Chapter 95: Chapter 95 Shen Zhaozhao, Don’t Forget Me

As soon as Jing City was mentioned, Shen Zhaozhao’s face stiffened involuntarily, and she subconsciously looked in the direction of Sheng Chuyi.

The latter was also looking at her.

Their eyes met for a moment before they each quickly looked away.

“Right, Chuyi is moving to Jing City, isn’t he? We can still get together,” Lu Xu said cheerfully, looking in Sheng Chuyi’s direction.

“Let’s talk about it after your exams,” Sang Youyou glared at him.

Sheng Chuyi’s moving wasn’t a secret; at least their small group knew about it, but no one had deliberately reminded each other, as if they had all forgotten about it.

...

No one wanted to bring it up and make everyone sad.

Yet this guy had to bring up the most unwelcome topic, utterly lacking in situational awareness.

Seeing that his words had dampened everyone’s mood, Lu Xu raised an eyebrow and said, “What’s with these reactions? Do you have to be so gloomy? There’s no party that doesn’t end; it’s just a move, not like we’ll never see each other again. Worst comes to worst, we can all try to test into Jing City together, then we can reunite, right?”

That was easy to say, but who could guarantee that they could all test into Jing City.

Xu Siyan glanced in Shen Zhaozhao’s direction and said, “Lu Xu is right. When we have holidays, we can visit Chuyi in Jing City. He definitely won’t refuse to host us.”

“Yeah!” Sheng Chuyi responded.

That was a promise to host them.

The two-day final exams ended quickly. The evening before the move, Sheng Chuyi sat on his bed, holding the gift he had prepared for Shen Zhaozhao, turning it over and over in his hands for a long time.

So many days had passed, yet he still hadn’t found the opportunity to give it away.

Unconsciously, the night had grown deep.

Sheng Chuyi pressed his lips together and finally made up his mind. He got down from the bed and went straight to the balcony.

The night was exceptionally quiet, as if even the stars were preoccupied with their thoughts.

Sheng Chuyi jumped down from the balcony window, gently pushing open the door from Shen Zhaozhao’s balcony to her room.

Inside, the small night light emitted a warm yellow glow, filling the entire room.

Sheng Chuyi immediately saw Shen Zhaozhao asleep on the bed. She seemed to be sleeping restlessly, with her brows tightly furrowed.

Sheng Chuyi watched her for a long time before he gently placed the gift by her bedside.

Bending over, he whispered in her ear, “Shen Zhaozhao, don’t forget me!”

The next day, Shen Zhaozhao woke up.

As soon as she opened her eyes and saw the gift by her bed, she was momentarily stunned.

Then she leaped out of bed without even bothering to put on her slippers and dashed to the living room, saying, “Mom, mom, did Yiyi come over?”

“Nope!” Shu Ran turned around, puzzled, and eyed her overreacting daughter, “What happened?”

Hearing that Yiyi hadn’t come over, disappointment flashed across Shen Zhaozhao’s face, then she looked down at the gift in her hands again, asking, “Then do you know who put this in my room?”

“I have no idea,” Shu Ran shook her head. “Could it be your dad?”

“Where’s dad? I’ll ask him,” Shen Zhaozhao turned around, intending to look for Daddy Zhaozhao.

Shu Ran said, “Your dad is on the early shift today, he’s already left.”

Shen Zhaozhao’s steps halted, and she looked at the box in her hands again.

For some reason, she always felt that it must have been Yiyi who gave it to her.

“Mom, I’m going next door,” Shen Zhaozhao said, and then she ran toward the neighbor’s house.

“But…” Shu Ran was just about to say something when Shen Zhaozhao had already dashed out.

The words Shu Ran didn’t finish echoed behind her, “Your Uncle Sheng’s family left early this morning.”
