Chapter 1306 Counterattack
Seeing a confident smile appearing on Tristan's face, the Fire Lord frowned. "Why are you smiling? Do you understand what you've done is disregarding imperial law?"
"Because I don't know what you're talking about." Tristan shrugged. "If you are going to accuse me, you should have checked my background first."
"You're nothing but a slave that has been smuggled into the Muivell Kingdom by Noel Ardagan!" The marquis didn't know where Tristan got his confidence. Something must be wrong.
When Tristan was about to release his card, Howard suddenly knocked on the door. "Sir. This is Howard. I have something important to report."
"Come in. What is it?" Tristan replied, not caring about these two people.
"You…" The Fire Lord gritted his teeth. However, he was soon stunned when Howard dragged the Light Lord, who was supposed to be trying to sabotage the rune technology, inside.
His condition was awful. His body was covered in wounds, and the energy coming from him was so weak that it was clear he was already half-dead.
"You bastard. What have you done to the envoy of the Tower Association? Are you trying to have an open war against the Tower Association?" The Fire Lord roared.
The marquis nodded in agreement. "We can't disregard the contribution of the Tower Association to this kingdom. Unless the Ardagan family has a proper explanation, we will consider this as the Ardagan family trying to challenge the Tower Association. The Muivell Kingdom will not tolerate such a barbaric thing."
Tristan knew that Howard wouldn't bring this person here if he didn't do any fault. Besides, there was no one who could fight the Light Lord without anyone noticing.
Hence, there must be something going on. And it would be in the favor of the Ardagan family.
Tristan carefully thought about it before asking, "What happened, Howard? Why would the Tower Association's envoy get beaten up in our territory?"
"Yes, sir." Howard recalled what happened inside the Water Storage facility.
…
"Sir. The guards from the Water Storage facility are calling you. There seems to be something happening in the facility."
"Hmm?" Howard's heart skipped a beat, thinking someone must have done something bad. This facility was extremely important for the Ardagan family, so they couldn't afford anyone from messing with her.
Without hesitation, Howard rushed to the facility, trying to find out what had happened.
He was shocked when he saw the Light Lord half-dead.
"What's going on?" Howard asked. He didn't know who beat the Light Lord, but this wasn't something they could brush off as incidents.
Unfortunately, no one could actually provide an explanation.
Howard inspected the area, including the Light Lord's body carefully, before noticing there was a small note in the Light Lord's pocket. It was deliberately hidden from someone outside.
This must be the culprit. However, his face soon immediately changed the moment he read the content.
'Infiltration. Beat up. Blame the Rune.'
"!!!" Howard widened his eyes in shock. He looked around and realized there were some runes that had been destroyed.
It looked like someone noticed the Light Lord's movement and beat him up. This was an off-limit area in the water storage facility and the Light Lord had no authority to enter this area. Hence, the Light Lord had broken the rule first.
And the culprit must want to use this fact to shift the blame to the Light Lord and use it to pressure those people.
'Now that I think about it, the Lord has told me not to worry about protection because there is already a guardian deity protecting this city. He doesn't tell me other things.
'Still, this person is so strong that he can defeat the Light Lord without anyone noticing. Even if it's a sneak attack, it still shows how powerful this person is. A spirit transcendence?
'I don't know who it is, but if this is the case, no wonder why the lord doesn't hesitate to go outside the territory.
'In that case, I will follow this person's arrangement.'
Howard stood up, ready for a counterattack.

…
And that was what he did.
Howard politely bowed his head before placing his hand on his chest. "Yes, sir. Allow me to report the situation.
"The Light Lord has entered the off-limit area in our water storage facility. He has been taken out by the defensive runes we've placed to neutralize anyone who doesn't have the authority."
"!!!" The Fire Lord and the marquis widened their eyes.
Tristan, on the other hand, thought, 'There's no rune strong enough to do that. But if that's true, we can actually frame them and punish these people.'
Tristan stood up, glaring at the Fire Lord. "What is the meaning of this, Fire Lord? Your envoy has entered the forbidden zone of the Ardagan family.
"According to the Imperial Law Chapter 210 Section B and C, it's stated that each lord has the authority to set up their respective boundary, which can be punished according to the local law or the imperial law.
"According to our law, the Ardagan family has the right to execute the people who break the law because they threaten public safety.
"Meanwhile, the imperial state that depending on the degree of the offense, he can be imprisoned for a period of time all the way to a public execution.
"The Water Storage facility is not something light, Fire Lord. If something happens to it, you're going to cause a huge loss to the Ardagan family. In addition, you are also threatening public safety.
"May I know if the Tower Association is trying to harm the Ardagan family?" Tristan smiled as they turned around the situation.
"This is bullshit. There's no way the Light Lord is inside. Besides, with what jurisdiction are you allowed to judge us? You're just a slave."
Tristan smiled. "Howard. It's perfect now that you're here." Tristan turned to Rose. "In that case, Rose. Can you bring that? The proof of my status. The fact that I have bought my own freedom and switched my nationality, allowing me to gain the protection of the law as well?"
Rose nodded.
"!!!"
What do you think?
