Chapter 88: 88 They Are All Not Good Stuff

Chapter 88: Chapter 88 They Are All Not Good Stuff

During the banquet, somebody abruptly spoke up, “Old Sun has some good stuff, but he only shows it to President Huo. That won’t do; I want to join the excitement too.”

Others followed suit.

“I’ll go too.”

“Let me take a look as well.”

The bolder ones swarmed after them, though not daring to follow too closely.

Upon seeing this, Su Heng frowned slightly and stood up, blending into the crowd. He wanted to know what secret deals the Sun Family and the Huo Family had.

...

Leading the way, Huo Xingzhou and his group made their way to the second floor.

Suddenly, the sound of a woman’s scream was heard!

It came from the end of the corridor.

The faces of the Sun Family members all looked troubled.

Huo Xingzhou quickened his pace even more, walking briskly towards the noise.

The closer he got, the more piercing the scream sounded.

“This… this is Mo Jiajun’s resting room,” Sun Weimeng said, his heart racing as he noticed the nameplate on the door; Qiao Xi had been missing for quite a while.

Mo Jiajun was shameless; once he was done with a woman he fancied, he didn’t care about her status.

“The Young Madam Huo seems to have been gone for quite some time now,” someone murmured in the crowd.

“She probably went to change her clothes,” suggested another.

“But changing clothes shouldn’t take that long.”

Huo Xingzhou was the center of attention, and Qiao Xi, by his side, was also under scrutiny. Many people were aware that Qiao Xi had left her seat and didn’t pay much attention to other rich young ladies.

“The person inside is… Mo Jiajun truly has some nerve!”

They all assumed that the person inside was very likely Qiao Xi.

“Tsk.”

Unable to hold back, Su Heng scoffed.

“A country woman with no manners,” he lamented, “she was the only one who dirtied her clothes at the table, unlike the others.”

He had long held grudges, and now he seized the chance to vent.

Some agreed with him, while others pretended not to have heard.

Madam Sun, fearing Huo Xingzhou’s fury, said hastily, “I… I’ll go in first and take a look.”

Should it really be Qiao Xi who had suffered misfortune, she didn’t want an unseemly scene exposed before everyone.

“No need!”

Huo Xingzhou suppressed his anger and kicked the door with his foot.

The door trembled a few times before swinging open.

A woman, her dress torn and disheveled, hair a mess, ran out and plunged directly towards his arms. Huo Xingzhou, quick as if avoiding bacteria, dodged swiftly.

The woman fell to the ground, and from beneath her disarrayed hair, her delicate face was exposed.

“Su… Su Weiwei!”

“It’s her!”

“She and Mo Jiajun actually…”

Shock froze on Su Heng’s face as he incredulously pushed through the crowd to the front, only to find that it was indeed Su Weiwei.

“You… shameless!”

Su Heng grabbed her and slapped her across the face.

“Dad! I… I was…” Su Weiwei cried miserably, especially terrified of the onlookers.

She knew her reputation was completely ruined.

“Weiwei, dear.”

At the doorway, Mo Jiajun, having dressed at his leisure, sauntered out.

“A joyous encounter for a man and a woman, you ought to be careful with your words,” Mo Jiajun warned.

He was like a cancer, causing many daughters of wealth to suffer without being able to speak out.

Hearing his words made Su Weiwei sob even harder.

She was afraid of the scandal becoming public, that everyone would know she brought the narcotic powder and that Huo Xingzhou would kill her! Moreover, she didn’t know what Mo Jiajun had done with another packet of the powder, or where it went!

She also stole glances at Huo Xingzhou with the corner of her eye but didn’t notice anything amiss about him.

“I…”

“Weiwei! Tell me the truth, did he force you?” Su Heng wanted to save the last shreds of dignity.

Mrs. Mo from the crowd couldn’t help but feel displeased, “Your daughter and my son did such a thing, how can it be that my son forced her?”

“Weiwei!”

Su Heng warned sternly.

Su Weiwei kept hiding behind him, shaking her head while crying, “No! He didn’t force me!”

She had suffered a great loss, but could only swallow the humiliation!

