The Annihilator: Killer Of Gods

Chapter 314 They are hiding something

"What is this place?" Elexa was the first to speak the moment they appeared.

"This is my personal training space," Karsha replied, expecting them to ask where or how he managed to get into such a place. But when they didn't seem surprised, he arched an eyebrow. 'They're hiding something,' he thought. But knowing this was to be expected, he decided to focus on the real reason he had called them there.

"I want to know more about laws," Karsha declared, dropping the bombshell that made the two ladies stiffen. His sudden declaration caught them completely off guard. Elexa glanced at Elara, clearly unsure of what to say.

"I'm not asking you to teach me how to learn any law. I just want to know what a law is." Seeing the strange looks on their faces, Karsha decided to clarify. "I'm not after knowledge on how to comprehend a law," he reassured them.

The tension eased as the two women sighed in relief and smiled, understanding that he wasn't seeking to learn how to master laws just yet. He wasn't ready for something that advanced.

"Alright," Elara said, stepping forward. "Laws are the fundamental principles that govern the universe. They're the rules that everything abides by, whether it's the flow of time, the force of gravity, or the elements themselves. To comprehend a law means to understand and manipulate these principles at their core."

Elexa nodded in agreement. "Exactly. It's not just about knowing the rules; it's about becoming one with them, bending them to your will. It's an incredibly complex and difficult process, which is why only the most advanced cultivators can even begin to grasp them."@@novelbin@@

Karsha listened intently, absorbing every word. This was the kind of information he needed. Knowing what laws were and their significance would help him prepare for when he was ready to delve deeper into this mysterious aspect of cultivation.

If he could grasp the concept of laws, he would be able to harness their power in his attacks, and even bend them to his will, just like Elexa mentioned. He had already reversed time once, thanks to the unknown emperor's watch, and now, he wanted to understand the principles behind such phenomena. The dark beam from the swirling pool had sparked his curiosity even further, making him eager to learn just how laws worked.

"So, can I know the principles behind a law?" Karsha asked, unsure if it was an appropriate question. But seeing Elara ready to respond, he sighed in relief.

Elara stepped forward, her expression thoughtful. "Understanding the principles behind a law is no small feat. Laws are like the threads that weave the fabric of reality. They govern everything—matter, energy, space, time, and more. To understand a law, you must first understand its essence, the very core of what makes it function."

Elexa chimed in, "Take the law of the time, for example. It's not just about clocks ticking or days passing. It's about the flow of events, the sequence of cause and effect. When you reversed time with that watch, you were tapping into the very essence of temporal flow. To truly comprehend it, you'd need to understand how time interacts with everything else, how it can be manipulated and bent without breaking reality." Karsha nodded ignoring the fact that Elexa knew of when he used the watch during his battle with Khinux. He rather focus on the principle trying to wrap his head around the concept. "So, it's like understanding the root of everything?"

"Exactly," Elara replied. "And once you understand that root, you can start to manipulate it. But it's a gradual process. You can't just dive in and expect to bend time or space. You need to build a foundation of knowledge and experience. It's like learning to walk before you can run."

"So, how do I know if something is the essence of a law?" Karsha asked, hesitating for a moment before adding, "You don't have to answer, but I'd be happy if you could tell me something." He thought about asking the system, but he knew it wouldn't be much help just yet.

Elara smiled, understanding his eagerness and curiosity. "The essence of a law is something you feel, deep within. It's not just about seeing or hearing; it's an understanding that transcends normal perception. When you encounter the essence of a law, you'll feel a connection to it, almost like a resonance within your soul."

Elexa nodded, adding, "It's like when you used the emperor's watch to reverse time. You didn't just activate an artifact; you felt the flow of time change and sensed the shift in reality. That's a glimpse of a law's essence. The more you experience and the deeper your understanding grows, the clearer these feelings will become."

Karsha considered their words, thinking back to the moments when he felt that deep, inexplicable connection. "So, it's about sensing and understanding, not just seeing?"

