The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 491 Killing Damasko

'It seems that my battle power is still shy of the later stages of the Apotheosis Realm.'

The Scarlet King was not surprised or too disappointed at this realization. After all, it made sense that someone already preparing their soul for the Divine Ascension Rank would be much more powerful than other Apotheosis Realm Masters.

Of course, the fact that the Scarlet King could not defeat Damasko did not mean his life was in danger, as he had yet to suffer any severe injuries and could simply choose to escape. With his mastery over the Law of Shadows and Void State, hiding his presence would not be a problem.

Not to mention that, unlike the Tier 1 Dark Factions' Leaders, there was no problem if the powerful people in the military detected his presence. After all, he was a scout from the Colossus Imperial Fort.

The Scarlet King just dodged a blow to the head, but instead of responding with another slash from his saber, he unleashed a blast of shadows that hindered Damasko's sight and perception.

The Deus Behemoth's vision was affected, but he immediately reacted, making his entire body rotate, creating a vortex of energy that worked both as a defense and to shred the shadows around him.

After the shadows vanished, Damasko saw how the Scarlet King had adopted a battle stance in the distance, and now the avatar of death and blood was by his side. Lamina moved to his left, and there was an expression of exhaustion on the woman, as facing the Demonic Phantom was not easy.

"Sorry, I was not able to stop it from retreating. The creature's power and vitality are too high."

"It is fine. You did very well keeping the avatar from bothering me all this time. I appreciate it."

Damasko did not blame the woman for failing to detain the Demonic Phantom since he had already clashed with it several times and knew just how powerful it was.

"He is tired, and the energy in the avatar is also draining. Although we might be unable to stop him from escaping, we might find an opening and land a crippling blow."

Lamina's eyes grew solemn as she heard those words, and she took a deep breath as her energy coalesced around her arms, morphing them into sharp branches coated in dark poison.

"If you can take the lead and overwhelm him with the power of your attacks for a few seconds, I might be able to find an opening and harm him or at least destroy the avatar. I am sure that he would not be able to summon another one in his current condition and with his energy pool, and if my dark poison enters his bloodstream, we might be able to kill him."

Although taking the lead and facing the avatar and man at the same time was dangerous, Damasko knew it only made sense for him, as the Astral Rebirth Cultivator, to do it. He nodded to the woman as he felt the immense power gathering in her poisonous branches before making his Astral Wave burst again and flash forward.

The Scarlet King took a deep breath as his energy pool burst, and he and the Demonic Phantom flashed forward. Just as the duo planned to land a crippling wound on him, he also planned to deal some hard blows before taking the chance and flying away.

However, just as Damasko was about to clash with the Scarlet King and the Demonic Phantom, his eyes widened as a sharp poisonous branch pierced his back and emerged from the other side of his chest. The man could barely believe it as he saw the wound and realized that Lamina had taken the chance to land a sneak attack on him.@@novelbin@@

Lamina showed a smile full of viciousness as she pierced the back of the man, her eyes full of ecstasy, as if she had fulfilled her greatest dreams.

Damasko felt his internal organs rupturing and the poison rotting his blood, but he clenched his teeth and struck back, hitting the woman's chest with his forearm.

The power in Damasko's forearm was high enough to leave an indentation in Lamina's chest. Despite the damage and pain, her smile did not vanish, and she used the strike's momentum to fly away.

Just like Damasko, the Scarlet King was shocked by the sudden attack of the woman and did not know why she would do that, but he was not one to lose a chance and attacked with all his power.

Damasko was too wounded and was unable to block the blade from slashing his chest open, just so the Demonic Phantom would lunge at him the next second and crash into the ground.

"¡BOOOOMMMM!"

An explosion made the ground tremble as the Demonic Phantom burst apart, unleashing all its energy before the Blood Nails returned to the Scarlet King. He then descended to the ground and stared at the mangled body of Damasko.

Despite all the wounds and horrible damage he had undergone, there was still some light in the eyes of the Deus Behemoth, full of rage and frustration.

"I honestly believed that of everybody, you would be the one to survive. That woman had been waiting for this chance for a long time.

The Scarlet King did not say anything else before tapping the man's head, ending his life, and just as he did that, Damasko's body began to morph.

A flash of surprise appeared in Cain's eyes as Damasko's face changed, but that was just the start since the next second, the blue draconic scales on Damasko's body turned into a bronze exoskeleton as the tail vanished.

The Scarlet King was not really surprised to see Damasko's face changing since it made sense he would not reveal his true identity, but the other physical characteristics did not make much sense.

There was nothing to gain from them, not to mention it would feel uncomfortable at the moment of fighting.

"How odd."

Although it was strange, the Scarlet King did not bother with it and recovered the corpses before leaving.