“You… you’ve disappointed me so much! How could young people have no self-control!” Su Heng was so angry that veins throbbed on his forehead. Following the instincts of a businessman, he proposed what seemed to be the best solution.

“Since… since you both have feelings for each other, then our two families can sit down and properly discuss the marriage!”

The Mo Family was not much worse off than the Su Family!

It was just that Mo Jiajun’s reputation was abysmal!

Under the watchful eyes of all, Su Heng could only resort to this measure; otherwise, his Su Family’s daughter would never be able to marry off!

Mrs. Mo was overjoyed upon hearing this, picking up a daughter-in-law for nothing, and she was the Su Family’s precious daughter!

But Mo Jiajun was not pleased.

He shook his head and said, “Uncle Su, romance between a man and a woman is all about mutual consent. What she and I had was nothing but a fleeting affair. I have no intention of marrying her.”

Afraid that Su Heng was not aggravated enough, he criticized, “Her figure isn’t bad, worthy of nine points. But her makeup is too heavy. If she were to remove her makeup and show her bare face, she would only score six points!”

He criticized Su Weiwei from head to toe, humiliating her in every possible way, as if he thought very little of her.

In the end, Mo Jiajun concluded with a summary, “I slept with her, just to see what Huo Beiting’s woman tasted like. Now that I’ve tried, she’s nothing special.”

Mo Jiajun and Huo Beiting once had an unpleasant encounter, both vying for Fang Anni’s attention. Fang Anni was cunning, and Mo Jiajun couldn’t outsmart her, so he harbored a grudge.

In terms of figure and appearance, Fang Anni was much better than Su Weiwei.

“You… you…”

Su Heng was so angry that his whole body trembled.

Su Weiwei left in shame and indignation, crying unceasingly.

“Uncle Su, don’t blame me for shirking responsibility. The fact that she could engage in premarital sex shows she’s no good herself,” Mo Jiajun said earnestly.

What a scoundrel!

Su Heng stormed out, furious!

And with that, the farce came to an end.

Mo Jiajun, licking his lips, thought to himself that Su Weiwei wasn’t too bad, actually. Having taken so many photos as leverage, keeping her around as a convenient backup option did seem quite appealing.

The Sun Family members all had unpleasant expressions watching the Mo Family.

“Mrs. Mo, your family’s commotion has ruined our old Sun’s banquet. Please leave first, and we will refund the money for the gift you brought,” Madam Sun said with a cold face.

“This…”

Mrs. Mo had anger in her heart, but she didn’t dare to offend the Sun Family.

She could only twist Mo Jiajun’s ear, grumbling as they left, “How can you not control yourself! When a girl throws herself at you, can’t you just avoid her?”

“Mom! She insisted on sleeping with me, what could I do,” he argued bluntly and absurdly.

The others shook their heads; such lack of principle from the Mo Family’s son.

“Huo… Huo Xingzhou, sorry for the false alarm!”

It was only now that Sun Weimeng dared to speak up.

He had never seen Huo Xingzhou in such a thunderous rage, and he too had been worried that it was Qiao Xi inside the room earlier.

Huo Xingzhou gazed toward the other end of the corridor, where the girl in a pink cheongsam came into his view, causing the corners of his mouth to dip slightly. Actually, the moment he heard the scream upon reaching upstairs, he knew it wasn’t Qiao Xi.

He was all too familiar with her voice; it was concern that caused chaos in his mind.

Still, he feared that the unsettling noises inside might be the cause of Qiao Xi’s disappearance.

That’s why he let the situation unfold as it did.

“Mr. Huo…”

Qiao Xi slowly approached, calling out softly.

She had witnessed the commotion from the outskirts of the crowd. Su Weiwei was the one who had run down the stairs in front of her, and Qiao Xi couldn’t understand why she would do such a thing with a man at such a major event.

But, Su Family’s affairs were none of her business.

Huo Xingzhou grasped her wrist; his body was burning up, the temperature felt wrong.

Qiao Xi looked up at him in surprise.

“Qiao Xi, let’s go back first,” he said with a hoarse voice, as if even the air he breathed out was scorching.
