Chapter 175: The King's Arrival
The King will meet you all in your different classes, so your Magic Theory teacher will begin teaching and stop immediately when he arrives," Orion said.
Arin now understood why Riya said it wasn't too serious, but he didn't realize that he wouldn't be agreeing with that if he knew why the King was coming.
It was, indeed, serious...
"Remember all what I just said and don't act rashly. Okay, you can all go," Orion concluded.
Instantly, the students began walking out of the hall. Normally, they usually rushed out of the hall, but because the teachers were all staring at them, and after what Orion just said about them behaving themselves, they walked out in a coordinated manner.
In a few seconds, all the students had already exited the hall and were all heading towards their different classrooms.
On their way, minutes the discussion about the King's arrival continued.
With a sigh, Arin sat down on his usual chair at the back, watching as some of the students in his class also entered the classroom.
'I think I should participate in the tournament,' Arin thought, his mind drifting towards the upcoming tournament.
He just felt the need to win in the competition so that he would be able to participate in the tournament.
'Then maybe in the tournament, I'll win the first round and lose the second round,' he thought.
Before he could have further thought ls about it, Riya suddenly walked into the class, making the light chatter to instantly seize and all the students sat down.
Without wasting time, she began teaching.
A few minutes later, the class was still on, but the slight tension was present, after all, the King could arrived any moment from now.
The tension was indeed valid, because the King was going to stand in front of them... Most of them were already shivering from the thought of it.
"Hey, I think the King has arrived..." A boy seated beside Arin whispered to another boy.
"I was also thinking the same thing," the boy whispered back. "I'm hearing a strange voice coming from the other class."
Some of the students had also heard the voice, and it was obvious from the way they suddenly began adjusting and checking if anything around them was out of place, after all, they didn't want to draw the King's attention.
Riya continued teaching as if nothing was happening.
But a few minutes later.....
STEP STEP
The students instantly heard footsteps approaching their classroom.
This footstep was so peculiar because it seemed to carry some sort of weight and elegance to it.
The eyes of the students were instantly fixated on the door, already knowing who those footsteps would belong to.
"Focus..."
They suddenly heard Riya's low but stern voice, making them avert their gaze and continue listening.
And then.....
A figure suddenly stepped into the class, his presence brimming with royalty and authority.
All their heads instinctively turned towards him.
He wore golden royal attire, and his blonde hair was nearly combed, further accentuating his blue eyes, but the most noticeable thing about him was the...
Crown!
Nobody needed to tell them.
Instantly....
WHOOSH
With immense speed, every single person in the class, including Riya, stood up and bowed down.
Some were bowing so low that their head was almost touching their knees.
"Greetings, my King!" They all said in unison.
With his head lowered, Arin smirked.
'So, this is the aura of a King, huh?' he thought. 'Infinite aura...'
"Raise your heads."
The King's deep voice was heard, making all of them raise their heads.
"Also, sit down," he gave another order.
They all sat down, except Riya.
"Welcome to Class 3A, My King," Riya said, bowing again and raising her head.
The King nodded with a small smile. "It's good to be here."
Arin glanced around, noticing that some of the students were visibly trembling. 'Well...'
Riya instantly walked to the corner of the class, giving way for Rowan to stand in front of the students.
With his hands behind his back, Rowan smiled and began, "good day, student!"
"I believe that you all are doing well."
The students all listened with no one daring to say a single word.
Rowan continued. "It's good to see that you all are paying attention to your teacher. It shows that you all are well trained and eager to do well."
He paused for a second, looked around, before he continued.
"With that being said, I know that most of you must be wondering why I decided to personally come to this Academy," he said.
"I could've easily sent someone, but I wanted to do this myself."
Arin squinted his eyes. 'Do it himself? What exactly is he planning to do?'
Orion never mentioned why the King was coming to the Academy, so they all thought it was just to see how things were going, and maybe test the students.
Well, they were partly correct, but if he just wanted to check things out, he could've easily sent someone else to do that, like he mentioned.
'Hmm, there must be something else... There must be another reason why he decided to come to the Academy,' Arin thought.
"As for the recent Vampire attack, I have to also apologize," Rowan said. "It caused a disturbance in the normal Academy activities, and also made some of you lose some of your things, which was not good at all."
For the next few minutes, he kept apologizing about the Vampire attack, and how he would aid the Academy and other Academies in the Kingdom to make sure nothing like that happens again.
"Now," he said, "moving on to the main reason why I'm here."
His gaze suddenly became stern, making some of the students tremble.
Arin also noticed the change in the King's expression and couldn't help but wonder, 'is it really not that serious?'
He was beginning to doubt what Riya told him, because if it wasn't serious, the King would've left the class already.
"I have decided to do a little screening..." Rowan said.
Confused expressions instantly appeared on the faces of the students.
'Screening?' Arin thought.
"I know it sounds confusing, but I'll explain as I carry it out," Orion said.
His gaze flickered as he muttered. "Everyone, stand up."
Without wasting time, they all stood up.
Arin glanced at Riya, wanting to know what was going on, but she wasn't looking at him yet.
Rowan began walking back and forth in the classroom, staring at each of the students.
"I have been wondering if there is perhaps, a Vampire in this Academy," he said.
The confusion on the faces of the students instantly deepened.
'A Vampire in the Academy? How? We must have sensed it already...'
'What does the King mean by that?'
They were all having the same thoughts, but they could only wait to hear what the King would say.
Though, Arin was having a different thought.
'Wait.... Don't tell me....'
'What does he mean by that?'
Arin couldn't lie, he was having a bad feeling about this... A very bad feeling.
"I know that there's a high chance that I'm just overthinking," Rowan continued. "But I just decided to clear all doubts."
And the next thing Rowan said was what Arin didn't want to hear.
"In that case, I have decided to personally check all the students in this Academy... To make sure there is no Vampire among us."
In that moment, Arin felt his heart racing as he gripped the table.
'W... What the hell....?'
***********
In an Academy in Freewave City.....
"Once again, welcome to our Academy," the principal of Freewave Academy said to the man walking beside him.
Respect was evident in his tone ss he walked beside the man.
"Thank you," ths man said.
Finally, they reached the main hall where all the first year students and second year students were gathered.
As soon as the principal and the man entered the hall, the students instantly lowered their heads in respect, after all, the man's dressing made it obvious that he was royalty.
His gaze swept past the students, and he instantly went straight to the point.
"Good day, students!" he began. "I have been sent here by the King to make this announcement."
"All the students of this Academy will be screened by one of the royal guards of the castle."
"The purpose of the screening is to fish out any vampire that may be hiding among us humans."
"Huh? Vampires?"
The man paused for a second before he continued.
"You all are to go to your various classes and wait for the royal guard that has been assigned to this Academy."
This similar announcement was made in every single Academy in the Kingdom, but not only Academies.
It was made in every single city in the Kingdom. The streets, the markets, the playgrounds, everywhere.
Every single person in the Kingdom heard it....
After all, it was a Kingdom-wide decree.
What do you think?
