The Extra Seeks Chaos

Chapter 173 173: Decision

The competition continued as more battles took place.

The three-minute rule that was put in place by Orion was a good decision because it made the students utilize their spells properly and be sharp in order to win.

Arin watched with folded arms, staring at the two girls who had just finished fighting.

The teacher announced the winner, and they both left the middle of the circle, joining the students.

"Tessa Silverhart versus Len Brown!" the teacher announced.

Instantly, Tessa walked out toward the middle of the circle, together with a boy with brown hair.

After taking their weapons of choice, they both stood, facing each other.

"Start!"

With that, the battle began.

The boy was almost at the same rank as Tessa, so it could be considered a fair fight, but well, Tessa had a refined fighting style and more experience, making the fight pretty easy for her.

With immense precision, Tessa swung her sword toward the boy.

The boy gritted his teeth as he raised his spear, trying to deflect the sword, but Tessa's sword moved with so much force that immediately after their weapons clashed, the boy's spear was instantly flung away.

The boy was yet to surrender, and he didn't look like he would surrender, so Tessa swung her sword, using her enhanced physical capabilities after absorbing the sound.

The boy instantly summoned an earth wall, stopping her sword, but at the same time, she absorbed the sound and quickly arrived beside him.

With a swing of her sword, the boy found himself on the ground, his back touching the ground.

"Winner, Tessa Silverhart!" the teacher announced.

Surprisingly, a small group of people were cheering for her. These were the few people she had managed to talk to and were now friends with.

With a smile, she walked back to join the circle of students.

After a few more fights, Orion walked forward.

"Students, this will be all for today!" he said.

Some of the students instantly began grumbling.

"Tch... I would've preferred to fight today."

"Aggh... I just stood for nothing."

"For nothing? But you were the one cheering the loudest for the students who were fighting."

Arin squinted his eyes. 'That means I'll fight either tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.'

Since they were calling the names from a long paper, his name could be at the bottom for all he knew, or it could be at the middle.

"The competition will continue tomorrow with the same rules so the students who haven't fought yet can continue training," Orion said.

"And for those whose battles were postponed due to taking more than three minutes, your battle will commence on the last day of the competition."

With that, he dismissed the students.

Arin instantly began walking toward the dorm building. He needed to relax and think about the notification, and his room was the perfect place to do that.

"And I can't tell Riya about it," Arin muttered. "After all, she doesn't know that I'm originally not from this world."

With furrowed brows, Arin found his way toward the dorm building, but suddenly...

"Arin!"

He instantly turned back, already recognizing the voice.

Lina rushed toward him with a smile on her face.

"Arin, let's go to The Are~"

"Not now, Lina," Arin said, instantly cutting her off.

She noticed the frown on his face, making her curious.

"Arin, is there any problem?" she asked worriedly.

Arin realized that he was frowning, making him quickly change his expression.

'I'm not even thinking straight anymore...' he thought.

He didn't want to sound harsh or make Lina worry, so he smiled.

"I'm fine, I'm just annoyed that I didn't get to fight today," Arin said.

"Oh, that," Lina said, her worry fading. "It also annoyed me, but well, there's nothing we can do about it."

Arin nodded his head in response.

"Okay, then," Lina said. "I'll head to The Area with some of my friends."

"I'll see you around," she added, walking away and waving at Arin.

Arin waved back before walking into the dorm building and entering his room. He instantly shut the door.

"Welcome back, Master," Roxanne said, bowing slightly.

"Thank you," Arin replied, waving his hand.

Immediately after that, he walked into the bathroom, freshened up, and exited before sitting down on the floor in a lotus position.

He was getting ready to continue practicing the Blood Armour Skill, but before that, he had to make a decision.

Focusing, he ignored Seraphine, who was making noise in his head.

He closed his eyes and allowed himself to go deep into his thoughts, though he instinctively knew what his decision was going to be.

'I'll still continue doing what I've been doing,' Arin thought.

Yes, the author may have continued the story, but that didn't mean he had to stop and just exist in this world.

Yes, if he continued and went through with the plans he had for Alex, it might pose a risk to him since the author had continued the story.

But why stop? To avoid risks? To preserve his life?

No!... Not when he was already finding out Alex's real identity and motive.

He already knew that Alex wasn't who people thought he was, and there was still more to find out.

'There was no decision to make in the first place,' Arin thought. 'I already knew what I would do.'

He wasn't going to let this stop him.

With that, Arin went on to start practicing his Blood Armour Skill.

Last night when he practiced it, he was already able to completely cover his chest with it.

Now, if he continued with it till tomorrow morning, he would surely be able to completely cover his chest and part of his back.

He didn't know if hardening the blood energy in his back was going to take time too, like his chest, so he didn't want to put it in his mind that it would be fast.

He would eventually find out while doing it.

With that, he began the process.

*********

Principal Orion stared outside through the window of the levitating carriage, his thoughts occupied.

'What could the King possibly want from me?' he thought. 'He just sent for me all of a sudden without even stating a reason.'

Orion was genuinely worried. After all, the King rarely sent for a principal of an academy, and when he did, it was definitely not a small issue.

'It's definitely related to the vampire attack,' Orion thought. 'It makes sense for him to send for me.'

Finally, the carriage arrived in front of the majestic castle, and Orion came down before walking toward the gate.

The guards stationed at the gate paid him no heed, already knowing that he was the principal of Greenfield Academy.

As soon as Orion stepped into the castle compound, a maid opened the door of the castle and walked toward Orion.

It was the same maid who escorted Alex when he came.

She lowered her head slightly before speaking, "The King is waiting for you."

Orion nodded, following her into the castle.

After climbing the stairs, they arrived in front of the throne room.

The maid knocked on the door twice.

"Come in," a deep voice was heard from inside the room.

The maid quickly opened the door and walked inside, followed by Orion.

She bowed to Rowan before walking out, leaving Orion.

Orion instantly bowed. "Greetings, King Rowan."

"Raise your head," Rowan said, gesturing for Orion to sit on the chair opposite him.

Orion nodded and sat down on the chair.

"I know I sent for you quite abruptly, but it was needed," Rowan said.

Orion nodded his head, listening to Rowan.

Rowan squinted his eyes, his authoritative aura as a king filling the room.

"I'll be visiting Greenfield Academy tomorrow..."

Orion struggled to stop himself from saying "What?" after hearing what Rowan said.

His eyes widened slightly. 'Visiting the Academy...? What?'

"I... I see..." Orion stuttered lightly before regaining his composure.

"I didn't quite expect that," he added.

Rowan nodded his head. "Yes, I didn't originally plan it, but I'll be free tomorrow, so why not?"

"Especially with the report about the vampires that attacked the academy," he added, his voice low, almost as if he wanted Orion to know he was specific about that part.

"True," Orion said.

He closed his eyes before opening them again, exhaling deeply. "If I may ask, what do you plan on doing in the Academy?"

Orion made sure that his voice was as respectful as possible when asking that question.

Rowan smiled slightly.

"First of all, I plan on making a kingdom-wide decree, which every single person in this kingdom will hear," Rowan said. "No need to tell you because you'll also hear it."

"As for your question," Rowan continued, "let's just say I'm trying to make sure of something... Nothing much."

Rowan's eyes suddenly glowed lightly as he stared outside through the window, remembering what a certain someone told him.

"Another war, huh?"

"There's not much time left..."
