Chapter 28: He Wants to Choose the Most Beautiful Female Doctor
Chapter 28: Chapter 28: He Wants to Choose the Most Beautiful Female Doctor
“Where is he?”
Qiao Xi’s voice trembled.
“He’s in the City Hospital being resuscitated.”
Qiao Xi clutched her cellphone, running towards the emergency room like a lunatic. The sound of the wind roared in her ears, and she felt as if dark clouds were pressing down overhead, many possibilities flashing through her mind.
Why had he been taken to the emergency room?
Would he die?
...
“Young Madam!” Aunt Qian saw her and burst into tears, “I don’t know what happened, but the young master started vomiting blood profusely.”
“How long has he been in there?” Qiao Xi’s hands and feet were ice-cold, and a cold sweat broke out on her back.
“Just a little while.”
The lights in the emergency room were still on.
What symptom is vomiting blood? Qiao Xi thought frantically; if only she could take his pulse.
“Aunt Qian, you… you don’t panic first.” She comforted Aunt Qian with her mouth, but she herself was terribly frightened.
After a while, the Huo family’s second branch all arrived.
Du Juan and Huo Sijiao asked continuously, while Huo Jiancheng’s expression was even more solemn.
“How did he end up in the hospital just like that? His condition had improved with the disciple of Cheng Han,” Du Juan paced back and forth, “Did we overlook something?”
“Mom, I’m scared.”
Huo Sijiao clung tightly to Du Juan, crying bitterly.
She remembered the night her brother had a car accident; the entire family was frightened and in pain, also waiting outside the emergency room. She thought that such darkness would no longer descend upon them.
“It’s okay, it’ll be okay this time too.”
Du Juan trembled all over as she gently patted Huo Sijiao’s back.
Qiao Xi stood silently.
Two hours later, the lights in the emergency room went out.
Everyone crowded around as the doctor came out, removing his mask and saying, “His stomach is fragile, food poisoning, nothing serious.”
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
Huo Xingzhou was wheeled out on a gurney, still conscious.
“Xingzhou.”
“Son, do you feel discomfort anywhere else?”
“I’m fine.”
Huo Xingzhou’s face was pale as he was pushed into room 2106.
“How could it be food poisoning?” Aunt Qian blamed herself, “Could it be that the food I cooked was poisonous?”
“Aunt Qian, it has nothing to do with you. I wasn’t careful and ate some nuts that, it turns out, were expired,” Huo Xingzhou comforted her.
“Brother, don’t scare us like that again, I was almost scared to death,” Huo Sijiao said with reddened eyes.
“Hmm.”
Huo Xingzhou looked past them and toward the door of the room at Qiao Xi, seeing the redness around her eyes. He knew she hadn’t taken his words from the morning to heart.
“You guys go back first, I want to sleep for a while, just let Qiao Xi stay with me.”
Since Huo Xingzhou had said so, Du Juan had no choice but to leave.
“Then we’ll come to see you tomorrow.”
They left reluctantly, and the hospital room quieted down again.
Qiao Xi locked the door of the hospital room behind her, walked over with pursed red lips and silently grasped his wrist.
Acupuncture.
The pulse was strong.
This was not food poisoning at all.
Her clear eyes looked at him, demanding an explanation.
Huo Xingzhou touched his nose and said, “It was all just an act for the main branch to see.”
“Mr. Huo, you scared everyone,” Qiao Xi looked at him disapprovingly, “Food poisoning, what’s there to watch?”
Huo Xingzhou’s mouth curved up slightly, “Huo Beiting is suspicious; he won’t believe that I just have simple food poisoning. Instead, he’ll think that our branch is trying to hide my real condition, which is why we announced it was food poisoning.”
“And now, the doctor he has bribed will tell him that I am suffering from organ failure and that my days are numbered.”
Qiao Xi didn’t understand, “What’s the benefit of that?”
