Chapter 218
Chapter 218: Taking Qin Jiuyue Back to the Villa
Su Lin looked at Qin Deshu in confusion. “Old man, what’s going on?”
Qin Deshu waved his hand dismissively, “I’m handing my granddaughter over to you, go ahead and take her.” After saying this, Qin Deshu shivered and shook himself.
Su Lin turned to Qin Gong for an explanation. “What’s going on?”
Qin Gong laughed, “What else? He got used as a pincushion.”
“Eh… so Qin Jiuyue is that fierce, even jabbing her own grandfather?”
Qin Gong nodded, “Ah… that girl is really something else lately. The old master was just a victim of stray needles.”
Su Lin was curious, “Where did he get jabbed that he’s reacting like this?”
Qin Gong gestured sneakily towards Qin Deshu’s behind, and Su Lin instantly understood.
No wonder when he came in, Qin Deshu was standing there; Su Lin had wondered why he wasn’t sitting down. It turns out he had been jabbed with needles, making it uncomfortable to sit.
“Old man…”
Qin Deshu cut off Su Lin’s chance to speak, “Go on, take Xiaoyue away, and it’s enough if she comes back to visit on weekends.”
Still puzzled, Su Lin nodded and headed towards Qin Jiuyue’s room. He had intended to help remove the chill from Qin Deshu but since he wasn’t given the chance to speak, it might be best to let him enjoy it a bit longer.
“Why did you let Su Lin go?” Qin Deshu asked in confusion. @@novelbin@@
“What did I do wrong?” Qin Deshu replied.
Qin Gong slapped his thigh, “He can remove the chill, your behind…”
“What? He can remove the chill? Qin Gong, hurry up and call Su Lin back!”
Qin Gong felt a bit embarrassed, then nodded and hurried after Su Lin.
Su Lin made his way to Qin Jiuyue’s separate courtyard and found that the previously lush garden was now bare, cleared to make space for her needle practice targets.
“Jiuyue, are you in there?”
“Here~~!”
Hearing her voice, Su Lin was startled, then looked up at the roof. “Jiuyue, what are you doing up there?”
Qin Jiuyue leaped down gracefully from the roof, performing a beautiful roll in the air, landing elegantly in front of Su Lin. “Su Lin, how’s my lightness skill?”
Su Lin deadpanned, “You’re getting close to scratching the surface of my skills.”
“Hehe, if I practice enough, one day I’ll be just like you,” Qin Jiuyue said confidently.
“I was wondering why you haven’t been in touch these days. Turns out you’ve been holed up at home focusing on your cultivation. I heard you’ve been causing quite a stir at home; is that true?” Su Lin asked curiously.
Qin Jiuyue shook her head, “How could that be true? It’s all false. I just sparred with them a few times, and they act like they’ve seen a ghost when they see me. It makes me so angry…”
“And then you jab them with your needles?” Su Lin chuckled.
Qin Jiuyue stuck out her tongue, “I was just teaching them a small lesson, hehe…”
“Even the old man too?” Su Lin asked curiously.
“That was because Grandpa was too slow. The person in front of him dodged, and I didn’t see him behind, so it was too late to stop,” Qin Jiuyue said with a faux apologetic look.
However, Su Lin could tell she wasn’t really sorry; he knew her true nature too well. Her intrinsic character was that of a mischievous witch, always enjoying teasing others.
Whatever exactly had happened in the house, Su Lin was more inclined to believe Qin Gong and the old man. Otherwise, why would the old master be so furious that he insisted Su Lin take her away?
Su Lin laughed, “The old man sent me to take you away.”
“Take me away? What do you mean?” Qin Jiuyue asked, puzzled.
Su Lin explained, “It means he wants me to take you home with me. You’ve been causing so much trouble here that they can’t stand it anymore.”
“Uh… trouble? Really?” Qin Jiuyue blinked her big, questioning eyes.
Seeing her reaction, Su Lin finally understood why the Qin family hadn’t allowed Qin Jiuyue to start cultivating from a young age. If she had started earlier, her true nature would have been fully unleashed, turning her not into the demure Xiaoyue but into a complete demoness.
Su Lin nodded, “Yes, just pack your things and come with me to the villa.”
Qin Jiuyue replied, “That can’t be right. We aren’t married yet, Grandpa wouldn’t let me leave home.”
“It was he who insisted I take you. Believe me, if you leave with me now, he’d probably set off fireworks to celebrate,” Su Lin stated confidently.
Qin Jiuyue frowned and then sighed, “I was just joking with them. Was that really necessary?”
Su Lin laughed, “Your kind of joke isn’t simple, you know. When Qin Gong showed me his arm earlier, I was shocked. You know you shouldn’t use your chilling power so carelessly, right?”
Qin Jiuyue nodded slightly, “I know. Grandpa almost passed out when he got hit by one of the needles.”
“Hehe… Su Lin, if I come back to the villa with you, does that mean I can practice every day?”
“Of course.”
“And can I learn your lightness skill?” Qin Jiuyue’s eyes shone with eagerness.
Su Lin replied, “You’ll need to improve your internal energy first.”
“When will that be?”
“Not too long. You just need to reach the master level.”
Hearing this, Qin Jiuyue sighed; she was only just at the beginner level, not even at intermediate yet. Reaching master level seemed like a distant dream.
“Let’s go…”
“I haven’t packed my things yet.”
“Don’t worry, just leaving is fine. Someone will pack your things for you.”
Knowing Qin Deshu’s urgency, Su Lin was confident that if he took Qin Jiuyue away, her grandfather would likely have someone send her belongings after them.
Despite not knowing exactly what she had done over the past few days to instill such fear, Su Lin could guess from her personality. As they left the inner courtyard, the absence of people showed just how intimidating Qin Jiuyue had become. As they stepped out of the courtyard, many who had been hiding sighed in relief… the plague was finally gone.
What do you think?
