Chapter 71: Chapter 71: It’s Not Your Place to Tell Me What to Do
After leaving the classroom, Cai Tian looked at Shen Zhaozhao and said, “The teacher has heard all about it. This time, it’s the parents of the other party who want to meet you. You don’t need to be nervous, and you don’t have to care about what the other side says, just stick to your own thoughts. Rest assured, I am on your side. By the way, do you want to make a phone call to your parents too?”
Shen Zhaozhao shook her head, “No need, teacher, I can handle it myself. There’s no need to call my parents.”
“Alright then, there is also the teacher here, I won’t let students from my class be bullied by outsiders,” Cai Tian soothed her.
“Thank you, teacher,” Shen Zhaozhao smiled at her.
Cai Tian also smiled at the beautiful young girl in front of her and said, “Let’s go! The principal is still waiting.”
In the principal’s office.
Cai Tian led Shen Zhaozhao inside.
“Principal, I have brought Shen Zhaozhao, a student from our class.”
The principal, a slightly overweight middle-aged man, glanced at Shen Zhaozhao and then pointed to a strange woman in the office, “Shen Zhaozhao, this is how it is. This lady is Lin Na’s mother, and she says she wants to meet you.”
“You are Shen Zhaozhao?” A lady, dressed lavishly and with delicate makeup, sized up Shen Zhaozhao and said, “I am Lin Na’s mother. I have heard all about the previous incident. How about this, young lady, we’ll compensate you with a new bike, and on top of that, some money. Let’s consider the matter settled, what do you think?”
Cai Tian, upon hearing this, furrowed her brows subconsciously and was about to speak when she heard the principal say, “Teacher Cai, can you help me look for a document for a meeting later? I can’t find it even though I remember it was just here.”
Cai Tian immediately realized that he did not want her to intervene.
“Zhaozhao, it’s okay, you can say whatever’s on your mind,” she encouraged Shen Zhaozhao before starting to look for the documents for the principal.
Shen Zhaozhao nodded and then turned to the woman claiming to be Lin Na’s mother.
“Auntie,” she said, “I don’t want a new bike or your compensation. I just want them to apologize to me, that’s all.”
The woman furrowed her brows and scolded her, “What’s with you, young girl? We have already agreed to compensate you with a new bike, why aren’t you letting it go? How about this, have your parents come over, and I will talk to them.”
Shen Zhaozhao stood up straight, neither servile nor overbearing, “Auntie, apologizing for one’s mistakes is something my parents taught me from a young age. If Lin Na has done something wrong, then she should apologize. You shouldn’t shield her; it’s not good for her.”
“It’s not your place to tell me what to do.”
The woman’s face instantly turned somewhat unsightly.
Don’t think she couldn’t tell that this girl was implying she had not taught her child well.
Seeing that Shen Zhaozhao was unyielding, the woman did not bother to say much more to her but turned to pressure Principal Huang, “Principal Huang, look, this is just a trivial matter, there’s no need for such a serious public apology. You know how children at this age have strong self-esteem. Our child hasn’t eaten for two days already. If something happens because of this, can your school take that responsibility?”
Principal Huang furrowed his brow; Mrs. Lin was quite difficult to deal with, and her husband was a locally well-known entrepreneur. He had heard she had connections within the education department and privately he did not want to offend her.
So, he couldn’t help but look towards Shen Zhaozhao, “Shen Zhaozhao, Lin Na and Yang Yue both already realized their mistake. How about we drop the public apology? How does a private apology to you sound?”
What do you think?
