Chapter 1121: Supreme Lord III
Kaleb was probably the most troublesome friend and family member. Taking care of him may not be necessary, but Kaleb Zenovia was still hopelessly in love with Tiara. If it had only been a crush, everything would have been fine, but Kaleb’s love for Tiara was more than a mere crush. He was deeply in love with Tiara, enough to overcome hundreds of rejections.
At this point neither Michael nor Alice could tell how often Tiara had rejected Kaleb.
Alice sighed deeply, seeing the pictures of her brother and her parents, "I thought Mother would punch some sense into his mind, but it looks like his stubbornness has grown exponentially. Not even Mother can handle this brat anymore."
"Well, he is in love," Michael responded and shrugged when Alice glared at him. It’s not his fault to fall in love with Tiara, and it’s not Tiara’s fault that she cannot accept him."
"Cannot? You mean to say that she does not want to accept him," Tiara corrected her lover, but Michael shook his head, "I’ve spoken about it with Tiara a few times in the past. I was curious about what she thought of Kaleb and why she didn’t beat the shit out of him since he never stopped pursuing her. Don’t look at me like that. Tiara beat the shit out of a lot more people than you may think. And those pursuers asked her out only twice, maybe three times when she felt generous."
"So…" Alice tilted her head, "You think Tiara likes Kaleb as well? What did she say?" Continue your journey on NovelBin.Côm
Michael sighed, "Tiara told me she likes Kaleb but doesn’t think there is more to their friendship than friendship. Even now, Kaleb and Tiara are still in contact. She hopes Kaleb will understand his misunderstanding in the future, whereas Kaleb is certain their friendship is more than just that."
"And what do you think?" Alice inquired.
"I think Tiara is too busy with the Silverfangs to think about love, let alone being with someone and making a family with that special someone. She tries not to think about Kaleb and what ’might’ happen if she were to accept him because she won’t be able to handle it for the time being. Tiara is certain she only exists for her people. That is why she never accepted anyone," He sighed deeply, "But once the Silverfangs have a proper foundation in Tiagro and the Origin Expanse…who knows what will happen? Maybe Kaleb will break through Tiara’s defenses if he continues…or everything will break apart."
The sadness in Alice’s eyes was apparent. She didn’t want her brother to suffer any longer, but it was not like she could change anything. If anything, her interference might destroy everything Kaleb had worked for. That was the last thing Alice wanted. She nodded slowly and breathed out heavily.
"You want to stay out of their business and leave them be, right?" Alice asked, to which Michael nodded.
"If possible, I would have brought them together, but I fear that pushing them together will destroy everything. We must let them be and watch from the sidelines, no matter how much it hurts."
Alice didn’t like that. Like, at all. Nonetheless, she was not naive enough to believe everything could be solved with a few words. Too many responsibilities shackled Tiara, preventing her from discovering how she truly felt. Maybe she liked Kaleb. Maybe not. It was for them to find out what would happen in the future.
Alice was sure Kaleb wouldn’t fall easily out of love, but after more than a hundred rejections, even the greatest crush would start crumbling.
Time will tell whether Kaleb and Tiara have a future or if all of this is just wishful thinking.
"Let’s not talk about it anymore. Kaleb is old enough to decide what he wants to do," Alice decided, which Michael took as a sign to change the topic.
He changed the images on the liquid mirror and diverted his attention to some of the people he hadn’t met for a long time. People who had an impact on his life only went down different paths after a while.
The first was Zeke Lavita. Just like Frederik, Jacqueline, and Kaleb, Zeke Lavita was back in the Tritan Alliance. He’d returned a long time ago, but it was nice to see Zeke with his family spending time with Lincoln’s family. To be precise, the families had combined their forces. Zeke Lavita married Lincoln’s younger sister to combine the Piedra and Lavita families and because they fell in love with each other.
Zeke and Lincoln’s sister mourned Lincoln’s death together. At first, they spent only a few hours together to mourn Lincoln’s death, but their presence consoled each other. The hours turned into days, which quickly developed into weeks and months. They fell in love and united their families. They married within one year and gave birth to a baby boy not even nine months later.
Zeke was still an Awakened but didn’t focus on growing stronger anymore. He spent most of his time with his beloved and enjoyed every day of his life. Maybe he would die in a few centuries if he didn’t focus on growing stronger, but so be it. Not everyone wanted to be immortal. There was no need to live forever as long as they could be together.
Michael didn’t hate his immortality since he wasn’t alone, but he understood Zeke’s point of view. He enjoyed every day much more than those who were immortal because he knew that his life would eventually end.
Gods could live forever, but they could also be killed in about. What if someone didn’t enjoy their lives and worked for centuries to grow stronger, only to die? Just like that, dead, without having lived a proper life.
That wasn’t something Zeke wanted to happen.
Fortunately, Michael didn’t have issues with that. He and Alice were immortal, and nothing would happen to them. He was certain of their bright future and enjoyed every day of it.
Especially the days he spent watching his friends. It was the most enjoyable.@@novelbin@@
