Chapter 801: Chapter 796: The Indigenous Counterattack_1

“Your Highness, it’s nothing, this design work is very simple,” Yu Cooper immediately spoke up. For these scientists, especially those working under Finn Lewis, their level of confidentiality is very high, they are privy to many details, and the projects they are devoted to can only be realized under Finn Lewis. Therefore, Finn naturally wouldn’t be afraid of them betraying or anything like that.

To tell the truth, there’s no one else on Earth right now who has the means to tempt them into betraying. “Your Highness, the design of these warships is not very difficult. We disassembled several of the so-called second-class and first-class warships we obtained from the Galactic Federation, and after examining their blueprints and capabilities, I can only say that I don’t know if these are the best within the entire Galactic Federation, but such design, how should I put this—forgive my arrogance—is simply crap.”

Yu Cooper’s first sentence left Finn Lewis somewhat astounded; he hadn’t expected Yu to give such an evaluation of the other side’s design. However, Finn didn’t comment but instead waited for Yu to continue his introduction.

“In fact, Your Highness, in terms of technology, although we have made improvements, for this, we rely on the help of Nicolas. I must say, he is a truly great scientist, and he is in no way inferior to the historical Nicolas Tesla!” Yu Cooper praised without hesitation, of course, he would not know that the Nicolas Tesla he was referring to was that very Nicolas Tesla.

“We have made some improvements on the technical side, but most of the technology we actually haven’t improved that much. This means that such designs could indeed be done by the Galactic Federation, but they haven’t done so. Setting aside other points, Your Highness, you are probably aware that the combat capabilities and other strengths of these warships are quite similar. The real difference lies in the warp drive, which determines the performance of a warship.” While saying this, Yu immediately pulled up an image of a warship for Finn Lewis.

As soon as the warship appeared, it captured Finn’s attention. It was shaped like the Chinese character for “earth,” with the central vertical stroke representing the main body of the ship, while the two horizontal strokes were mostly engines. However, the horizontal stroke at the bow not only contained engines but also housed two Secondary Guns that were no less powerful than the main guns of the ship.

“The other capabilities are basically on par with the primary firepower of the Galactic Federation’s first-class warships, so I won’t dwell on them too much. What I mainly want to introduce to Your Highness are the improvements in warp technology,” said Yu, hastening to his point.

“First, Your Highness, regarding the cooling aspect of the warp drive, we have not solved that. Of course, whether it can be solved in the future is not for us to say—we are not experts in this field. But with the current performance of the engines, we can already obliterate most of the warships of the entire Galactic Federation. However, these are not the most important things. The most important are the improvements we’ve made to this warship,” Yu began to explain.

“Firstly, the initial improvement is, we examined the designs of most of the Federation’s warships and found that these ships use their own warp drives. While that is certainly possible, a warp conduit can actually be kept open and maintaining it consumes only slightly more energy. Therefore, our new design lets a warp drive achieve two effects.”

“The first is just like most of the Federation’s warships, directly opening a warp conduit for warp travel—no difference there. The second, however, is that our designed warship, when executing warp, can leave a warp conduit open after its creation without performing a warp, allowing nearby warships to travel through the conduit it creates. It can enter last, thus enabling an entire fleet to warp using just one warship.”

Upon hearing this, Finn was momentarily taken aback, then it all clicked. This was the same as what Finn had seen when he first received a fleet that he purchased from Caleb Shaw. The difference was that Caleb used dedicated warships to establish the warp conduits, while now, his own team had integrated the functionality directly into any warship.

This meant that one warship could enable an entire fleet to perform warp jumps. While each ship in the fleet had cooldown times for its warp drive, a fleet is naturally not just one single warship. If they rotated the use of the warp drives, such maneuverability would completely outclass all of the Federation’s ships.

“Additionally, we designed another set of warp drives. A warship is equipped with two sets of warp drives, but the second set does not emphasize the distance of warp jumps, but rather the precision and speed. The maximum warp distance of these warp drives is about one light-year, but within that distance, the cooldown time for warp is just about 1 minute of prep time.”

“Also, their warp precision is extremely accurate, to the point where they can accurately warp within a planet’s atmosphere, although this still needs to be tested. The original intention of designing this second set of warp drives was to enhance battle capabilities. Because in fleet combat, neither the main guns nor any other means of attack can be too distant—most occur within a range of one light-day.”

“Within this range, this set of smaller warp drives is designed for fast and precise warp maneuvers, allowing ships to either dodge enemy main gun attacks or pursue the enemy. Of course, such warps do consume a lot of energy, but it’s entirely within acceptable ranges.”

“These points pretty much sum up the improvements to the warp drive in our warships. However, according to our calculations, if warships built this way were to engage the current first-class warships of the Federation, ours could completely crush them,” Yu quickly declared.

Finn listened with satisfaction. To be honest, if Finn had anything to criticize about the Federation’s warships, it would be the warp drives, or rather that they seemed too outdated. But at least from the current point of view, it wasn’t the engines that were outdated, but rather that there was something wrong with the designers’ heads.

At least, even though the warp drive was an improved version, such a design now greatly increased the maneuverability of the entire spaceship. No, it should be said that the maneuverability increased geometrically, and naturally, combat capabilities also increased tremendously.@@novelbin@@

“Very well, that’s excellent. I hope you will keep up the good work. We need not only warships but also other types of spaceships. Keep striving.” Finn immediately said with a smile, “Regarding the rewards for you, someone will notify you shortly.”

After terminating the video conference, Finn did not hesitate to ask, “Luna Starfield, has this been calculated?”
