Chapter 516 Turned into a Monster
"You smell like her perfume..."
Suming's mind got a bit muddled, and he suddenly remembered the tune of that bewitching song, even humming along subconsciously for a couple of notes.
He twitched his nose a few times, and the scent grew stronger, evoking an indescribable feeling.
The perfumes sold on the market, even the high-end ones, inevitably carry a hint of chemical odor, and if applied too liberally, they can be overpowering rather than pleasant.
But the fragrance he was smelling now didn't have this issue, although it was intense, it caused no discomfort whatsoever.
What was going on?
"Come out, come out, stop hiding in there. Don't you always tell me to come? I'm right at your doorstep and you two are still hiding. What's going on?" To figure out what was actually happening, he needed to consult the two Queen Bees. In this Hundred Flowers Valley, these two were the bosses.
Suming stood under the big tree, curling his hands into a megaphone shape, and started yelling at the tree above.
The two beehives above were so large they were almost frightening to look at, resembling two big sleeping bags. Suming figured that if the beehive openings were a bit larger, he could curl up and fit inside himself.
After calling out, the two beehives began to tremble slightly in succession, as if something was about to crawl out from within.
The two Queen Bees finally showed themselves.
"I... am... damn!"
Seeing the two familiar Queen Bees, Suming's eyeballs almost fell out, his mouth gaped wide open, and he had the weirdest expression possible.
Never would have thought you Queen Bees would be like this!
It had been half a year since he last saw them, and the growth of these sisters was astonishing! The last time he saw them, the two Queen Bees were only about as big as newborn kittens or puppies, which was rare enough among bees, even unheard of!
And now, both Queen Bees were at least half a meter long!
Their round and plump figures resembled miniature bombs, with fittingly full 'Yingying' waistlines. Ridiculously small wings adorned their sides as they slowly 'flew' down from the treetops, hovering midair in front of Suming, their four pairs of compound eyes staring into Suming's own.
Not only had their size changed, but their 'looks' had undergone significant transformations too.
Mi Hou's body used to have some faint dark stripes, which had now completely vanished. Apart from her legs and wings, most of her body surface displayed a light golden color similar to honey – at first glance, she looked like a bee wrought from pure gold, regally rich.
In contrast, Hu Hou's body was predominantly dark, especially the band-like patterns on her abdomen, they shone with a glossy blackness!
The black patterns on a wasp's body are a direct indicator of their venom's potency; seeing these patterns, Suming couldn't help but frown, suspecting that Hu Hou could now probably kill a full-grown elephant on her own.
She couldn't just be called Hu Hou anymore, better to call her Poison Queen.
After half a year, one turned into a blinged-out gold, the other into a dark-hearted dame!
The scent he had detected earlier was exactly what was emanating from the two Queen Bees.
No, that's not right... How can they fly? Suming saw their small wings vibrating at a high frequency, and that's when it suddenly hit him: Queen Bees are too large and, since they don't need to collect nectar, are incapable of flight! Not only had these two grown larger, but had they also acquired new skills?
"Buzz... buzz..." The two Queen Bees circled around Suming, one on the left and one on the right. Probably because of their heavy bodies, sustained flight also posed a significant strain on them, and they slowly landed on the grassy ground.
Suming also sat down and took a careful look at the two queens. In terms of size, the Queen Bee actually appeared slightly smaller. Mi Hou had come from behind and was now evidently larger.
Animals that had come into contact with spiritual power all underwent certain 'mutations': they became stronger, smarter, and more human-like, but these mutations were generally not too dramatic and stayed within the range of what ordinary people would find acceptable.
However, the mutations on these two Queen Bees seemed incredibly exaggerated. Suming thought that honeybees the size of mineral water bottles were somewhat terrifying; now that they had grown so massive, ordinary people would probably wet themselves on sight.
If this trend continued, wouldn't these two creatures become the size of tigers in a few years? What on earth would that be? Some kind of alternate species?
Changes in physical size were one thing, but the changes in intelligence and personality also left much to be desired. Other animals became more intelligent while retaining their species' traits – for example, wolves remained aloof, tigers dominant, pandas dumb – and didn't become human-like despite increased contact with spiritual power;

These two Queen Bees, on the other hand, were developing in a 'human-like' direction. Initially, when Mi Hou was alone, she clearly exhibited human-like female-dependent emotions and even had 'ambitions of supremacy', establishing an organized gang to take over other bee colonies within Hundred Flowers Valley...
Now, a deeply melancholic mood clearly emanated from the two Queen Bees. As for the reason for their melancholy, it went unspoken; after being neglected for such a long time without a visit, they were displeased.
"If this keeps up, are they going to start loving and killing each other?" Suming clapped his forehead in frustration, the storyline was completely off. In the zoo, half the animals were female, many single - female tigers, lionesses, monkeys, pigs... None of those animals had ever behaved like this.
Why are these two Queen Bees, who barely saw each other, acting like jealous women?
It was likely because of their food. Their sustenance came from royal jelly, which could enhance spiritual power. Perhaps it caused some weird side effects in animals.
Two Queen Bees, one person, the three of them just sat there, giving each other awkward looks without being the first to 'speak'. Fortunately, Suming had plenty of experience dealing with creatures of the opposite sex; he coughed and then skillfully changed the topic.
"What's with the fragrance on you two? It smells really good!"
As Suming spoke, he picked up Mi Hou and gave her a sniff... Given their current size, holding them in the palm of his hand was definitely not an option; they had to be cradled in his arms instead.
Seeing Suming pick up Mi Hou, Hu Hou was not having it. Behind her body, a long, black, and frighteningly sharp stinger appeared with a swoosh, brandishing it at Suming in a show of force as her compound eyes stared at him coldly.
Mi Hou, not to be outdone, opened her mouthparts to reveal two sections that looked exceedingly sharp, like huge sickles, making a clicking sound.
Well, it seemed they were moving further and further towards becoming monsters.
"If you keep this up, I'm leaving!"
Suming was utterly speechless and gave them both a stern look. He held Mi Hou with his right hand and then wrapped Hu Hou on his left side, also leaning in to take a sniff.
The fragrances were emanating from both of them, and if one smelled carefully, there were subtle differences between the scents.
