Chapter 587: Even your family’s old man stepping in was useless_1
The operator on the other end of the phone recognized Le Shaoming’s voice immediately and began to feel nervous, “Today, Officer Zhang is on duty, and there’s just one case of a brawl.”@@novelbin@@
“Zhang Yiliang?” As soon as Le Shaoming heard mention of Officer Zhang, he knew who it was.
Zhang Yiliang was his go-to person, most of the leaders in the department had high hopes for him and were preparing to promote him to inspector this year.
Everything had been going smoothly, and Le Shaoming was happy to groom him.
But he hadn’t expected such a slip-up from him today.
Le Shaoming directed his car onto the main road.
Under normal circumstances, posting bail was enough to be released from detention, and nothing unusual would happen; but having heard what Principal Shi said, Le Shaoming knew that Zhang Yiliang had screwed up today!
Detaining someone without offering the chance to post bail.
Le Shaoming felt a cold sweat break out on his back when he heard the operator’s report; he knew that if this situation wasn’t handled properly, their whole station, from top to bottom, would face a major reshuffle.
**
At the station.
Zhang Yiliang was negotiating with two young masters in the break room.
The man in the blue-black shirt, with his legs crossed, dictated his statement to Zhang Yiliang, “We just invited these two classmates to have a couple of drinks, she refused to drink and even beat us up like this…”
Zhang Yiliang nodded while jotting down notes, “Looking for trouble, endangering public safety…”
Sun Fei poured a cup of water and headed to the detention room.
“Sun Fei,” the elder by her side said, noting the direction she was headed, and knew she was going to see the girl, “Officer Zhang hasn’t left yet; don’t be too obvious. It’s not entirely bad for her to be in detention.”
Otherwise, falling into the hands of those young masters, who knows what would have happened.
Sun Fei pushed the door and entered.
The female student was still sitting on the chair, although her posture was no longer as straight as before; she leaned against the back of the chair, her eyelashes lowered like a small animal basking in the sun’s rays, looking particularly relaxed.
She appeared calm and composed.
As if she had no idea what had just happened.
“Have some water,” Sun Fei said, placing the tea cup on the table.
Bai Lian opened her eyes and saw the white porcelain mug on the table, she picked it up, “Did you send the message for me?”
She asked.
“Yes,” Sun Fei recalled the last message Bai Lian had sent, which was to Xiaoqi, “I told him to go to Yunxiao Hospital, but I don’t know which ward your friend is in.”
Sun Fei had not been dispatched elsewhere and only knew that all the individuals involved tonight were at Yunxiao Hospital.
“No problem,” Bai Lian tapped her fingers lightly on the cup.
Xiaoqi could find out such details on his own; she wasn’t worried.
Sun Fei watched as Bai Lian nonchalantly drank her tea, seemingly unaware of her current predicament, yet as if everything was under control.
She was a person full of contradictions.
“I answered two calls for you,” Sun Fei offered after she noticed Bai Lian drinking water, “One seemed to be from your teacher, and the other from your brother.”
Bai Lian leaned back, “Teacher, brother?”
“Yes, I told them about your situation,” Sun Fei thought of the threatening undertone in the words of that “Mr. Xu” and felt a sense of danger, “They seem to be on their way over.”
Xu Wenyao?
Bai Lian pondered briefly; the one who had been in close contact with her recently was Xu Wenyao.

Outside the station.
In the evening, traffic was sparse.
Le Shaoming was in Yunxiao District, and he was the closest to the station; it took him less than ten minutes to get to the station.
People here recognized his car, and as soon as he parked, someone came over to receive him, “Chief Le, what brings you here now?”
Le Shaoming’s expression was grim, “Who was detained tonight?”
“A female student, Sun Fei is guarding her.”
“Take me to see her,” Le Shaoming said and headed straight for the detention room, his urgency palpable, “Bring me the interrogation record and her files.”
The Xu family lived in Xingjiang District, which was probably not a ten-minute drive away.
Soon after, someone handed over Bai Lian’s interrogation record and files to Le Shaoming.
Le Shaoming walked while looking down, “Seeking trouble,” “Intentional injury,” these terms were unrelated to the brawl and seemed to be judged from the perspective of the other party.
His frown deepened as he flipped further to Bai Lian’s personal information—
Bai Lian, female, not from Jiangjing, current address at Shanhai Apartment.
Data that could easily be overlooked.
He closed the file just as someone opened the door to the detention room. The girl probably didn’t expect anyone else to come in; she looked up unhurriedly, her dark pupils slightly surprised.
Seeing she was unharmed, Le Shaoming breathed a sigh of relief, “Miss Bai, please come with me to the office first.”
Sun Fei herself was standing at the door; she turned her head in surprise when she saw Le Shaoming asking Bai Lian to his office, “Why is Chief Le here?”
What do you think?
