The Eerie Immortal Path: Begin by Devouring Fairy Flesh

Chapter 4 – Fairy also wants to suck me dry!

He had been a man in both his lives, so how did he suddenly become a woman?

What was going on? Could he change back?

Brandon Jiang's heart couldn't calm down.

The only thing he was sure of was that before he took that strange pill, his body hadn't shown any signs of change.@@novelbin@@

Was it the pill?

Upon reaching this conclusion, Brandon felt so upset he wanted to vomit blood.

What kind of sick person was that Villain of the Blood Sea? What kind of messed-up pill did he make? Wasn't it supposed to be a Qi Gathering Pill? How did it have the effect of changing one's gender?

This was literally killing people without taking responsibility...

Wait, something's not right!

Brandon suddenly realized something and looked at the eleven male skeletons around him. A sense of relief washed over him.

If the change in his gender was really due to the pill, then it had indirectly saved his life.

Otherwise, he would have ended up like those boys.

Thinking of this, Brandon let out a long breath.

There were more pressing matters to deal with. His gender could wait; his life was the most important thing.

This Heavenly Lotus Sect Fairy was a man-killing maniac. His current female identity was his biggest shield.

Having figured everything out, Brandon calmed down and cautiously observed the movements of the Heavenly Lotus Sect Fairy.

She slowly retracted her holy light, her expression still filled with compassion, pure and unassailable.

If not for witnessing her slaughter eleven innocent lives, no one would believe she was a cruel demon.

The remaining girls were so scared they didn't dare to breathe. Though their hearts were full of fear, they didn't dare to show it.

The Heavenly Lotus Sect Fairy led them out of the hall, and the surviving girls finally saw the sunlight outside.

She glanced at the girls and said indifferently, "You may leave."

Hearing this, the girls felt as if they had been granted amnesty. They didn't dare to linger and ran away with all their might, disappearing in the blink of an eye.

Brandon also wanted to blend into the crowd and escape, but he had only taken a few steps when Jessica Yu grabbed him.

Her eyes were burning, as if looking at a delicious prey. "You can't leave. You're my trophy."

Ignoring Brandon's resistance, Jessica summoned a flying boat out of thin air and threw him onto it, then boarded the boat and left.

Three days later, the flying boat slowed down and descended.

Brandon walked out onto the deck and saw that the boat was hovering in mid-air. In the distance was a lotus-shaped fairy mountain.

Below the flying boat was a crowded square, filled with girls around Brandon's age.

Directly in front of Brandon were three Heavenly Lotus Sect Fairies seated on clouds.

These three varied in age and appearance: one was an old woman with white hair and a gloomy face, another was a mature and elegant middle-aged beauty, and the last was a young girl, fresh and pretty, with a lazy demeanor.

However, among the three, the young girl held the central position, with the other two deferring to her.

Noticing the arrival of the flying boat, the three fairies came forward to respectfully greet the stunning fairy on the boat.

"We greet Senior Sister Yu."

"Senior Sister Yu, this mortal is..."

Jessica Yu glanced at Brandon and said calmly, "A sacrificial furnace who has awakened a Spiritual Root. Since our sect's assessment is about to begin, I brought her along."

The three fairies understood, but Brandon shuddered.

Sacrificial furnace? What did that mean? Was it what he thought it was?

Were these ethereal fairies going to drain him too?

Brandon felt as if he had fallen into an ice cave, his heart completely cold.

Jessica Yu glanced at Brandon and said coldly, "Don't worry, there are tens of thousands of sacrificial furnaces here. Some of them will survive. You might not die."

She then looked at the three fairies and smiled faintly. "It's not easy to get a chance to host the assessment. Make the most of it!"

With that, she waved her hand, sending Brandon down to the square.

Brandon landed in the square, unnoticed by anyone, clearly another of Jessica Yu's immortal techniques.

He suppressed his fear and waited for the so-called "assessment."

At this moment, the three fairies who had been talking to Jessica Yu revealed themselves. Their gazes were cold and indifferent, completely different from their respectful demeanor towards Jessica Yu.

It seemed that in their eyes, these mortals were no different from insects.

Unlike Brandon, who had seen the true nature of the Heavenly Lotus Sect, the mortal girls around him looked at the three fairies with admiration and longing.

Seeing this, Brandon shook his head slightly.

He could almost foresee that this entrance assessment would be a bloodbath. When the time came, he wondered what expressions these mortal girls would have.

The young fairy scanned the crowd and said indifferently, "The entrance assessment of our Heavenly Lotus Sect has two stages. The first stage is simple. I will ask a question, and if your answer satisfies me, you can proceed to the next stage."

"I will ask the question now. Listen carefully."

Everyone's hearts tightened, and their expressions became extremely serious.

The young fairy spoke slowly, "This is a true event that happened in the past: A cultivator, on the verge of a breakthrough, realized that the moment he broke through, his aura would explode, killing all the mortals around him.

He was in a city with a population of 100,000. If he broke through there, all 100,000 people would die. To the east of the city was a small town with a population of 10,000. If he moved to the town to break through, the 100,000 people in the city would be saved, but the 10,000 people in the town would die.

So, if you were this cultivator, would you stay and let 100,000 mortals die, or move to the town and kill 10,000?"

Hearing this question, Brandon initially didn't think much of it, but upon closer thought, he realized there was a huge trap.

Setting aside the moral dilemma of 100,000 lives versus 10,000 lives, what human lives meant to these cultivators was the biggest challenge.

The four Heavenly Lotus Sect Fairies he had encountered were all ruthless killers who treated mortals like pigs and sacrificial furnaces.

For them, which option—killing 100,000 or 10,000—was more to their liking was hard to say.

And if he chose wrong, his fate would be miserable.

For a moment, Brandon was deep in thought.

The other girls around him were even more shocked, some pondering deeply, others discussing intensely.

"If we don't move, 100,000 will die. If we move, only 10,000 will die. Shouldn't we choose the latter?"

"But whether it's 100,000 or 10,000, they are all living beings. How can I decide who should die?"

"Why can we only choose between these two options? Isn't there a better choice?"

The crowd was confused and terrified. Despite there being only two options, no one could give an answer.

Having grown up in the mortal world, these girls were simple and kind, never having had such cruel thoughts. This question was a huge shock to them.

After a long time, a girl finally mustered the courage to step forward and give her answer.

"Reporting to the three fairies, I believe that if I were the cultivator, I would move to the town with 10,000 people, thus causing 90,000 fewer deaths."

Hearing this answer, the young fairy smiled.

She lightly pointed her finger, and in the next moment, the girl who answered was instantly drained into an old woman.
