The young male doctor looked at him briefly and was quite impressed.
After all, it’s rare to see such a good-looking boy, and one that’s easy to remember.
“No need to worry,” he said. “This appears to be gastroenteritis. She must have eaten quite a bit of cold food at home, right? It’s nothing serious, just pay more attention, and eat less next time.”
He had seen several similar cases that morning, all due to overeating and upsetting the stomach.
“Doctor brother, do I not need any medicine?” Shen Zhaozhao asked.
“No need for medicine, just drink more warm water when you get home. If your stomach still hurts, you can apply a hot towel or hot water bottle. Eat light for the next few days, especially avoid cold drinks for now.”
...
“Got it, thank you, brother.” Upon hearing she didn’t need medicine, Shen Zhaozhao couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief. But when she heard that she couldn’t have cold drinks, her little face fell again.
Sheng Chuyi glanced at Shen Zhaozhao and said to the doctor, “Perhaps you should prescribe her some medicine!” to prevent her from not learning her lesson next time.
“I don’t want to take medicine!” Shen Zhaozhao immediately protested.
“What if you sneak treats again next time?”
Shen Zhaozhao tugged at his sleeve, gazing up at him with wide eyes, “I promise I won’t sneak treats anymore, can’t I just have one ice cream a day?”
“You two are siblings, right? You really seem to get along well!” the young male doctor said with a smile.
“No,” they said in unison, then turned to look at each other.
“Then what are you?” the doctor asked, intrigued as he looked at them both.
Shen Zhaozhao glanced at Sheng Chuyi, “We are… neighbors, grew up together since we were little.”
“Ah, childhood sweethearts,” the doctor said with a smile. “Okay, I won’t prescribe any medicine this time, but really, you should cut down on cold drinks, especially as a girl.”
“Understood!”
By the time Qin Suxin arrived at the hospital, they had already seen the doctor.
Knowing that Shen Zhaozhao was fine, she finally relaxed.
Zhaozhao’s mother arrived a step behind Qin Suxin and, upon learning that Shen Zhaozhao’s stomachache was caused by eating too much ice cream, couldn’t help but scold her for a good while before realizing, “Wait, didn’t I lock the fridge? Where did you get the ice cream from?”
As soon as Zhaozhao’s mother voiced this, Shen Zhaozhao and the just-arrived Daddy Zhaozhao simultaneously felt a chill run through them, both displaying guilty expressions.
Just when Shen Zhaozhao hesitated between betraying her own father or her childhood friend, she heard Sheng Chuyi say, “Aunt Ran, I was the one who bought the ice cream for Zhaozhao.”
The father and daughter both sighed in relief.
Daddy Zhaozhao looked at Sheng Chuyi gratefully, thinking the boy had a promising future and mentally noting this favor.
Shen Zhaozhao hastily added, “It’s because I got into the training camp, so Yiyi treated me to the ice cream. I didn’t eat too much, just two sticks.”
Zhaozhao’s mother glared at her disapprovingly, “Two sticks isn’t too much? It looks like locking up the fridge was the right decision, let’s see if you still crave snacks next time!”
Shen Zhaozhao: …
After learning that the ice cream was bought by Sheng Chuyi, Qin Suxin also scolded her son.
“Aunt Suxin, don’t scold Yiyi, it was all my idea to have the ice cream.” Feeling guilty for getting Sheng Chuyi in trouble, Shen Zhaozhao felt really bad.
Of course, the main reason was that she was afraid Yiyi might not buy it for her again!
Qin Suxin: “He’s the older one, and he didn’t look after you well—it’s his fault!”
Sheng Chuyi: Right right right, it’s all his fault!@@novelbin@@
It didn’t matter to him; after all, he was used to taking the blame.
What do you think?
