Chapter 829: Chapter 824 Activation (Part 2)_1
The Aitken Family’s economy could only be described as average, so there were not many Gene Warriors in the Aitken Family. They had only 20 million active duty Gene Warriors and an additional 30 million sealed and cryogenically preserved, ready to be deployed at any moment. Finn Lewis’s target this time were these Gene Warriors.
The minds of these Gene Warriors were filled with injected knowledge, including those who were cryogenically frozen; though their bodies were in a frozen state, their consciousness was active, existing within a virtual mental world similar to the Luna Starfield Network.
Finn Lewis’s fleet appeared directly outside Star Harbor after a warp jump. Finn had already acquired all the rights and privileges over the Aitken Family’s territories, so everything here belonged to Finn. Luna had long since taken over the base’s defense system, and when Finn arrived, an officer promptly came forward to greet him.@@novelbin@@
“Your Highness, my name is Matthew Carlos,” said the officer, giving Finn a military salute with respect. He certainly knew who now held the supreme ownership of the entire territory, and Finn’s series of actions had already made him a staunch supporter of Finn. As for the Aitken Family, well, they could go wherever they were meant to go. He was done serving them.
Hearing Carlos’s name, it was clear he was not from the Aitken Family. Hence, Finn smiled, nodded, and said, “Officer Carlos, you have worked hard. I will need your assistance with the affairs within the territory from now on. Someone will contact you regarding the governance of the entire territory. The military will operate outside of the official sector; these two are no longer part of a unified system.”
Only by keeping the military out of politics could the purity of the entire army be ensured.
“Activate all the Gene Warriors and have them all assemble,” Finn ordered straightforwardly.
“Yes, Your Highness,” Carlos did not ask why, because it was of no concern to him. Since Finn wanted to activate so many Gene Warriors, there must be a need for them. These Gene Warriors had various uses; they could serve as mobile combatants attacking planets, as well as operate space fighters and mechas on warships.
These Gene Warriors could be said to be incredibly excellent soldiers. Each major family had a group of such elite Gene Warriors, and the main forces of each family’s soldiers were composed of these Gene Warriors.
However, they carried out dangerous missions and operated in hazardous positions. For Star Harbor, assembling so many Gene Warriors was not a problem at all. Although the Star Harbor was only of a medium size, it could still dock more than 10 first-class warships, an additional twenty second-class warships, at least twenty large transport ships, as well as a hundred ports for various other types of warships.
Star Harbor was like a colossal structure floating in space, and such a port could be considered a super city, capable of accommodating hundreds of millions of people. However, it generally did not house that many people, as the port was built directly in space, with all supplies being transported there.
The logistics supply was a tremendous figure. Although the cargo capacity of a first-class transport ship was enormous, just consider that the food and drink for hundreds of millions of people needed to be transported here, not to mention weapons. From this, one could understand the tremendous pressure on logistics. Maintaining the normal operation of such a Star Harbor required at least five first-class transport ships.
However, this was not an issue for Finn. Although Finn did not have many first-class transport ships, he could buy them. Though they were almost twice, or even one and a half times bigger than a first-class warship, first-class transport ships had very little defense capability and required very few crew members, hence, they were not expensive. Their price was only about half that of a first-class warship.
Finn waited an hour before all 50 million Gene Warriors had assembled and were activated. Finn’s vantage point was a high platform. Below him, on the vast square, there were now 5 million Gene Warriors present, and there were a total of 10 such levels.
The Gene Warriors at Finn’s level could see him, and those on the levels below could also see Finn. These Gene Warriors were arrayed in tidy squads of 10,000, such as the group standing in front of Finn, made up of noticeably different physiques.
“Your Highness, this squad and the ones behind are Gene Warriors who have undergone gene fusion with bear DNA. They possess immense strength, three to five times that of a normal human, and are typically equipped with heavy weaponry. In the middle here, we have those fused with cheetah DNA, their speed, agility, and response capabilities among others are quite superior. Naturally, their strength is also greater than that of a normal human,” Carlos explained the genes within these Gene Warriors to Finn—bears, leopards, wolves, and various other animal genes were all present. However, what slightly moved Finn was that the genes Carlos mentioned were all from animals commonly found on Earth.
They were not genes from animals that Finn had never heard of. Although Finn didn’t know why—perhaps the same animals existed on other planets too—he didn’t ask, and Carlos likely wouldn’t know either, as Finn’s previous research showed that Gene Warrior technology had existed in the Galactic Federation for over a million years.
The exact reason wasn’t something Carlos could fathom.
“Ladies and gentlemen,” Finn nodded and then gestured for Carlos to turn on the speaking device in front of him. Finn then addressed all the warriors below.
With a “swish,” there was the uniform sound of saluting.
“I am here to announce a decision,” Finn spoke, pausing, then continued, “As of today, I will destroy all Gene Warrior production lines within my territories. We will no longer produce any Gene Warriors; that’s the first point. Second, I will release the Gene Lock within all of you, meaning as of today, you will have lifespans just like ordinary people.”
Finn said this, and there was silence below, not a sound to be heard. He paused, then continued somewhat helplessly, “Thirdly, I will grant you the same civil status as other humans, meaning from today on, your rights and responsibilities will be the same as other human residents in my territories, without any difference. No one is allowed to discriminate against Gene Warriors. You will have your welfare guarantees, your salaries, and your own identity documents.”
What do you think?
