Chapter 1059: Left Hand of God
Chapter 1059: Left Hand of God
Green Lotus Lake.
Three sharp bone stings short out from Wang Zikai’s clenched right fist. With a stomp, he launched himself toward the crater in a golden blur, where Qilin lay buried under rubble and scorched soil.
Three pillars of earth elements erupted from Qilin's position, snaking toward Wang Zikai with serpentine agility. Just as fluidly, Wang Zikai twisted his body midair, making a flurry of crimson slashes that reduced the earth snakes to segments like a chef cutting spring onions.
Wang Zikai never slowed. In two seconds, Qilin was within his reach.
The smoke and dust had cleared. Qilin remained embedded in the crater, too late to free himself. When the stolen Earth failed to stop Wang Zikai, he immediately accessed Lion's Roar.
With his unusually high Willpower and Charisma, Qilin unleashed an intense sonic attack. The force that could shatter a regular man's internal organs swept toward Wang Zikai, finally slowing his advance. Just when it seemed the sonic waves would throw him off—
Close enough!
Wang Zikai snapped his right fist forward, the three bone stingers shooting toward Qilin like lasers.
Whoosh. The bone stings pierced through the soundwaves and penetrated Qilin’s body, avoiding the vitals.
Success!
Wang Zikai didn’t have the time to feel happy about it before he realized: this Qilin’s too weak!
Can this be...a double?
Having just arrived, Wang Zikai didn't know that Qilin could steal any Talent inside Lord of Puppet's domain of dominance. He'd fallen for the trap.
Moments ago, after losing the battle of strength against Wang Zikai's punch, Qilin had immediately stolen Gao Yang's Double for five seconds—since his previous Double had been through Replicate, he could still steal it directly. And this new double could steal Talents too, allowing it to take both Earth and Veggie's Lion Roar.
The double had then feigned being trapped in the crater, launching two attacks from its prone position. Wang Zikai never suspected a thing as he used Grim Reaper's Spear.
Now, the real Qilin appeared beside Wang Zikai, quickly dismissing Double and stealing Magic Hair.
Qilin’s chestnut-colored hair grew quickly into thick wires, wrapping tightly around Wang Zikai.
You think this is gonna stop me?!
Wang Zikai scoffed silently, flexing to break out of the hold.
Qilin knew he couldn't restrain Wang Zikai this way. Before Wang Zikai could break loose, Qilin jerked his head and sent him flying.
In that instant, Qilin deactivated Magic Hair and stole Raven Shark's Dimensional Storage, using it from long range.
A gap in space opened ten meters behind Wang Zikai.
It dawned on Wang Zikai that Qilin never intended to fight him head-on. The man just wanted to trap him in the Dimensional Storage!
Wang Zikai was already flying. He didn’t have Talents like Fly or Gale. No matter how powerful he was, he couldn’t alter his trajectory midair. When he was about to fall into the subspace, he resolved himself to use Grim Reaper’s Spear once more. He could stop his momentum by extending his bone stings far enough to pierce into the ground—however, using the skill again so soon would severely drain him, leaving him at a disadvantage.
Suddenly, Wang Zikia caught something in the corner of his eyes.
Qing Ling! She had sent three Black Gold darts to the mouth of the Dimensional Storage with Metal, crisscrossing them to form a stepping point!
Relief flooding in him, Wang Zikai stepped on the darts and jumped back toward Qilin with a powerful stomp. Unable to endure the powerful step, the three darts whooshed into the Dimensional Storage. It closed with a hum the next second.
Qilin started.
He hadn't expected to deal with Wang Zikai so easily, but it caught him completely off guard when Wang Zikai escaped effortlessly thanks to Qing Ling's help—and the young man now approached with even greater speed.
After tossing Wang Zikai away with Magic Hair, the counterforce had sent Qilin flying, too. With no time to get out of the way, he stole Adept Horse’s Light.
The world dimmed for a second. A flood of light elements gathered behind Qilin, taking the form of three towering crescents of blinding radiance.
Wang Zikai smiled. He didn’t even intend to change his course. Tucking his legs to dodge the first arc of moonlight, he twisted his body to avoid the second. Then he slapped his hands together to take the third arc like an ant catching a golden petal.
Qilin couldn’t believe it.
The arcs weren’t physical things that could be touched, but streaking light. How could Wang Zikai catch one with bare hands?!
It was as impossible as grasping light, yet Wang Zikai, holding the crescent of light ten times his size, rotated his body and hurled it back toward Qilin at double the speed.
Dammit!
Qilin quickly stole Gale, splaying his hands and conjuring three translucent wind barriers before him.
It proved futile. The crescent, accelerated by Wang Zikai's throw, sliced through the barriers like tissue paper and struck Qilin squarely.
The crescent shattered into flying light particles while Qilin skipped across the ground like a stone on water, bouncing and tumbling for dozens of meters before crashing into the marble railing on the riverbank.
Haha! Wang Zikai crowed inwardly. That was the move he had recently discovered.
He called it the Left Hand of God.
In previous fights, he'd noticed that while he couldn't produce bone stingers with his left hand, he could “catch” anything with it. Whatever move his opponent made, as long as it was visible and contained concentrated energy, Wang Zikai could catch it and return it at double the speed and power.
The skill came with a cooldown, of course. He couldn't spam it without limit, and the Left Hand of God couldn't handle every type of attack—at least not yet. Rule-type and domain-type attacks remained beyond his grasp, and moves like poisonous mist were too difficult to catch.
“Weakling!”
Wang Zikai pursued with a powerful leap.
Qilin had already struggled to his feet. Across his chest gaped a bleeding gash that revealed raw flesh and shattered ribs. His pounding heart was nearly visible through the wound.
He stole Dead Pig's Self Recovery. His flesh and bones knitted together at a visible rate, but he had mere seconds.
Wang Zikai was already upon him, allowing no time to recover.
Qilin's time was running out. Equivalent Exchange would soon claim his life. He had to deal with Wang Zikai now, but he couldn't exhaust all his energy in the fight. If he left himself too weak to complete the Spinning Top Plan, he would win this battle only to lose the war.
A glint of madness flashed through his eyes. He would make one desperate gamble.
What do you think?
