The Extreme Alchemist of the Mighty Cauldron

Chapter 751: 751: The Death of Zhou Yishui

Chapter 751: Chapter 751: The Death of Zhou Yishui

Although there were many questions and countless doubts brewing in his heart, Fang Lin did not rush to ask them. Instead, he intended to settle the matter at hand first.

An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.

It was time to resolve the grudge between himself and the royal family of Xuan Country, be it Zhou Yishui or the Xuan Emperor, each were nemeses who had repeatedly put him in death’s way.

If not for Fang Lin’s providential luck, he would have already lost his life many times over.

At this moment, Fang Lin decided not to engage with the Xuan Emperor, instead heading directly towards the ground.

Zhou Yishui lay on the ground, not yet dead, but the poison had already penetrated his bones. No pill could save him unless the overwhelming power of the Sacred Medicine were to suppress the poison.

...

Seeing Fang Lin beside him, Zhou Yishui was horrified, his face full of shock and despair.

“Your Highness, today is your wedding day. My uninvited appearance here, I wonder whether you can forgive it?” Fang Lin asked, a faint smile playing at the corners of his mouth.

Zhou Yishui couldn’t utter a word. Even without Bai Qingxue suppressing everyone, he was utterly defenseless.

Fang Lin smiled lightly, looking around at the people holding various poses. Without exception, they were all gazing at him with terrified looks.

“Rest assured, I only kill my enemies. I won’t implicate innocents.” Fang Lin stated.

Hearing this, many people breathed a sigh of relief. Thankfully, Fang Lin made such a declaration. Otherwise, they would have been scared stiff.

The royal family and Dugu family were both grief-stricken. Such a grand alliance through marriage had instead led to such extraordinary circumstances, an entirely unforeseen development.

More importantly, their lives were now hanging by a thread, wondering how many victims Fang Lin would claim in his fury.

Dugu Fenglei and Lord Lu’s faces were pale as ghosts. Like the Xuan Emperor, they both possessed formidable power, but at this moment, they were as helpless as ants. They lacked any room to resist, and were completely at the mercy of Fang Lin and Bai Qingxue.

“Lord Lu, it seems you’re not very pleased with me. But alas, you can’t express your discontent right now. What a pity.” Fang Lin said, mocking Lu Feng with a laugh.

Lu Feng was so angry he could explode. He had never considered Fang Lin a threat. A lowly peasant like Fang Lin was beneath the notice of a lord like himself.

Yet to his surprise, this insignificant little character now held his life in his hands.

“Alright, time to send some people on their way.” Fang Lin murmured. He waved his hand to summon his sword but found it missing.

Turning his head, he saw his mother holding the scarlet longsword, seemingly oblivious to his command.

Fang Lin scoffed and rolled his eyes. Having no other choice, he summoned the ancient spear.

Compared to the scarlet longsword, the ancient spear was much more obedient, flying to Fang Lin’s hand at his beck and call.

“Your Highness, your journey awaits.” Fang Lin smiled, took the spear in his hand, and stabbed it ruthlessly into Zhou Yishui’s throat.

Pu! Blood spurted out. But most of it was black blood, indicating that his body was already saturated with severe poison that had turned his blood black.

Zhou Yishui looked at Fang Lin with a gaze filled with despair and resentment, trying to say something but unable to make a sound.

This scene sent the royal family into a state of shock, while the Xuan Emperor, who watched from the sky, was driven to extreme grief.

Even though he knew his son was severely poisoned and his death was imminent, witnessing his son being murdered by Fang Lin firsthand felt profoundly different.

The Xuan Emperor was filled with regret. Had he known things would end up like this, he would not have pushed Fang Lin to this point. He would have even been willing to bury the hatchet and do his best to resolve the enmity between them.

Alas! The current situation was beyond redemption. Apart from limitless regret, the Xuan Emperor was incapable of doing anything. He could only look on helplessly as Fang Lin murdered his son.

Zhou Yishui was dead – not killed by the poison, but slain by Fang Lin. Until his last moment, Zhou Yishui kept his gaze fixed on Fang Lin, as if promising to remember his face even as a ghost.

Wide-eyed and terrified, the crowd silently sighed. Today was supposed to be Zhou Yishui’s grand celebration, yet unexpectedly, he lost his life.

Fang Lin pulled out the ancient spear, not even glancing at Zhou Yishui’s corpse. He then turned his fickle gaze towards the other royals.

“Although I hold no grudge against you, to me, because your name is Zhou, you must die.” Fang Lin coldly stated. He walked over and one by one, killed each member of the royal family.

Whether they had acted against him or not, Fang Lin was ruthless, not giving them any chance to survive.

Next, it was the turn of the members of the Dugu family.

But for the Dugu family, Fang Lin was not as ruthless. After all, this was Dugu Nian’s family. If he killed too many of them, Dugu Nian would be unable to face it.

Of course, there were still some within the Dugu family whom he wished to kill, like Dugu Fenglei.

“Even though you did not act against me today, you, like the Xuan Emperor, would prefer me dead. Furthermore, you’re partly the reason this situation is what it is.” Fang Lin said impassively.

Dugu Fenglei’s sullen eyes were fixed on Fang Lin. If not for Bai Qingxue’s force suppressing him, he would have torn Fang Lin to pieces.

Fang Lin tightened his grip on the ancient spear, preparing to end Dugu Fenglei’s life. Suddenly, his gaze fell on Dugu Ruoxu.

Dugu Ruoxu was pleading with Fang Lin through his gaze to spare Dugu Fenglei.

Seeing this, Fang Lin fell silent, but he still took action.

With a ‘pu’ sound, Fang Lin cut off one of Dugu Fenglei’s arms. Blood sprayed out everywhere.

Dugu Fenglei’s face contorted with pain, his eyes growing colder. But he was, after all, a Spirit Bone level powerhouse, and losing an arm wouldn’t be a major impediment.

“In consideration of Dugu Ruoxu, you have been spared with your life, but at the expense of your arm, as a warning.” Fang Lin said, and then moved in front of Lord Lu of the Western Guarding Palace.

Fang Lin was quite torn about this man. How should he handle him?

Should he kill him on the spot?

That wouldn’t quite do. After all, his identity was too special, he was a Hall Master of the Pill Alliance. Although Fang Lin wanted to kill him, the consequences would be dire if he did.

There were so many people present who would witness him killing Lu Feng. If the Pill Alliance were to investigate, the trail would lead straight to him.

And of course, Fang Lin couldn’t possibly kill all the other people present just for Lu Feng’s sake. That would be excessively brutal. Fang Lin considered himself ruthless, but not to the extent of evil annihilation of humanity.

Thus, deciding how to handle Lu Feng became a rather tricky matter. He couldn’t kill him, but letting him off wouldn’t sit well with Fang Lin.

After a moment of contemplation, an idea struck Fang Lin. He revealed a small smile, took out a pill, and shoved it into Lu Feng’s mouth. He then delivered a palm-strike which forced Lu Feng to swallow the pill.

Lu Feng’s face turned black with rage. He had no idea what kind of pill Fang Lin had made him swallow.

“Well, now, Lord Lu, you will have to play by my rules.” Patting his hands together, Fang Lin laughed.
