Chapter 18: Chapter 18 Yiyi, I feel so bad

After the first exam, the school decided to let everyone relax, so they organized a field trip.

The destination for the lower grades was the forest zoo.

Early in the morning, Sheng Chuyi was rushed by Qin Suxin to wake up Shen Zhaozhao next door.

By the time Sheng Chuyi pushed open the door to Shen Zhaozhao’s room, she had already gotten up and was sitting on the bed, stuffing snacks into her bag with effort.

Seeing him, she excitedly waved him over, “Yiyi, look, I’ve prepared so much food, we can eat it together when we get to the zoo.”

Sheng Chuyi looked at the big bag full of snacks and couldn’t help frowning.

They were going on a field trip, not fleeing for their lives. With so many snacks, she wouldn’t be able to walk.

After stuffing all the snacks from home into the bag and glancing at the still available space, Shen Zhaozhao ran to the living room and stuffed two large apples from the table into her bag as well.

Not until she had stuffed the backpack full and the zipper was barely able to close did she stop, satisfied.

Sheng Chuyi looked at the bulging backpack on the bed and pressed his lips tightly, saying, “You won’t be able to carry that much, and I won’t help you carry it.”

“I can definitely carry it,” Shen Zhaozhao patted her little chest.

She had it all figured out. She would start eating as soon as she got on the bus, which would lighten the load by the time they got off. The rest she would eat while walking; the bag would be empty soon enough.

“Whatever you want!” But there was no way he would carry it for her.

The bus had been parked early at the school gate, a long line visible as the two of them came out of the neighborhood.

“Are we going to take this bus to the zoo?” Shen Zhaozhao was full of excitement, looking like a naive simpleton encountering something new.

“This bus is so big, it must be very comfortable to ride in,” Shen Zhaozhao ran to the side of the bus, touching and looking around, almost wishing she could get on immediately.

“Can I go sit in it now?” Shen Zhaozhao was eager to move.

“No!” Just as he was about to run towards the bus, Sheng Chuyi pulled him back.

“The teacher said we need to gather in the classroom first before we can board,” he explained.

“Alright then!” Shen Zhaozhao reluctantly took her gaze back.

After what felt like an eternity waiting for the departure time, the children lined up and walked out, each one incredibly excited. Chattering nonstop, they were like a flock of small birds just released from their cages.

Under the guidance of their teachers, they lined up in front of their class’s bus to board.

“Yiyi, hurry up.”

Shen Zhaozhao eagerly chose a seat and patted the one next to her, waving at Sheng Chuyi.

The other girls looked at her enviously.

They also wanted to sit with Sheng Chuyi.

But Sheng Chuyi usually only played with Shen Zhaozhao.

After the teacher took the roll call, the bus quickly set off.

Shen Zhaozhao sat on the bus, excitedly watching the moving scenery outside the window.

She had only ridden in her dad’s and Uncle Sheng’s cars before, and this was her first time on a big bus.

However, one second she was excited, and the next, she was nauseated by motion sickness.

“Yiyi, I feel so sick.”

Shen Zhaozhao looked completely listless, like a frostbitten little cabbage.

Her little face was deathly pale.

Sheng Chuyi looked at her pale face and furrowed his brow slightly, “If you feel sick, close your eyes and sleep. You won’t feel the motion sickness if you fall asleep.”

“Really?” Shen Zhaozhao looked at him with teary eyes.

“Okay then!” Shen Zhaozhao hugged his arm and rested her little head on his shoulder.

Sheng Chuyi pressed his lips together, wanting her to let go, but seeing her distressed face, he ultimately didn’t say it.

The bus bumped along the road, and Shen Zhaozhao quickly fell asleep.
