"Shit! What happened?!"

"Where is the ball? Can you see it?!"

For a moment, chaos fell on the court as everyone tried to get a better look at what was going on. Even though it wasn't the first time in this game, the collision between the aces of both teams bounded to be the main attraction here. After a second or two, though, everyone could finally see the ball fall in the tight space between Nitta's body and the net, which only meant one thing.

"Oh! Lucas wins the duel again!"

"As expected from the best player in the country! What a beast!"

"Come on, Lucas!"

"Let's go, Konan High!"

All of the supporters on the stand cheered excitedly as they saw Lucas celebrating on the court. Meanwhile, the situation on Kyoei's side was far from being good. They all stared worryingly at Nitta, knowing that their ace had a pretty bad temper. Oh, he wouldn't just go over the other side of the court and beat the opponent like a hooligan, but when his mood went downhill, Nitta sometimes could be an ass, not wanting to run or even put some effort in the game just like when they lost against Tsunemori High in the last Inter-high.

Fortunately, their worry here was proven to be unnecessary as Nitta took a deep breath, calming down himself before smiling awkwardly at his teammates. "What are you looking at?! That one is my fault, but don't worry! I will return this fucking humiliation tenfold later!"

Most of his teammates sighed in relief when they heard that. Nitta being rude was a good sign that the ace was still there, so they didn't have to worry that the boy would weigh the team once again like in the past. Haruo himself just grinned, then encircled his arm around his senpai's shoulder while laughing boisterously. "That is the spirit, Senpai! Let's return the humiliation we suffer tenfold in the next play!"

"Oh, shut up! You don't even get humiliated at all today! It is you who keep humiliating them!" Nitta shoved his kouhai away, yet the smile on his face told everyone that it was just a playful banter. However, it would be a lie if Nitta said he was not jealous of Haruo's state right now. The blonde boy was in the best condition that even the best team in the country had to pay special attention to him, something that Nitta was trying to do.

'I still need to work harder, it seems.' Thought the ace.

Due to the successful block Lucas did before, the score turned 3 – 0 for Konan High, and it was clear that the momentum was on the home side right now. Still, no panic could be seen on Kyoei's side since they were still in high spirits from the first set win before, and something like that would be hard to be washed away by just a couple of points loss here.

"Come on, Lucas! Give me one more serve!"

"Kill that boy again!"

It seemed the bad blood formed between Konan High and Haruo after the first set was still there and the supporters wouldn't feel satisfied unless they watched Haruo getting humiliated by their favorite player, and by how Lucas still targeting the blonde boy, it was clear that Konan's ace also felt the same.

BAM!

Fortunately, once again, Haruo managed to save it, and this time, his receive was perfect, right above Yamada in the middle of the court. Hell, the setter didn't have to move for even a single inch as he saw the ball coming straight to the spot above his head. Seeing this, of course, he wouldn't waste such a good ball as the boy set up a quick attack to catch Konan High off guard.

"Oh, come on! This is fucking ridiculous!" Ito cursed out loud when he saw Akihiro manage to soften the blow from him. The quick attack planned by the setter and the captain failed just like that, resulting in another chance for Konan High to attack.

"Snap it off, Cap! Go back! Get ready to defend!" Haruo shouted, moving forward to set a blocker line with Nitta and Kusuda. They all waited patiently until Sawada was about to pass the ball again, and when Konan's setter did that, those three moved together in such a tight space like a machine.

"Together with me! One! Go!"

BAM!

"Hell, yeah!" Haruo couldn't help but grin when he felt the ball hit his hand and it bounced far to the uncomfortable spot in Konan's back row. However, before he could celebrate it, hell even before he could land on the floor, he saw the Brazilian boy who was on the left side of the court after serving the ball now crossed the entire wing to save the play, and as the boy dived once again just as he did in the last play, Haruo knew what was going to happen next. "Shit! Recover quickly!"

Brugh!

"Oh! What a save!"

"Good job, Lucas!"

Even though he had to hit the bench to save the ball, Lucas didn't hesitate to do so, swinging his arm to hit the ball back to the court once again. While some of them flinched unconsciously at the harsh sound of the impact Lucas suffered – everyone knew that would hurt like hell – they still cheered loudly, knowing the boy had already done everything to keep the ball alive.

As for Haruo himself, if only he wasn't the one who was denied a point from Lucas's incredible save, he would be the first one who stand up and applaud the Brazilian boy for it. Unfortunately, he couldn't do so right now as the blonde boy had to recover from the last block quickly.

"No time to gather again! Nitta-senpai, keep your eyes on the left! Kusuda-senpai, fall back! Let me handle the rest!" He thought quickly before commanding his teammates.

Those two did as he said immediately, trusting Haruo 100 percent in this situation. Even though Haruo was just a freshman, they knew what he was capable of, and it was no shame to follow his arrangement. Now, they had to keep their eyes on Matsumoto and Kenta Maeda, the last two attackers who could threaten their defense here, while Haruo himself stared intently at Sawada, waiting for Konan's setter to unleash the ball.

However, to everyone's surprise, Sawada didn't pass the ball to those who all the people there thought obvious to receive the pass. In fact, he waited until the last second before sending the ball behind to the back row, and when everyone was confused about who Sawada passed the ball to, Haruo widened his eyes in realization.

"Oh, shit!"

Unfortunately, he was one second too late, as Lucas who everyone dismissed from the equation after his amazing save earlier had already recovered and joined the attack with the other Konan players. As the ball was going in his direction, the Brazilian boy grinned widely as he unleashed another powerful spike to pierce the opponent's defense.
