Chapter 602: 602 Starworld
Chapter 602: Chapter 602 Starworld
Time flowed like water, gently passing by.
Unnoticed, two years had gone by, without any trace of Lin Xiao being found, either amongst the natives or the Sons of the Divine Realm. Even among the many descending beings spread throughout the Primary Material Plane, there were no messages to be had.
The White Snake Sect sent people to surveil Li Mei, who was related to Lin Xiao, to see if the target could be waited out. However, over these two years, Li Mei had remained in her clan’s small town. Those sent to monitor had been there for nearly two years, and everyone in the town, from the mayor down to the beggars, recognized them. The identities of outsiders entering the town were mostly traceable, and no suspicious individuals had been seen.
This led White Snake and the others to once believe that Lin Xiao had returned, but a message from a covert channel informed them that Lin Xiao had not yet returned.
“Carrying on like this won’t do!”
White Snake’s finely scaled face showed no emotion, but the coldness blooming from his slightly narrowed eyes clearly reflected his mood was quite poor.
“With his strength, if he wholeheartedly wants to hide, even if that one personally descends, we can’t find him. If too much time passes, I fear he will truly return. Moreover, this method of waiting for the rabbit is too passive. I propose we take a more proactive approach.”
Blood Demon looked up at him and tentatively asked,
“Are you suggesting we force him out?”
“Correct, that woman named Li Mei is a lover he kept in this world. We capture her to force him out.”
Thor shook his head and said,
“Firstly, the odds of forcing him out this way are extremely low, practically impossible. According to the information we’ve gathered, he only encountered this woman in this world, it was merely a transaction of power for pleasure. No one would risk themselves for someone who isn’t even considered important.”
“Besides, doing this is against the rules. Although we can handle the punishment, if we do this, he can do the same. According to the distances established by the Main World’s will, we will no longer be protected by the Main World’s rules. Any Descender can strike against us. We have enemies in this world, without the defaulted rules to limit them, we might find trouble before we even locate him.”
“If this can’t be done and that can’t be done, are we seriously just going to wait for him to come out on his own?”
White Snake was somewhat vexed.
“There is only one solution for now.”
“What solution?”
“Return to the Main World and invite someone with the Prophetic priesthood over.”
“Prophetic priesthood?”
“This is a solution…”
However, just as they had birthed this thought, a piece of news quickly threw that idea out the window.
“He has appeared.”
White Snake excitedly said to Blood Demon and Thor,
“My people have discovered that the woman named Li Mei has been secretly acquiring some materials this entire time. Now they have gathered a clear list of the materials she is purchasing. Take a look.”
A long list popped up on the screen in front of the three of them. Blood Demon only needed a glance before he confirmed,
“It’s him, the materials on this list are used to make an ultra-long-distance Teleportation Array, not much different from the materials we use for the Star Realm Mark. I said we’ve been unable to find any trace of him recently; it turns out he left the Primary Material Plane and entered the Starworld.”
“It looks like he’s planning to avoid our eyes and ears and go deep into the Starworld to hunt the Ancient Beings there.”
White Snake laughed and said,
“Necessarily, the Ancient Beings of the Main World are well accounted for; one or two deaths might go unnoticed, but once he hunts too many, we will definitely realize it.”
“So, the next step is to gather people and go meet this proud child of the heavens.”
“I’ll head over first to keep an eye on things, to prevent him from escaping!”
White Snake nodded,
“We will catch up as soon as possible.”
Within just five or six days, a total of seven incarnations of the Sons of the God realm, including White Snake, rushed to the vicinity of the small town occupied by Li Mei’s clan. Looking from afar at the castle outside the town, Thor said,
“I don’t see anything unusual. It’s likely that the construction of the Star Realm Mark hasn’t started yet.”
“Regardless of whether it’s built or not, we encircle it directly.”
The seven of them swiftly approached. When they were less than a kilometer from the castle, they no longer hid their presence. The moment Thor appeared, a thunderous roar erupted out of thin air, and a force imperceptible to mortals slowly descended upon this part of the world.
As anticipated, a figure shot up from the castle, soaring off into the distance. Seven figures quickly chased after.
But after only a few kilometers, White Snake suddenly halted and shouted,
“Stop, that’s an illusion!”
The others quickly ceased their pursuit as White Snake turned and rushed back to the castle, saying,
“He once killed an Ancient Being who had the Shadow Rule and took the Shadow Rule for himself. That aura just now wasn’t right; it was definitely an illusion.”
The group quickly returned above the castle before it had fallen, when a figure rising revealed a phantom of Li Mei, who said with a beaming smile:
“You are too late.”
With a single swipe, White Snake dispelled her phantom and a gigantic shadow of a White Snake smashed down, breaking open the castle to reveal an underground chamber covered in a layer of light film. The Array inside was emitting blinding light. It was riddled with signs of destruction and seemed to have been sabotaged.
“We’re still in time.”
