Chapter 113: Chapter 113: A Large-Scale Gossip-watching Scene
Zhao Yu stood up and looked at the leader of the men. “Is there a problem?”
“I heard it was you guys who bullied my brother at school? Kid, before you bully someone, didn’t you bother to find out who’s got his back? Bullying my brother is the same as bullying me, and we need to settle this score properly today!”
Zhao Yu asked, “What do you want to do?”
The man sneered, “I want you to kneel down, apologize to my brother, and call out ‘Dad’. Then we’re even, otherwise, this isn’t over.”
“Impossible!” Zhao Yu said coldly.
“Kid, you’re quite arrogant, aren’t you?” The latter’s face darkened instantly.
Zhao Yu said, “Quit the nonsense. You brought so many people here just to fight, didn’t you? Just do it. Whoever hits the ground first today is a loser.”
Shen Zhaozhao’s eyes widened excitedly.
Was this going to be a close-up of a street fight?
“Fine, you’ve got guts! All of you, get him, teach him a lesson,” the infuriated man ordered his lackeys to attack.
The peaceful camping site instantly turned into a brawl.
Shen Zhaozhao and her three friends originally thought they were just going to be spectators.
Unexpectedly, as soon as the chaos started, two individuals charged towards them with fists flying.
“What the hell?”
The four didn’t react in time, and as the large fists were about to land on them, Shen Zhaozhao, in a panic, grabbed her soda bottle and hurled it at the person in front.
With a “clang,” the bottle shattered, eliciting gasps from the onlookers.
The boy touched his forehead, found his hand covered in blood, and after shouting “Fuck,” he fainted.
Shen Zhaozhao: …
She didn’t kill him with the bottle, did she?
Ten minutes later.
A group of people were taken to a nearby police station.
Shen Zhaozhao said, “Officer, if I told you we were innocent, would you believe me?”
The officer looked up at her expressionlessly and said, “You cracked someone’s head open, and you’re telling me you’re innocent?”
Shen Zhaozhao: …
Shen Zhaozhao was at a loss for words and said, “It was an accident. We don’t even know these people; we are just students here to camp. He was the first to charge at us, I got nervous, and my hand just acted on its own.”
“Right, everyone who comes in here claims they’re innocent, and in your case, the evidence is solid!” the officer pointed to the boy bandaged by a policewoman, his forehead bloody.
“No, really, I don’t know them,” Shen Zhaozhao felt like even jumping into the Yellow River wouldn’t clear her name now.
“If you’re not familiar with them, why would you hang around together?”
Shen Zhaozhao said, “We just wanted to watch the excitement. Who would’ve thought he’d suddenly go crazy and come at me with his fists? I couldn’t just stand there and get hit.”
The boy, whose head was cracked open by Shen Zhaozhao with a bottle, jumped up halfway through being bandaged, pointed at her, and accused, “You’re lying! I clearly saw you guys and them together.”
“Keep it down! You got your head cracked open and still can’t stay put!” He was forced back down by the female officer in front of him.
The officer taking the statement tapped his pen on the notebook as a reminder, “No matter what you say now, you’ve cracked someone’s skull open, and that already falls under the crime of intentional injury.”
“But I was clearly defending myself,” Shen Zhaozhao disagreed.
“Whether it was self-defense or not isn’t for you or me to decide…”
What do you think?
