communications officer stuttered.
“Ah, patch them through.” Mussel Evans sighed exasperatedly, realizing he can’t escape now, “Send a message to Milo, have him evacuate ASAP.”
“Jump calculations are complete, coordinates confirmed.”
“Alert G2 fleet, prepare to capture the enemy. Also, prepare G3 and G4 for action and inform them of the latest coordinates if the enemy tries to escape.” As she sent a communication request, Lucy Watson deftly issued new orders to the entire fleet.
As his adviser for a while, Lucy Watson had already established her standing in the team with her hundred percent victory rate in simulation battles, no one comes close to that, therefore, her orders were quickly executed even by Jasmine Davis’s old team members.
Just as the communication between the two forces was established, Lucy Watson, looking at the commander on the screen, faintly smiled and said, “It seems you’re not completely stupid, at least you’ve left half of your fleet behind to capture us, right? But don’t worry, they will soon be joining you. You have three seconds to choose: surrender or die. After three seconds, my main cannon will fire. Three…”@@novelbin@@
After saying this, Lucy Watson started the countdown. Despite the confusion written on Mussel Evans face, she didn’t wait for him to understand and carried on her countdown. In the time Mussel Evans snapped back to his senses, Lucy Watson was already down to 2.
“I surrender! I surrender! Order, entire fleet to lower shields, cease main gun charging, turn off the engine.” Afraid that Lucy Watson might reach the final countdown, Mussel Evans yelled into the communication channel. Having relayed his orders, every person on the bridge transmitted quickly to the other warships because they had no choice. It was three first-class warships they were facing, even if it was just one, their whole fleet couldn’t have stood a chance.
What do you think?
