Chapter 96: Chapter 96: Mr. Huo, Let’s Consummate our Marriage
Huo Xingzhou stretched out his warm hand, pinching her chin with the tips of his fingers, and looked into her clear eyes, “An insignificant woman.”
He naturally knew what she was going to ask.
So he gave her an answer.
“I…”
Qiao Xi lightly bit her lip.
She felt that their relationship wasn’t at a stage where such questions were appropriate.
“Sorry, Mr. Huo.”
Qiao Xi said, annoyed with herself.
Huo Xingzhou’s fingers moved lightly to her cheek, tracing down her snow-white neck, “I like that you ask.”
Qiao Xi couldn’t quite describe the feelings in her heart.
Suddenly.
The man leaned in close, his thin lips kissing her red ones.
Qiao Xi obediently closed her eyes.
A faint scent of alcohol and a slowly spreading air of intimacy.
She felt slightly dizzy, yet couldn’t help but sink into such tenderness.
She extended her hand, willingly wrapping it around his neck.
“Little Divine Doctor, is your lipstick poisonous?” he murmured lowly.
Between the exchanges of breath, all was scorching hot. Those pitch-black pupils became more lustrous, enchanting her very soul as he looked at her.
Qiao Xi’s face flushed deeply.
“No, it isn’t,” she had checked the ingredients.
“Then use it more often,” he said in a way that sent ripples through her heart.
Qiao Xi felt a wave of dizziness; he liked her lipstick.
In a very soft voice, she replied, “Mhm.”
The car quickly stopped at the small villa.
Aunt Qian went to the kitchen to busy herself when she saw them return, bringing two bowls of sweet soup directly to the master bedroom.
“Young master, Young Madam, you didn’t eat well outside, did you? I’ve made you some supper, please eat some.”
“Thank you, Aunt Qian.”
Qiao Xi said with a smile while Huo Xingzhou took off his
Aunt Qian let out a meaningful chuckle and then walked out.
Soon, there came a series of soft noises from outside the door, and it sounded like the door was being locked too.
Qiao Xi stood up alertly and went over to try the door handle.
Was it locked?
“Aunt Qian?”
Qiao Xi called out to the door.
There was no sound from outside; Aunt Qian had already walked far away.
“Mr. Huo, Aunt Qian has locked the door.”
“Hmm.”
Huo Xingzhou was very calm.
“So tonight…”
“Aunt Qian wants you to sleep here tonight,” Huo Xingzhou said, looking at her. “She did it on purpose. Because I didn’t use it even after taking it apart last night.”
Aunt Qian must be suspecting that he’s impotent, trying to create an opportunity for them.
Qiao Xi pursed her lips tightly, saying helplessly, “Oh.”
Her wry expression made the man unconsciously reveal a smile.
“You’ve slept here before,” he said, snaking off his tie with one hand, his gaze darkened as he looked at her, “need a lesson?”
“Huh?”
Huo Xingzhou placed her hand on his lower abdomen and with a click, he unbuckled his belt, pulled it out, and handed it to her, “Next time you come alone, I’ll take a shower.”
Soon, the sound of water came from the bathroom.
Qiao Xi sat up straight with decorum, obediently seated on the sofa, the belt in her hands still warm from his touch, scorching her cheeks.
She still couldn’t get used to sharing a bed with Mr. Huo and being alone with him.
What would happen tonight?
Would Mr. Huo consummate their relationship with her?
Huo Xingzhou’s phone lying on the coffee table suddenly began to vibrate, displaying an unfamiliar number. Qiao Xi was about to inform Huo Xingzhou when the call ended.
Shortly after.
The same number appeared on her phone screen, looking vaguely familiar.
But she couldn’t quite remember.
Qiao Xi swiped the screen and answered the call, “Hello, who is this?”
“I’m Xu Xingluo.”
The phone was met with a coquettish voice, “Is this Qiao Xi? I called Brother Xingzhou, but he didn’t answer. So I got your number from someone.”
