Taming The Hidden Bigshot By Kissing Him

Chapter 66: 66 Qiao Xi is missing!

Chapter 66: Chapter 66 Qiao Xi is missing!

Qiao Xi walked out of the dean’s office and saw Dr. Yan and Shu Xue anxiously waiting there.

“Qiao Xi, how did it go? I’ve already explained to Dean Xu that your diagnosis was correct, and I’ve looked at the prescription myself.” Dr. Yan, usually so serious, was now beside himself.

He looked at her full of guilt: “It’s all my fault! I was deceived by a phone call! The video online must have been shot by Wang Dafu, they were targeting you.”

A prescription unsigned might only warrant a fine.

But unlicensed practice with complications, the consequences were severe.

Qiao Xi managed a weak smile: “Dr. Yan, it’s not about you, it’s my lack of experience.”

...

“I’ll go clear things up online!” Dr. Yan said coldly.

“No need.”

Qiao Xi grabbed his hand and said, “They only believe what they see, and we don’t have any evidence. If you try to clarify, they’ll just take their anger out on you.”

The clinic at the hospital didn’t have surveillance, and they had calculated this very point.

Was Huo Beiting behind this, or was it Su Weiwei?

“Dr. Yan, don’t worry about me, think about who I am.” Qiao Xi purposely reassured him, and Yan Shi’an soon breathed a sigh of relief after thinking it over.

She was Huo Xingzhou’s wife after all.

“If you need any help, you can always come to me.”

Having said that, Dr. Yan left to attend to his duties.

Qiao Xi took a deep breath and turned to Shu Xue, who was standing anxiously next to her, “Did you find anything out?”

“Yes.”

Shu Xue took her hand and said, “Wang Dafu and his wife are in the Four Seasons Hotel near the hospital. I’m quite familiar with the owner; he’s in room 302. Shall I accompany you?”

“The nurses’ station is so busy, you’re going to get scolded by the matron again.”

“Your issue is more urgent, let’s go together. Make sure to wear a mask, there are reporters everywhere.”

Shu Xue whispered gently.

Qiao Xi nodded heavily.

“Let’s go!”

They made their way to the back door and took a long detour to reach the Four Seasons Hotel.

The facilities in the small hotel weren’t as comprehensive, making the corridors dim.

They rode the old elevator up to the third floor, where Shu Xue held her phone and winked at Qiao Xi: “They can take secret photos, so can we. You take the chance to see what Wang Dafu is really up to.”

“Okay.”

They crossed the corridor and knocked on door 302.

“Who is it!” came the voice of Wang Dafu’s wife from inside.

Shu Xue disguised her voice, “Housekeeping, with toiletries.”

The middle-aged woman had no suspicions, and as she opened the door, Shu Xue and Qiao Xi squeezed in.

They immediately saw Wang Dafu lying on the hotel bed, legs crossed, smoking and drinking with abandon.

“Doctor Qiao!”

“Wang Dafu!”

Wang Dafu was so startled he immediately jumped up.

No need for further diagnosis, he was definitely faking it.

Shu Xue held her phone and snapped away at Wang Dafu, “Qiao Xi, got it! This scoundrel is just faking it, we’ll post this online later!”

All rumors would be self-defeating, and Qiao Xi’s punishment wouldn’t be so severe anymore.

“You little whore! Husband, catch them!”

Wang Dafu and his wife clung tightly to their clothes, trying to snatch the phone.

“Qiao Xi, run! I’ll hold them off,” Shu Xue shouted from the doorway, “They wouldn’t dare touch me! Go now!”

Qiao Xi snatched the phone and gritted her teeth, “Be careful, I’ll go find someone!”

“You little slut, don’t run!”

Shu Xue grappled with the middle-aged woman, while Wang Dafu burst through the door, chasing Qiao Xi down the hallway.

The elevator was too slow; Qiao Xi opened the emergency exit and ran into the stairwell.

Wang Dafu leaned against the wall, gasping for air, a malicious smile spreading across his lips.

Qiao Xi jogged along when suddenly the noises behind her ceased, so she turned back to look.

A strong, pungent gas sprayed out, and she felt dizzy and lost consciousness almost immediately.

Elsewhere.

Shu Xue left the hotel and headed straight for the hospital.

“Have you seen Qiao Xi?”

Her phone was taken by Qiao Xi, and she couldn’t get in touch with anyone. She had a fierce fight with Wang Dafu’s wife, but for some reason, the woman let go halfway through.

Wang Dafu himself was nowhere to be found.

“No, we haven’t seen her. She didn’t come back.”

“Shu Xue, the head nurse is looking for you.”

Shu Xue was anxious, “Ah, I have an emergency!”

She searched every floor of the hospital but couldn’t find Qiao Xi anywhere.

Something must’ve happened!

She rummaged through her desk, found the form filled out by Qiao Xi, and called the emergency contact number listed there using the landline.

“Hello! Is this Mr. Huo? Qiao Xi is missing! We went to see Wang Dafu today and caught a video of him faking illness. And then…” Shu Xue recounted the entire sequence of events.

“I understand, thank you for the information.”

Huo Xingzhou hung up the phone on the other end.

In the small villa, inside the living room.

The man in the wheelchair had eyes like blades steeped in ice, malevolent and sharp.

“I’m sorry, Mr. Huo. I thought there wouldn’t be any danger inside the hotel, so I didn’t follow her in,” said a man dressed in camouflage, apologizing with his head bowed.

He was the bodyguard assigned to protect Qiao Xi.

Huo Xingzhou ignored him and instead turned to a technician fiddling with some equipment, “Have you locked onto the address?”

The moment Qiao Xi had disappeared, he’d been notified.

“Yes!” The technician said excitedly, “The Young Madam’s phone has been on the move, and GPS is active, but it’s possible that the kidnappers are carrying her phone to mislead us.”

“Take the equipment and go with me, Old Chen, move out,” the man spoke indifferently.

“Yes.”

Huo Xingzhou put on his Bluetooth earpiece, stood up, and left the villa, with Old Chen responsible for driving to the targeted location.

He was calm throughout the journey, but Old Chen felt an intense madness in his eyes. If it was Zhuo Feng who had captured the Young Madam, the situation was likely dire, as the enemy would certainly seek violent revenge.

Huo Xingzhou methodically arranged the search efforts, “Zhou Yu, get me the surveillance around the Four Seasons Hotel, find any suspicious vehicles, and report their license plates to me.”

“Chen Xun, contact the police with the details and request their assistance in apprehending the suspect.”

Huo Xingzhou turned off his phone’s vibration and switched to ringtone mode, the volume set to maximum.

His gaze fixed on the black screen.

Perhaps it was serendipity.

The phone screen suddenly lit up, indicating a call from “Wife.”

Huo Xingzhou’s fingertips went numb as he slid to answer.

The call connected.

There was silence on the other end while the technician hurriedly pinpointed the signal, estimating the location through the signal exchange with cell towers. They ultimately pointed to the Western Suburbs, an old construction site owned by the Huo family.

That area was supposed to become the bustling Future City, but now it was all for archaeological development, with the outskirts littered with abandoned construction sites.

Huo Xingzhou activated the speakerphone, and there were chaotic noises on the other end.

The rustle of clothing.

The roll of car wheels, the roar of an engine.

There was also a faint breathing sound.

Finally, the car engine was turned off, and the tires screeched against the road.

The car door was violently thrown open, followed by a scream.
