Chapter 321. Lizard And Dragon V
Dragon King's Harem Chapter 321. Lizard And Dragon V
I responded with a flick of my fingers, invoking my Dispel skill to peel away my disguise. The disguise dissolved, revealing my true form with horns protruding proudly above my head and eyes ablaze in a vivid shade of blue. "Long time no see, Viperax," I greeted.
However, this wasn't a playful unveiling akin to when I met Jyne. Instead, a clear seriousness mirrored by my expression. Even Viperax abandoned any pretense of amusement, his countenance etched with displeasure.
The only one seemingly on the verge of panic was the baron, caught in the crossfire of this unexpected revelation.
"Argod," Viperax hissed, the name rolling off his tongue with a blend of irritation and disdain. "Are you trying to make a grand entrance? That's lame," he critiqued.
I chuckled, my amusement evident. "A grand entrance?" I echoed with a sly grin. "Do you think I enjoy playing around like that?" I posed the question. "Or... is it because of something else?" With a casual snap of my fingers, I initiated the unraveling of our disguises.
In response to my signal, Jyne, Evelina, and Eir shed their cloaks, revealing their true selves. I extended a sweeping gesture toward them. "Let me introduce you," I declared. "This is the princess of the Healer Tribe, my first wife, Evelina," I announced with a flourish. "And the princess of the Fox Tribe, my third wife, Jyne," I continued, shifting my focus to Jyne. My gaze then landed on Eir. "Also, my trusted assistant, Eiron," I concluded.
My gaze returned to Viperax, a grim acknowledgment etched into my expression. "The last time, your baron—" I began, but my words suspended by Viperax's swift and decisive action. With a single fluid motion, he unsheathed his sword and severed his baron's head in a unerring blow.
The baron's head tumbled forward. His lifeless body followed suit, collapsing like a marionette with severed strings.
Viperax's wives, caught in a horror, unleashed shrill screams.
Jyne and Evelina, their hands instinctively covering gaping mouths.@@novelbin@@
On the periphery, Eir and Al exchanged a sharp look. Their bodies tensed, prepared to retaliate if the lizard king's actions escalated beyond the punishment.
"It seems you are right about my baron. He's so stupid. I hope you're not offended by that," Viperax remarked casually, as if discussing the weather rather than the beheading of a subordinate. He gestured to his soldiers with a nonchalant wave, prompting them to commence the cleanup. The lizard tribe soldiers swiftly carried out their monarch's orders.
I met Viperax's admission with a measured gaze. "I haven't said anything, yet you've killed him. How do you know he wronged you? Didn't you defend him just now?" I probed.
The unspoken tension threading through the oasis. Viperax, accustomed to the intricacies of tribal politics, offered a cryptic response. "I have my own considerations," he declared.
"Not because you know it doesn't benefit you anymore?" I pressed, my tone unwavering. "You intended to make me execute my own people, but it didn't work, so you simply wanted to end this problem by killing the baron. Am I, right?" I declared.
Viperax's response came in the form of a derisive chuckle. "I simply remove dumb people from my court," he retorted, a dismissive wave accompanying his words. "He can't differentiate between royals and commoners, so he doesn't deserve to be in my government," he added.
I couldn't help but scoff at the audacity of his perspective. "But you also didn't realize it was me," I pointed out, a sly grin playing on my lips. "Are you saying that you don't deserve to be in your own court either?" I quipped, exploiting the irony embedded in Viperax's actions.
Viperax's response was a concoction of forced laughter and a dark jest. "That's a good joke, dragon king. I thought hibernation had killed your sense of humor, but it seems it's still there. Well, I'd prefer something else that's dead," he retorted, his words dripping with a venomous sarcasm.