Qiao Xi replied, “He’s taking a shower.”
Xu Xingluo’s breath hitched, and she laughed awkwardly, “Do you always use such tactics?”
“What?” Qiao Xi frowned.
Xu Xingluo spoke in a normal voice, “It’s nothing. I’ve upset Brother Xingzhou by showing up tonight, so I wanted to call and apologize. There are too many misunderstandings between us, and I know it’s normal for him not to want to see me.”
Qiao Xi was silent, not offering any comment.
“Qiao Xi, do you think he loves you?” Xu Xingluo asked, “Or are you two together because of the bonds of marriage or does he truly love you?”
Xu Xingluo chuckled, “Xingzhou is too outstanding. Even though he’s married, there are many women who flock to him. Can you keep him?”
Qiao Xi didn’t like her tone, so she said, “Call him after he’s finished showering.”
She hung up the phone and took a deep breath.
Her gaze fell on the steamy glass door and suddenly she felt bold enough to approach.
“Mr. Huo, how are your legs?”
She asked, her throat dry.
“They’re okay.”
The sound of water in the bathroom stopped, followed by the man’s deep voice.
“Is there anything you need me to get for you?” She stood at the door and asked softly.
“Qiao Xi.”
Huo Xingzhou pulled open the bathroom door, revealing his muscular upper body to Qiao Xi, causing her cheeks to heat up.
“Qiao Xi, if you want to look, you could just say so.”
“No.”
Qiao Xi was extremely embarrassed.
She was so stupid. Why bother being upset over some outsider’s words?
“Hmm, you didn’t want to look.”
He spoke with a hint of a smile at his lips, “Then help me dry my back.”
He stuffed the soft, dry towel into her hands.
Qiao Xi, clutching the towel, moved slowly behind him, gently wiping. She had done this sort of thing often enough.
She wasn’t so embarrassed to be mortified at this point.
“Mr. Huo, Miss Xu called you a while ago.” She couldn’t keep it to herself.
“What did she say?”
Huo Xingzhou asked in a cold voice.
“She said she was sorry for upsetting you by appearing there tonight.” Qiao Xi simply relayed Xu Xingluo’s message.
Huo Xingzhou showed no reaction.
“Do you want to call her back?” Qiao Xi peeked in and asked.
“Does the Little Divine Doctor hope I will call back?”
Huo Xingzhou turned around, his pale chest muscles facing her eyes.
Qiao Xi found them dazzling.
“What if she needs you for something?” She was reluctant in her heart, but sometimes women say the opposite of what they mean.
He wrapped his arms around her waist and said, “Your right hand still hasn’t healed, has it? I’ll wash you.”
He pulled her into the bathroom without accepting any refusals.
Qiao Xi did not even get the chance to say her refusal. As for the mobile phone left on the coffee table, Huo Xingzhou didn’t touch it all night.
The next day.
Aunt Qian finally unlocked the door before dawn.
After Qiao Xi got up, she was dragged to Cheng Han’s treatment room for a proper session of treatment.
He stroked his grizzled beard and said, “No serious harm done, just need to slowly recuperate for a while. I have a visitor today, someone you know, the owner of Fu’an Hall.”
“Are you and the owner of Fu’an Hall also friends?” Qiao Xi asked, curious.
“Yes. You can get a discount when you buy herbs from him in the future.”
“That’s great.”
At the mention of a discount, Qiao Xi was pleased.
Saving a little is still saving.
“Sister-in-law! Sister-in-law!”
Huo Sijiao’s voice came from the staircase.
Qiao Xi stood up and walked quickly out, puzzled as she asked, “Why have you come so early?”
“Sister-in-law, I’m going to accompany you to work!”
Huo Sijiao said, chin up and looking proudly self-assured.
She had received definite news from Zhou Yu the night before, warning her against Xu Xingluo’s tricks.
What do you think?
