Chapter 50 – Big brother, I really thank you all
Just as it was about to charge over and stop that person from picking the spiritual herbs, a massive creature blocked its path.
"Moo!"
Black Bull stood on its hind legs, its hooves clapped together, and it struck out with thunderous speed, startling the Red Lion!
A burst of flame erupted, and the Red Lion's spells were effortlessly neutralized by Black Bull. Its fangs were caught in a hoof, and it couldn't break free no matter how hard it tried.
Roar!
Moo!
With a fierce tug, Black Bull swung the Red Lion around and slammed it into the ground. The Red Lion's face twisted in pain, its eyes filled with intense terror, and it felt as if its brains were about to be smashed out.
Moo!
Black Bull swung again with force, and the Red Lion began to doubt its life as a stream of blood spurted from its throat, its mana unable to circulate.
Moo!
Black Bull bellowed in rage, its hooves continuing to swing. The Red Lion's tongue was smashed out, and it kept making whimpering noises, pleading for mercy, begging to be spared from further smashing!
Chen Xun picked two stalks of Ice Duck Grass and Cold Spirit Grass, both pure white as jade and emitting a chill. He carefully placed them in his medicine chest for safekeeping.
He then shouted towards another part of the lake, "Bull, time to go."
"Moo~" Black Bull quickly dragged the Red Lion over to Chen Xun, leaving a long trail of blood on the ground.
"Bull, you're really something," Chen Xun exclaimed in amazement. Damn, that was almost a dead lion.
"Moo~ Moo!" Black Bull grinned, already imagining whether to braise or steam the Red Lion.
Whimper~
The Red Lion's pupils were lifeless; it was utterly defeated.
"Ah, what a pity," Chen Xun shook his head. "Brother, you better heal up. If it were someone else, they'd have skinned and boned you by now."
Chen Xun hoisted up the Red Lion and, along with Black Bull, headed into the jungle. If it weren't for the Inedia Pill they had consumed, they wouldn't dare to start a fire here and would have already begun feasting.
They dumped the Red Lion in a secluded spot to fend for itself. It definitely wouldn't be moving for half a year, better that than letting their fellow sect members stumble upon it.
Whimper~ The Red Lion weakly cried out, "Big brother, I truly thank you!"
"Bull, let's slip away," Chen Xun sang as he and Black Bull began climbing trees, vanishing in the blink of an eye.
They were gone, but they left the Red Lion with a lifelong trauma. In the future, the sight of a pile of withered leaves would send it crawling and weeping, recalling all the wrongs it had done in its life.
"Bull, check the map."
Atop an ancient tree, Chen Xun spread out a simple map, many places unmarked. "Was that lake we were at just now this one?"
This map was the result of countless generations of Five Aggregates Sect disciples' hard work, obtained at the cost of their lives, and Chen Xun treasured it greatly.
"Moo?" Black Bull pointed at several large lakes on the map, all of which seemed similar.@@novelbin@@
Chen Xun was also perplexed; the teleportation was too random. Although they were all sent to the edges of Nandou Mountain, the area was so vast it was impossible to discern the direction.
"Let's just go and see; we'll figure out where we are eventually," Chen Xun said nonchalantly.
"Moo!" Black Bull nodded and even patted Chen Xun with its hoof, making him laugh.
They continued deeper into the forest and even found a Foundation Establishment auxiliary spiritual herb, which delighted both Chen Xun and Black Bull. They kept saying that Old Sun and Teacher Ning must be blessing them from the heavens.
Three days later, Chen Xun and Black Bull were dumbfounded as they finally accepted the fact that they were lost!
East, west, north, and south looked exactly the same, all covered by towering ancient trees. They weren't even sure if they were just walking in circles...
"Bull, boldly march forward..." Chen Xun sang to Black Bull, who looked pained, mooing softly and occasionally covering its ears with its hooves.
The forest was pitch black, and they couldn't see their hands in front of their faces. The tree trunks were so wide that lying on them felt spacious.
Sometimes they couldn't tell if it was night or day; it was all dark, the sky completely obscured by dense foliage.
Suddenly, a venomous snake appeared, flicking its tongue and eyes glowing with a faint light. It sensed the warmth of two prey, ready to spew its venomous mist.
Chen Xun, lost in thought, seemed unaware until suddenly his hands moved like the wind, pulling the snake over.
He twisted the snake into a knot with his hands and then stretched it fiercely. The snake was dead beyond dead, sent to meet Zhong Kui.
"Little thing."
A faint glow of fire appeared, and Black Bull quickly got up to cover it, hiding the light. The snake's body turned to ash.
After resting for a while, they were awakened by the sound of fighting, coincidentally right under their tree.
A group of men and a group of women were fighting, and surprisingly, three women had surrounded three men.
Chen Xun and Black Bull didn't move, looking down to see that they were disciples of the ten great immortal sects, apparently from the Dan Ding Sect and the Noble Sect.
"Hehe, dear junior brothers, you might as well stop running," a Noble Sect woman said with a coquettish laugh, her eyes seductive.
"Sister, we are willing to hand over the spiritual herbs, please spare our lives."
The three Dan Ding Sect disciples were at their wits' end, blood dripping from their mouths and their clothes in tatters, having been chased down.
"How could we do that?" Another woman also laughed playfully, seemingly toying with them.
Suddenly, one of the women's expression changed, her Silicon Valley bird constantly warning of danger nearby!
The three Noble Sect women naturally trusted the Silicon Valley bird; it was with its help that they had been able to catch up to the Dan Ding Sect disciples.
The three Dan Ding Sect disciples also brightened up, seeing their change in demeanor and hoping for rescue.
"Fellow Daoist, no need to hide any longer, come out; we've discovered you!"
The three women shouted in all directions, even the Silicon Valley bird couldn't pinpoint the person's location, they must be well-hidden.
Chen Xun and Black Bull sneered at their tactics, as if they were mere children. They remained motionless above their heads.
The Noble Sect women exchanged glances, unable to find the hidden person, they decided to quickly finish off the Dan Ding Sect disciples before the situation changed.
"Kill!" The three women brandished their magical artifacts and charged at them.
"Junior brothers, let's fight!" The Dan Ding Sect disciples, their eyes red with fury, fought desperately.
Mana howled below the tree, but Chen Xun and Black Bull remained unshaken, occasionally brushed by gusts of wind.
However, the Dan Ding Sect disciples were no match, and already exhausted, several flashes of cold light passed, and their heads soared into the sky, their bodies split in two.
"Such vicious women," Chen Xun mused darkly.
They formed a small circle, mana swirling in their hands, their eyes scanning the surroundings without lowering their guard.
Chirp! Chirp! The Silicon Valley bird flapped towards the top, finally pinpointing the location!
"What?!" The three women couldn't believe it, feeling their hairs stand on end, someone was actually hiding right above them, and they had no clue.
Chen Xun frowned, annoyed by the bird. So the disciples of the ten great immortal sects have many tricks, huh? Damn it.
What do you think?
