The Absolute beast Tamer

Chapter 115: POINT OF NO RETURN

Today Alan received an order to head to meeting room 207, which was unusual as he has never been called like this, but he had an idea after all three days had passed, and probably the lieutenant wanted to know his final answer, which hasn't changed.

Standing in front of the metallic door of the office, Alan scanned his terminal to open the door, expecting the room to be empty as he came 15 minutes earlier than the designated time for the meeting.

No. 80: "Oh, you're here."

Alan: "Seniors, You two have been called too?"

No. 9: "We received the order this morning."

Alan: "It is good to see you two. How was your vacation, number 9?"

No. 9: "adequate"

No. 80: "Seriously, 9, why can't you answer like a human being? I had a nice time on this vacation, and I got a well-deserved rest that I needed. Thank you for asking, 33!!!"

No. 9: "It was okay."

No. 80: "You're hopeless!!"

Alan: "By the way, do you have any idea why you have been called here?"

No. 80: "I can see the whole picture now, probably about our decision to join the combat division."

Alan: "So from this batch only the three of us will proceed into the trial."

No. 9: "It is normal; sometimes none choose to participate in the trial because of how incredibly difficult it is, or that is all I've heard about it."

No. 80: "Yes, I received that warning from the advisor and the lieutenant before the vacation, but it's like they said nothing; there's almost no clear information about what kind of trial we have to go through."

Alan: "It is a wait and see for now."

No. 80: "By the way, you have already made your decision before you took your well-deserved rest. Are you sure you don't want to discuss it with your family?"

Alan smiled as he could not bring himself to tell his mother that he is going to participate in such a dangerous trial. Even though it's unfair for his family, he still chooses to participate secretly without telling them, as they will only worry about the uncontrollable future.

Alan: "Yeah, I had my goal from the moment I entered the program."

Right then the door opened, and the lieutenant, together with Doctor Han, entered the room.

Lieutenant Rock: "Good, I see that's all of you are here, so let's start the last confirmation of your decision and an important documents that you have to sign."

Dr. Han: "Hello everyone."

The three of them stood up as they saluted the lieutenant and the doctor before sitting down to start the meeting.

The lieutenant operated his personal terminal as soon as he sat down.

Lieutenant Rock: "Session number 330 alpha 09 starting now. My name is Lieutenant Rock, and I will be this session moderator."

Dr. Han: "My name is Dr. Han Throne, and I will be the counselor and the witness for the session."

Lieutenant Rock: "Please identify yourself for the record."

Although they were taken aback by the seriousness of the lieutenant and especially Dr. Han, who usually is a happy-go-lucky individual, the situation right now in the meeting room was like a formal meeting between a superior and their subordinate.

No. 80: "Seed number 80 is present."

No. 9: "Seat number 9 is present."

Alan: "Seat number 33 is present."

Lieutenant Rock: "Let the record confirm the beginning of this session.

Congratulations to all of you on completing the seed program successfully. The three individuals with a designated number 80 9 33 have decided to join the combat division of the organization, thereby agreeing to participate in the trial.

Please voice out the confirmation for the record of your willingness to participate in the trial of your own free will.

That is after knowing all the facts about the upcoming trial and the level of danger that you might find yourself in, which can result in a high chance of DIA and MIA.

For the record, DIA, death in action.

MIA, missing in action."

As the meeting proceeded further The serious atmosphere in the room intensified, especially when they were clearly talking about a death trial.

No. 80: "Seed number 80, I fully acknowledge the dangers of participating in the combat division trial, and by my own free will, I choose to participate and go through the trial."

No. 9: "Seed number 9, I fully acknowledge the dangers of participating in the combat division trial, and by my own free will, I choose to participate and go through the trial."

Alan: "Seed number 33, I fully acknowledge the dangers of participating in the combat division trial, and by my own free will, I choose to participate and go through the trial."

Dr. Han: "Let the record acknowledge the assessment of the counselor of the seeds as their decision came of their own free will; I acknowledge the psychological state of the participants is sound."

Lieutenant Rock: "Confirming with the free will act The record has been concluded for this session of obtaining the final decision of the seeds willing to join the combat division of the organization.

The records end here, over."

The moment Lieutenant Rock closed the recording on his terminal, everyone inside the room finally felt like breathing again, but after this last confirmation, reality was finally sinking in the souls and the eyes of the three seeds; one thought started resonating inside them: they are about to embark on a death mission.

Dr. Han: "Phew, that was exhausting."

Lieutenant Rock: "Please stay in character. The seeds still have to sign the death waiver."

No. 80: "death waiver!!"

Dr. Han: "Simply that you are acknowledging the fact that you are going on a very dangerous trial, and in the case you die or don't come back, the organization is not liable or responsible for your death. It is cruel, but this is reality."

No80: "Glup!!!"

The three of them took the huge stack of paper as they signed multiple different documents, finally crossing the point of no return.

Lieutenant Rock: "Okay, that's all for today. First, you two will be sent to the trial location tomorrow morning, and as for you, 33, I hope that you will take the vacation before you embark on the trial."

Alan: "I also have decided to take the vacation; thank you for your console, lieutenant."

Lieutenant Rock: "Good, now, I can't tell you what the trial is because I truly do not know. I myself choose not to participate or become a combatant, and many wish to know, but only those who made it back truly know what the trial is.

But the moment they come back, none have ever spoken about it.

The trial started 2,000 years ago by one of the highest beings of the human race with one goal and one goal only: to pick the true best of the best, quality over quantity—that is the core principle for the organization."

Number 80 was curious and had many questions, so he decided to take the chance to ask even if there was not much information to be gained in the first place, but whatever bits and pieces they could find were an advantage for them.

No. 80: "How long will we be in the trial?!"

Suddenly the lieutenant's expressions turned awkward as he looked at Dr. Han, not knowing how to answer this question.

Dr. Han: "Actually, this is an aspect that we can't help you with. From the long history of the trial, there was no fixed time to finish it.

Some finished it within a week, and others spent months up to a year. From the records that we have in the organization, if the individual did not come back in 2 years, then they will be declared MIA."

No. 9: "Is there any information that you can tell us that can help us or give us an advantage?"

There was awkward silence in the room until Dr. Han recited a line from a poem.

Dr. Han: "

Follow the true self to find the path,

Within the layers of existence, be aware of the wrath.

For shadows cling where brilliance brightly gleams,

And fractured echoes haunt our waking dreams.

The ego's whispers, sharp and subtly sly,

Can twist the vision in the inner eye.

So peel away the masks you've come to wear,

The borrowed judgments are burdens you must bear.

Unearth the kernel, pure and undefiled,

The quiet wisdom of the inner child.

Through tangled feelings, let your spirit soar,

Past bitter grievance knocking at the door.

For wrath, untended, festers and consumes,

A wildfire is raging in forgotten tombs.

Observe its tendrils, how they grip and bind,

The wounded places of the heart and mind.

Acknowledge anger, let its heat ignite,

But do not let it steer you through the night.

Instead, seek solace in the gentle rain.

The quiet strength that rises after pain.

Embrace compassion, both for self and all,

And watch the walls of bitterness begin to fall.

For in that space, where judgment starts to cease,

The truest compass finds its inner peace.

And on that path, where authenticity lies,

The deeper purpose finally will arise."

The passionate lines coming out of nowhere caught everyone off guard.

No. 80: "Permission to speak frankly, sir."

Lieutenant Rock: "Permission granted."

No80: "Dr. Han, That was weird as f***, and it means you don't know s***."