White Snake charged forward, the light film vanished in an instant, and he paused in his tracks above the Array, eyes gleaming as he smiled at his companions who were catching up behind him:
“He thinks by sabotaging the Array, he can stop us; he doesn’t know that my True Body specializes in Magic, in which I’m a master.”
He quickly took out a pile of materials and began repairing the Array with movements as smooth as flowing clouds and streaming water, a sight pleasing to the eyes.
In less than ten minutes, the Array was fixed. After trying to activate it, he said to his companions:
“The Array has been repaired; we depart now.”
With a flick of his fingers, several transparent streams of force shot out, activating the Array, and space slowly twisted.
Endless Starworld, vast and boundless.
A floating island several kilometers in size drifted slowly in the Void, where ghost-like white specter creatures roamed back and forth above the floating terrain.
As with other worlds’ Starworlds, when the gods fell, their corpses would be devoured by the Starworld and gradually turned into floating islands.
This world’s Starworld also had floating islands of various sizes—remnants of the transformation of various ancient beings after death—except most ancient beings had no followers, naturally no God Guards to protect their Divine Corpses. These floating specters were beings of the Starworld, with a domineering name: Star Realm Travelling Dragon; in reality, they were some of the most basic spirits of the Starworld.
Star Realm Travelling Dragons were immune to physical attacks; only energy attacks and spiritual assaults could harm them. As numerous ancient ones appeared, seven auras of different colors exploded, decimating the Star Realm Travelling Dragons on the floating land.
However, the Star Realm Travelling Dragons were without fear, swarming like bees disturbed from their nest, as all Star Realm Beings lurking around the floating island converged towards them.
The Rules mastered by the ancient ones were irresistible delicacies to the beings of the Starworld.
But the wandering Star Realm Beings nearby were too weak, and their numbers too few. With seven ancient ones taking action at the same time, they were eradicated in less than two minutes.
White Snake immediately used an ability, and to his eyes, the entire world turned grey. A distinct silver line stretched from where they arrived, crossing the floating island, entering the Void, and extending into the far distance.
“He went that way; the trail is still fresh, he hasn’t gone far, keep pursuing.”
The group followed the silver line, with more trails of silver stretching in front of them as they progressed.
These silver lines were their connections to the Primary Material Plane after entering Starworld. No matter where one ended up in Starworld, one could return to the Primary Material Plane as long as the line remained unbroken.
The presence of silver lines here meant that someone indeed had entered Starworld from this location.
The group chased for a long while, but the silver line ahead seemed endless, and they had no idea where the target was, yet they could only continue the chase.
After an indeterminate amount of time, they estimated crossing a distance of nearly a million kilometers, and they had no idea which part of the Void they had come to. They hadn’t seen a sign of their quarry, and they began to wonder if they had made a mistake.
Just then, suddenly one of the Sons of the Divine Realm pointed ahead and shouted:
“Is that a God Country over there?”
No need for reminders, the others had seen it too. At the end of the silver line, a dazzling sphere of light came into their view. As veterans who had spent a long time in this world, of course, they recognized it as a God Country situated in the Starworld, with the silver line leading straight into it.
“Whose God Country is this?”
“Does he have the ability to attack a God Country?”
Though they had discovered their target, everyone’s expressions were grim. Attacking a God Country alone was a feat that most with Medium Divine Power could not achieve – did this not suggest that the power he now wielded was even stronger than that of the average Medium Divine Power?
The group approached the God Country, and, seeing the silver line indeed went into it, they hesitated.
“What do we do?”
They looked at each other, uncertain.
It was easy for them to enter the God Country with their strength, but once inside, getting out would prove difficult. If the situation was not as they perceived, all of their Incarnations could potentially be lost there.
After a brief moment of indecision, it was White Snake’s words that strengthened their resolve. He said:
“He said that any losses incurred during this operation would be compensated, even if the mission failed. All losses related to the operation would be fully covered.”
This reassured everyone, and White Snake, more than anyone, took the lead to the radiant God Country, placing his hand upon it. In an instant, a will as powerful as thunderous roars surged, bellowing within their consciousness:
“Who dares to trespass into the God Country of Slaughter and the Lord of Death!”
Everyone’s hearts turned cold, but their faces showed sudden joy. They swiftly penetrated the outer wall of the God Country, unconcerned with the country’s formidable rules that descended like mountains sweeping over the land. They saw at the center of the God Country a colossal entity reaching to the heavens and a terrifying being locked in combat with it.
At a second glance, it was Lin Xiao, who had assumed the form of a colossal Lord of Chaos. Above his head, an enormous shadow of the Divine Realm was faintly appearing, obviously provoked by being inside a God Country, causing his Divine Realm to involuntarily manifest.
Countless God Guards of the God Country of Slaughter and the God of Death were besieging him, among them not a few Rank 3 or higher Super Professionals. But as a Son of the Divine Realm, Lin Xiao could use the power of the Divine Realm to counter the suppression of the God Country. Even alone, he could face off against the many God Guards, including the formidable ones of Rank 1.@@novelbin@@
