Karl showed his plan to the teachers who had come to study under him. "This is a bit more complex. I have four concepts all linked in a compound rune, then a detached string of modifiers to clarify the effects. But each of the strings has to be both complete as a concept, and grammatically separate from all the others, so that the effect does not bleed over. Because of this, the wording is very particular when you try to combine effects."
Moira frowned. "Is there a way around that? Where you might generate powerful effects without the need for an enormous item to hold so many characters worth of runes in such a particular format?"
Karl thought about it for a second, then an insidious thought came to his mind.
"Yes. There is a divine phrase that can help you accomplish that."
Karl wrote out three seemingly nonsensical runes, which were actually just ancient slang from the knowledge he had gained from [Runecrafting].
