Chapter 78 - 78 78 Nan Juefeng
Chapter 78: Chapter 78 Nan Juefeng Chapter 78: Chapter 78 Nan Juefeng Jiang Man prepared for three days.
In these three days, she took a driving test and obtained her driver’s license.
On September 5th, the freshmen at Beiyin Institute officially started their enrollment and registration.
Since registration lasted for a week, there was no rush for Jiang Man to go immediately.
For the past few days, Lu Xingzhou had been marinating in the company, having not returned home for three straight days.
Early in the morning, Wu Yingfan appeared in front of Villa No. 8 driving his flashy Lamborghini.
Jiang Man dressed up specially for today.
She heard that the auction at the Urban Construction Bureau was very formal; members participating in the auction had to attend in formal attire.
She was accustomed to being casual. Usually, wearing a T-shirt with jeans and topping it off with a baseball cap was her idea of perfect.
Today, she took out her rarely worn Chanel style suit.
The full black diamond-studded outfit, once worn, added refinement to her icy demeanor, making her seem gentler.
Her usually crisp high ponytail had been fashioned into a bun, giving off a more obedient vibe.
She exchanged her flip-flops for a pair of flat leather shoes.
Wu Yingfan got out of the car, pulled down the sunglasses on the bridge of his nose, and gave Jiang Man a thorough up-and-down look.
“My, my, Jiang Man, you have undergone a transformation today!”
Jiang Man tossed her car keys to him, her expression indifferent, “Not driving your piece of junk, driving mine.”
“Jiang Man, my car is over ten million, how is it junk?”
“Junk.” Jiang Man was succinct, sassy, and cool.
Wu Yingfan couldn’t help but laugh and cry as he glanced at her red G-Wagon.
If he remembered correctly, wasn’t that G-Wagon only one or two million?
But well, whatever Jiang Man said was right.
“Jiang Man, didn’t you just get your driver’s license?” Wu Yingfan asked casually.
“Lazy.” Jiang Man slid into the passenger seat of the G-Wagon, busying herself with work on the tablet.
Wu Yingfan scratched his head.
Cough, an unnecessary question.
Even in the U.S., didn’t he also act as her personal chauffeur?
Jiang Man was reviewing the auction process and the major competitors of Lu’s company.
When her gaze landed on the profile of the CEO of Nan’s Group, her scholarly brows quirked.
The man was very handsome, in that scholarly-playboy kind of way.
A custom tailored suit hugged his frame, and a pair of gold-rimmed glasses perched on his nose.
At first glance, he exuded an air of scholarly polish, but a closer look revealed the keen edge beneath his lens.
When Jiang Man noticed the mole under the man’s lip, she felt a sense of familiar recognition. She couldn’t shake the feeling that she had seen him somewhere before.
“Nan, Jue, Feng.”
Jiang Man enunciated each syllable of the man’s name.
When the car arrived at the auction site—One Mansion, Wu Yingfan furrowed his brows.
“So many media.”
Jiang Man lazily lifted her eyes and indeed saw a swarm of reporters poised as if waiting for someone.
“Go around the back,” she said indifferently.
“Jiang Man, why don’t you go in first? I’ll find a parking spot.” Wu Yingfan looked around; all the spots were taken.
“Okay.” Jiang Man also noticed there were no spaces; finding a spot would surely take time.
She got out of the car, carrying her tablet, deliberately avoiding a crowd of bustling reporters. She planned to circumvent them by ascending the farthest set of stairs, in a Z-shaped path inside.
Unexpectedly, just as she was about to take the steps, a black nanny van pulled up.
Subsequently, reporters swarmed, trapping her in an impenetrable circle.
“Mr. Nan, we’ve heard that you’re determined to win the land in the northern part of the city?”
“The land was almost negotiated by Lu’s company. Why did it end up going through the auction process? Mr. Nan, would you care to explain the reasons?”
“Mr. Nan, you’ve been single for many years, do you have any plans to find a girlfriend in the near future?”
…
The microphones, competing fiercely, thrust forward to the front of the nanny van.
Two tall and burly bodyguards were the first to step out of the nanny van, protecting the man behind them as they cleared a path.
“Sorry, our CEO does not accept private interviews. If you want to interview him, please schedule an appointment in advance.”
“Ah? Young Master Nan! Young Master Nan!”
As Nan Juefeng moved forward, a group of journalists swarmed toward him as well.
Jiang Man was the unluckiest one, quite tall but slender and frail. A push from the crowd, and she lost her balance, even though she had trained in the horse-riding stance.
“Absolutely crazy!”
Jiang Man shook her head and decided to step back, not willing to compete with the fanatics.
At the front, Nan Juefeng, upon hearing this voice, furrowed his brows sharply and suddenly turned around.
Across the sea of people, he caught a glimpse of a particularly distinctive figure.
The girl was beautiful and tall, standing proudly.
Even just from her profile, one could sense her aloof temperament.
Like her…
Nan Juefeng was momentarily distracted.
“President?”
His secretary reminded him, bringing him back to reality.
“Go check out…” He stopped abruptly before finishing his sentence.
Because when he looked back again, that elegant figure had suddenly disappeared, as if it were just an illusion he had conjured up.
“President?” The secretary looked up, puzzled.
“It’s nothing.” Nan Juefeng smiled and strode into the venue without hesitation.
Upon entering, a staff member led him to a seat in the first row.
He glanced at his seat, in the middle, with the director of the Urban Construction Bureau on one side and Lu Xingzhou’s seat on the other.
At this moment, Lu Xingzhou had not yet arrived; he was early.
“Mr. Nan, please take a seat. May I ask what you would like to drink?” a staff member asked attentively.
Nan Juefeng waved his hand with a bland response, “Whatever.”
“Mr. Lu loves tea, how about brewing a pot of Pre-Rain Longjing tea for Mr. Nan as well?”
“Sure.”
After the staff member left, Nan Juefeng gestured for the bodyguards to step back.
Secretary Shen Yu sat next to him, pulling out a packet of wet wipes from her bag.
She then knelt down and wiped Nan Juefeng’s leather shoes with the wet wipes.
Nan Juefeng had a severe obsession with cleanliness, especially regarding his shoes.
He had an almost paranoid attitude towards his footwear; they couldn’t have a speck of dust on them.
“President, they’re clean now.” Shen Yu nodded slightly and turned to throw away the trash.
Nan Juefeng had long been accustomed to this routine, crossing his superior long legs, his polished shoes shining under the natural light.
When Jiang Man entered the venue, she immediately noticed the man in the front row.
Her seat was in the last row.
It wasn’t that she couldn’t get a better seat; she just didn’t like to be ostentatious.
“Manjie, was that Nan Juefeng just now? What a big scene! The journalists were all over him.”
When Wu Yingfan walked in, he handed Jiang Man a small jar of Eclipse.
Jiang Man saw that it was blueberry flavored and poured two into her palm before popping them into her mouth to chew.
“Yes, it was him.” She replied indifferently.
The biggest rival at today’s auction was the Nan Corporation.
However, she wasn’t worried. If it were just the Nan Corporation, how could they compete with her?
Those sitting in the back row didn’t have the privilege to order, and soon the staff brought them two bottles of mineral water.
Who knew how long had passed when Lu Xingzhou finally appeared.
His fashionably late arrival sent a buzz through the venue.
He hadn’t even reached the first row when people felt the lethal aura emanating from him.
The main event was about to start, and it was time to see who truly had financial power!
What do you think?