“No real benefit,” Huo Xingzhou seriously said to her, “Little Divine Doctor, I just wanted to see you in the daylight.” And incidentally, to see who else dared to touch his people.
These words made Qiao Xi’s heart flutter, and warmth spread to her hands and feet.
“Don’t joke about me.”
Huo Xingzhou said helplessly, “Alright. When I was severely ill and hospitalized, the main house became even more arrogant, revealing more flaws. At Grandfather’s seventieth birthday, I will send them a gift.”
He wanted to give Huo Beiting a chance, to let him sign that bet agreement with no reservations.
Qiao Xi poured him a glass of warm water.
Huo Xingzhou took it and gently sipped, saying, “You go back home tonight, bring the medicine box over; we will do acupuncture in the hospital for this period.”
“Mr. Huo, I…”
“I know.” His eyes were deep, perceiving everything, “You don’t want to expose our relationship. Tomorrow, I will make it legitimate for you to be in charge of this hospital room.”
Qiao Xi did not ask more and nodded.
“Go home, the driver is waiting for you outside. Be careful late at night.”
“Then I’ll be leaving first.”
After a night of heart-stopping moments, she was tired.
Qiao Xi changed out of her white lab coat and left; Old Chen, the driver, was waiting outside.
“Young Madam.”
He opened the car door, and Qiao Xi thanked him.
From a distance, a “click” sounded, capturing the image of her getting into the car.

The next day.
The medical affairs department was seething with undercurrents like boiling water, and interns whispered to each other.
Qiao Xi noticed it the moment she arrived.
“Surname Huo! Which other Huo could there be in Haicheng!”
“Right, specifically asking for our acupuncture and rehabilitation intern, the prettiest and most professional one! Guess why he wants the prettiest?”
“A rich young master from a top wealthy family, of course he’s looking for… a romantic encounter.”
Young girls still harbored some fantasies, unable to keep calm.
Qiao Xi saw that Ye Manman and Wu Yachun’s makeup was meticulously done, both eager to try.
“Yachun, you go first.”
Director Wu always thought of his niece for any good opportunity, and Wu Yachun excitedly agreed. She paraded around like a proud peacock before going upstairs.
Ye Manman praised her verbally, but her eyes revealed dissatisfaction.
“Even so, good things won’t fall on your head.” She couldn’t help but take out her anger on Qiao Xi.
Qiao Xi was arranging items and did not pay attention.
Soon, Wu Yachun came running down crying, her makeup smeared.
“Yachun, what happened?”
“He asked about chest pain in the precardial area, with deficiency of yang qi, and which acupuncture points should be needled. I’m just an intern, how would I know that!”
She was crying so hard she couldn’t catch her breath, “He then humiliated me, asking how someone with my skills got into the hospital.”
On hearing this, Qiao Xi struggled to suppress the upward curve of her lips.
Director Wu frowned, “Ye Manman, your turn.”
“Okay.”
Ye Manman straightened her front confidently; she was not an embroidered pillow like Wu Yachun. She knew all the basic symptoms by heart.
This was her chance to soar.
She had heard that the second young master of the Huo Family was married and infertile, but so what.
What she aimed for was money and status.
Room 2106.
Huo Xingzhou, bored to death, was playing with a world map puzzle and didn’t even look up at the sound of the door opening.
Director Wu and Ye Manman came up together.
“Second Young Master. This is Ye Manman, beautiful and professional,” Director Wu said obsequiously. The Huo Family donated a lot of equipment to the City Hospital every year, and this Buddha could not be offended.
Huo Xingzhou looked up, casting a glance at her.
Ye Manman immediately blushed, infatuated.
She didn’t expect him to be so handsome.
She volunteered, “Mr. Huo, I come second in my professional ranking every year. You can test me on anything; I know all the basic illnesses.”
Huo Xingzhou tossed aside the puzzle, frowning, “Do you have body odor?”
What do you think?