"Exactly," Elara said. "It's a profound intuition, something that comes with experience and a lot of introspection. You need to be in tune with yourself and the world around you. Meditation, practice, and exposure to different elements can help you get there."

Elexa smiled warmly. "And remember, every cultivator's journey is unique. How you come to understand and harness these essences will be up to your own path. You're still at the Grandmaster stage, so you won't feel these things just yet. Once you become a Sage and begin forming your path, you'll start sensing the essence we're talking about."

"I understand. Thanks for the help. I guess I was ahead of myself this time," Karsha said, a bit sheepish. As he mulled over their words, he had a sudden realization: the dark energy shooting from the sword pool had some form of law to it, a law he had no resistance against yet.

"By the way, why did you ask about this so suddenly?" Elexa asked, her curiosity getting the better of her.

"Oh, it's just a mutation that happened when I was training my technique. I accidentally discovered a form of the technique that might have invoked a law that keeps killing me," Karsha said with a smile.

"Huh, why are you still alive if it keeps killing you?" Elara asked, clearly puzzled.

"Well, it has something to do with the space I'm in. Whenever I die, I respawn here," Karsha explained, making the two ladies arch an eyebrow in surprise.

"Wait, how many times have you died so far?" Elexa asked, eyes wide.

"I lost count, but it's been a couple of hundred if not a thousand times," Karsha replied nonchalantly.

"What?!" the two ladies screamed in unison. "You've died a couple of hundred times? Are you alright?" Elara asked, examining Karsha's body like a concerned big sister.

"I'm fine. It's not really a true death anyway," Karsha shrugged it off, trying to reassure them.

Elara and Elexa exchanged incredulous looks, still processing what they had just heard. "You're something else, Karsha," Elexa finally said, shaking her head with a mix of admiration and exasperation.

"Yeah, well, it's all part of the journey, right?" Karsha said with a grin.

Elara sighed, but she couldn't help but smile. "Just be careful, alright? We don't want to lose you for real."

"Don't worry, I'll be fine," Karsha reassured them. "And thanks again for all the help."

With that, Karsha felt even more determined to understand the mysterious laws and the dark energy from the sword pool. Although he doesn't have the qualification just yet, once he becomes a sage, and starts comprehending his path, he will come back to it.

"I will be sending you away now, I will call you again when I need help," Karsha said to the two ladies before sending them back to his Soul Sea. He Vanished and appeared on a tall mountain.

Back inside his soul sea, two ladies stood facing each other, an unspoken tension hanging in the air. Elexa broke the silence, her voice tinged with concern. "Things are happening too fast, don't you think? He's already touched the Death Law. It's just a matter of time before he forms some kind of resonance with it."

"I know, but this is beyond our control," Elara replied, meeting Elexa's gaze with a knowing look. "Although she hasn't been discovered yet, I'm sure she will appear sooner or later."

"No need to look at me that way," Elexa said, feeling a bit embarrassed. "The last time we met was countless years ago. I won't be a problem this time around, I promise."

"I hope so. Although I don't know why, I believe the crucial junction he talked about has arrived. We wouldn't want to make things difficult for him, would we?"

"You have nothing to worry about," Elexa said, her expression softening. "This time, I have many things to teach him. When the time is right, I won't even have time to play around with any of you," she added with a hint of humor, looking almost saintly.

Elara shook her head and sighed. "He's growing up too fast, but this is also good. Once his presence is discovered, his peaceful days will come to an end. He has to prepare well, so growing up this fast is the best thing for him."

The two ladies stood in silence for a moment, both lost in thought as they considered Karsha's future. They had more to share, but they knew he wasn't ready to hear it just yet.

Elexa broke the silence, shifting the topic. "What about what's about to happen? Should we prompt him?"

"I'm sure he'll sense it on his own," Elara replied with a knowing smile. "Even though he's hiding it, that thing within his soul will alert him when the time comes. The island is changing, but that's a good thing. His people are about to enter a new age. He's going to need all the help he can get."

Elexa's smile widened. "She did promise to make things easier," she said, a hint of relief in her voice. "It's all coming together now."
