The Echoes of Eternity
Ling's eyes narrowed, his gaze fixed on Mu. He didn't like the sound of this, but he knew he had to see it through.
"When do I start?" he asked, his voice cold and emotionless.
Mu's smile grew wider, her lips curving upwards in a sly smile. "You start now," she said, her voice dripping with confidence. "I've already made the arrangements. You'll be meeting with one of my agents, who will provide you with more information about the Azure Sect and your target."
Ling's face twisted with doubt, his eyes fixed on Mu. He didn't like the sound of this, but he knew he had to trust her. At least, for now.
"Who's the agent?" he asked, his voice cold.
Mu's smile grew wider, her eyes glinting with amusement. "Ah, that's a surprise," she said, her voice dripping with malice. "But don't worry, Ling. You'll be in good hands. My agent will take care of you."
Ling's eyes narrowed, his gaze fixed on Mu. He didn't like the sound of this, but he knew he had to trust her. At least, for now.
"Fine," he said, his voice cold. "I'll meet with the agent. But I better not be double-crossed, Mu."
Mu's expression turned serious, her eyes flashing with intensity. "I promise you, Ling," she said, her voice low and mysterious. "You'll be safe. At least, for now."
The Mission Begins
Ling and Mu walked out of the meeting room, their footsteps echoing through the empty hallways. The air was thick with tension, the weight of their agreement hanging heavy over them.
"So, what's the mission?" Ling asked, his voice cold and detached.
Mu's eyes gleamed with a fierce light, her expression intense. "You're going to eliminate the leader of the Azure Sect," she said, her voice dripping with malice.
