Chapter 142 Making A Plan & Strange Idea
"The Nightmare Shadow, huh?" Leon said as a small smile formed on his face.
He glanced at Tessa and Arin before adding, "It seems talking about it triggered some sort of memories..."
"Memories of some of the inhabitants of the Shadow Realm."
'I was right,' Arin thought as he stared at Leon.
Leon glanced at Tessa. "He's right... It sounds sort of strange, but the Nightmare Shadow actually just wants a friend."
Leon had now realized this, though he and Arin got this information from two different sources.
Arin knew this because he read it in the novel, while Leon knew this because of the memories he received.
Tessa stared at Chaos and folded her arms again. "If that's the case, then what's the plan? Like Leon said, we don't even know where it is."
"The Nightmare Shadow can sense when someone is weak and when someone is powerful," Leon said. "If someone who's weak is sleeping right now, there's a high chance that the Nightmare Shadow is in that person's dream."
"True," Arin said. "The Nightmare Shadow has a naturally low presence, so it's hard to sense. Even for Alex, it won't be easy."
"And when it's in someone's dream, it's completely impossible to sense it."
"But that's why it avoids the dreams of powerful people," Leon said. "Because there is a chance it might get caught."
Tessa just kept glancing at both of them. At this point, it was almost as if she was being lectured.
"In a nutshell, it'll return to this Academy tonight," Arin said, making both Tessa and Leon look at him.
"H... How do you know?" Leon asked.
Tessa just smiled wryly as she tapped Leon's shoulder as if she were comforting him. "You'll get used to it..."@@novelbin@@
Arin continued. "It enters people's dreams to talk to them and try to be their friend."
"But of course, they get scared, and some even scream before waking up," he added. Your next chapter is on My Virtual Library Empire
"The same thing will happen in the Academy tonight," Arin said as he looked at Leon. "The Nightmare Shadow will continue trying until it gets to you."
Tessa frowned slightly. "But Leon can't sleep."
"Yes," Leon said. "But..."
He wanted to say something but didn't quite know how to put it, so Arin decided to help him.
"I'm sure you must have realized what type of Shadow you are now, right?" Arin asked.
A small smile appeared on Leon's face. "Yes... With all the memories and powers, I naturally know now."
"I'm the Shadow Lord."
Tessa's eyes widened slightly. "Lo... Lord?"
She seemed to have forgotten that Arin had told her just a moment ago.
"Exactly," Arin said. "And this means that even if you can't sleep and the Nightmare Shadow comes, you'll naturally sense it as its Lord."
Leon understood what Arin was saying.
"So what do I do after sensing it?" he asked.
"Just release a bit of your Dark Energy, and the Nightmare Shadow will realize who you are," Arin replied.
The conversation continued, with Arin telling Leon what he would say as soon as the Nightmare Shadow realized who he was.
As the conversation continued, Tessa and Leon began realizing Arin's plan.
"The room next to my room, huh?" Leon muttered.
"Yes," Arin said. "He's the perfect person for this."
"That's true," Tessa said immediately after she was told the name of the student who was in the room beside Leon's. "He's strong, and if you say he won't be a problem for the Nightmare Shadow, then that's perfect."
"So basically," Leon said, "I'll be using my authority to control the Nightmare Shadow."
Both Arin and Tessa nodded their heads in response.
"Then we'll follow up with the next phase," Arin said.
"But that's the part that scares me," Leon instantly said. "I'm not really confident when it comes to fighting."
Tessa smiled as she held Leon's shoulder. "You have every right to be worried, but like I said before, you're not alone in this. We have your back."
Leon stared at the ground as he closed his eyes. He exhaled loudly before he raised his head. "Okay, let's do this."
'Perfect,' Arin thought as he stared at Leon.
Now that they had successfully made the plan, it was time to leave.
Arin glanced at Tessa. "I trust you..."
Tessa smiled. "I know."
With that, Arin left the forest, leaving Tessa and Leon. Within minutes, he was already standing in front of the male dorm building. He quickly entered and climbed the stairs before arriving in his room.
He dropped the bracelet on the ground, and it glowed before revealing Roxanne.
She instantly lowered her head. "Greetings, Master."
Arin nodded his head as she raised her head and walked towards the window.
"Another battle against Alex tonight, huh?" Seraphine laughed. "I'm so ready!"
"This is a chance to see if my practice has been effective," she added.
"Hmm, you're really looking forward to it, huh?" Arin asked.
"Of course. I still have to pay him back for those few strikes he landed on me," Seraphine said.
Suddenly, a strange idea entered Arin's mind. His eyes darted towards Roxanne, who was looking outside through the window with a smile on her face.
Arin shook his head. 'No... There's no need for that.'
Discarding the idea, he entered the bathroom to freshen up.
*********
Riya was arranging her books, ready to leave the Academy and head home.
"The Assistant Principal..." she muttered as she stopped arranging her books for a second. "There's just something strange about her..."
"The way she looked at me... It wasn't normal."
She continued arranging her books as she put that thought in the back of her mind. 'I'll let him know...'
Talking about Arin, a smile formed on her face.
"Tonight is certainly going to be tough," she muttered. "But I trust you, Arin..."
**********
Arin finished freshening up as he exited the bathroom. He sat down on his bed, and his eyes settled on Roxanne, who was still looking outside.
Once again, that thought found its way into his mind.
'What if...'
This time, he didn't discard it.
After giving it some thought, he decided to go ahead.
"Roxanne," he called out.
"Yes, Arin," Roxanne said as she turned back to look at him.
Arin stared at her for some seconds before he finally spoke.
"I need your help..."
What do you think?
