Chapter 598: Encounter by chance_4
After finishing their meal, Bai Lian and Pu Xiaohan left the house.
Next door, in room 302.
Jiang Fulai had just grabbed the car keys and was slowly opening the door, with Xu Nanjing following behind him.
Seeing Gao Yan, Jiang Fulai politely nodded his head and greeted her.
Upon seeing Jiang Fulai holding the keys, Gao Yan knew he was going to drive Bai Lian out.
Only after everyone had left did Xu Nanjing tilt his head and ask, “So, did she agree to go?”
“No,” Gao Yan glanced at Xu Nanjing, “How does Lian have so many friends in Jiangjing? No wonder you’re of little use.”
There were many people coming for the old man’s birthday, and Gao Yan wanted to introduce Bai Lian to a few of them.
That Bai Lian wasn’t going didn’t surprise Xu Nanjing. He started heading upstairs, “Even if she had no friends, she’d still be busy. That guy Jiang Xijue hasn’t even seen her yet.”
Gao Yan thought this made sense and followed him upstairs, “Is your upstairs finished yet?”
“Not even close. Jiang He is home every day; when do I have time to set things up?” Xu Nanjing was also worried that the renovations would disturb Bai Lian and the others.
Gao Yan: “How did rooms 302 and 301 finish so quickly?”
“If Jiang brother wanted to, he could get Zhongxing to build him a mobile living room in two days and move it to 302,” Xu Nanjing looked at the three apartments upstairs, “Mom, please don’t mention it.”

Meanwhile, Bai Shaoqi was also rushing to Chang’an District early in the morning.
The Yin Family was in Beihong District, which is quite far from Chang’an District. They had to go through Yunxiao District to get to Chang’an.
The driver for the Yin Family was driving, with Mr. Yin in the passenger seat, and Song Min and Bai Shaoqi were sitting in the back.
Bai Shaoqi was going to attend her morning class today and then head to Jiang University to find Bai Shaoke; hence, Song Min was accompanying her.
These past few days, Yunxiao District was filled with police, and there were many roadblocks that hadn’t been removed yet today.
Bai Shaoqi, looking at the roadblocks outside, asked, “What happened here?”
“There was an incident,” Mr. Yin glanced outside the window and sighed, “A strict inspection for seven days, several clubs have been uprooted. I’ve heard that several people in Yunxiao District have been taken down. We don’t know what happened; it’s not something we can manage.”
Such matters, the Yin Family naturally did not have the inside story, and could only speculate from rumors.
Bai Shaoqi just looked at the roadblocks, feeling quite shocked.
By her side, Song Min was looking through quiz questions on his apps and didn’t look up.@@novelbin@@
Mr. Yin got off at the Yin Family’s company, and the car continued towards Jiangyin.
Song Min and Bai Shaoqi got out of the car. Both of them were already familiar with Jiangyin and headed straight to Jiangyin’s building.
“Shaoqi,” the girl who always attended class with Bai Shaoqi saw them from a distance and waited for her, “Song Min, you’re here to accompany Shaoqi for classes again.”
She chattered with Bai Shaoqi as they made their way to the building.
During the summer vacation, there were still a few people coming to Jiangyin for early classes.
There was only one elevator in the building, and the three of them waited a few minutes at the elevator entrance before it came down from the fifth floor.
Upon entering, they immediately saw the “No Stopping” sign on the third floor.
The girl, seeing the sign, paused for a moment and wondered, “Someone is recording on the third floor again?”
Bai Shaoqi and Song Min both glanced at the no stopping sign, “Who exactly is using the third floor?”
It’s still so busy even during the summer vacation.
“It must be those few,” the girl explained, “Our school’s recording studio is the best in Asia. Not just domestically, but even people from abroad come here in admiration. When can I also record on the third floor?”
As she talked, she pressed the button for the fifth floor and waited for the elevator doors to close.
Meanwhile.
A female voice came from outside the elevator, “Beauty, wait for us!”
A fair hand blocked the closing elevator doors.
The girl hurriedly pressed the open button.
“Thank you, thank you,” Pu Xiaohan thanked the girl and shouted outside, “Birdie, can you hurry up?”
When the elevator doors opened, they could see a few steps away.
A girl with long legs was walking ahead, her brow slightly lowered and her eyes downcast, holding a White Jade Fan in her hand, its crystalline bones resting on her bent knuckles.
She wore a long dress with three-quarter sleeves, with a full skirt, white with colorful poppies hidden within its folds, blossoming with her steps.
Behind her, a delicately handsome boy was jogging with effort to catch up.
The two of them reached the elevator in a few steps.
The elevator was spacious, and even with three more people entering, it was still very roomy. Song Min and Bai Shaoqi stood to the left.
Almost immediately as the elevator doors opened, the two recognized Bai Lian.
Bai Lian had always been extraordinary in appearance, and in this past year, she had changed even more, with her reserved and self-sufficient air becoming more apparent.
Song Min, who had been looking at his app, finally looked up, his gaze falling upon Bai Lian.
Bai Lian paused at the entrance of the elevator, looking up, her gaze sweeping past Song Min and Bai Shaoqi, then she stood to the right with Jiang He, leaving a large gap in the middle.
She took out her phone, looking down, and sent a message to Dean Jian saying she had arrived.
She didn’t look at Bai Shaoqi or Song Min again.
“Birdie, you really need to drink more milk,” Pu Xiaohan said while standing next to the buttons, patting Jiang He’s head with a tone of earnest concern.
Jiang He looked down, poking at his watch, and sent a bunch of commas to Jiang Fulai.
Pu Xiaohan didn’t notice the atmosphere between Bai Lian and the others, and turned to ask Bai Lian, “What floor are you going to, Sister Lian?”
“Third floor,” Bai Lian leaned against the elevator wall, unfolding her fan, and spoke casually.
As soon as these words came out, the other three in the elevator couldn’t help but look over, especially the girl who had just been giving a rundown to Bai Shaoqi.
Pu Xiaohan noticed the “No Stopping” sign for the third floor but pressed the button as Bai Lian had said third floor.
What do you think?
