Chapter 617: 243 Jiang University Physics Department! Brother Jiang is Back (Second Update) _1

Jiang University’s entrance.

Ji Shaojun had ridden in Assistant Wang’s car before, so he recognized the license plate and turned to Ming Dongheng, “Xiaoming, someone has come to pick us up, you don’t need to give a ride.”

Ming Dongheng nodded, standing aside without leaving, his gaze piercing through his sunglasses to look at Assistant Wang’s license plate.

Assistant Wang got out from the driver’s seat.

He walked over to the other side, his eyes watching Ji Shaojun and his group.

He had met both Ji Shaojun and Shen Qing before, his eyes settling on the girl standing next to Shen Qing.

...

The summer sun sets late, so at that time the light was not harsh, with the entire sun appearing as if veiled in a layer of soft mist, the cool, golden rays slanting onto her, her emerald dress fluttering with the wind.

Her brows and eyes were lazy yet unbridled.

It was the pride of her blooming age, yet also a rare composure in pointing out the hills and rivers of this age.

Such bearing of a great general.

Assistant Wang stood still, his gaze upon Bai Lian, almost losing his voice as he watched her.

“Assistant Wang,” Ji Shaojun approached, introducing Ji Heng to him, “This is my dad.”

Assistant Wang finally snapped back to reality, his gaze shifting from Bai Lian and greeting Ji Heng, “Honored Elder, hello, I am Assistant Manager Mu’s assistant; you can just call me Xiao Wang.”

His gaze landed on Ji Heng and, to his surprise, he found this Mr. Ji also had an extraordinary bearing.

Assistant Wang opened the car door and ushered the large Ji family inside.

He took his seat at the wheel and drove onto the main road. Since it wasn’t a workday, traffic wasn’t as heavy, and he looked in the rearview mirror.

Bai Lian sat close to the door and after getting in the car, put on her Bluetooth earpiece. She lowered the window, resting her elbow casually on it.

“Miss Bai, which major are you in at Jiang University?” Assistant Wang politely inquired.

Shen Qing, looking down at the photos they had taken throughout the day, heard and answered for Bai Lian, “Alian has enrolled in the Department of Physics.”

Jiang University’s Department of Physics, one of the three premier majors.@@novelbin@@

The car quickly arrived at the Qingxin Building.

Mu Yining had arrived a few minutes early and was waiting for Ji Heng downstairs.

Assistant Wang parked the car at the entrance of Qingxin Building. Seeing Ji Heng in the passenger seat, she promptly opened the door for him, “Uncle, I am Yining.”

Ji Heng got out of the car, his brows and eyes filled with admiration, “You’ve grown up so much.”

Mu Yining pursed her lips and smiled, glancing to the side and pausing when she saw Bai Lian and Shen Qing getting out of the car.

After getting out of the car, Bai Lian saw Mu Yining looking over and slightly inclined her body to greet her, her half-tied black hair consequently spilling over her chest, “Hello.”

Mu Yining had seen Ren Wanxuan; although cultivated, she still couldn’t shake off an air of pettiness in every move she made.

In fact, aside from Shen Qing, everyone from the Ji family possessed an extraordinary demeanor.

Ren Wanxuan, however, seemed a bit out of place in the Ji family.

Mu Yining initially thought that Ji Shaojun’s other niece would be similar, but she couldn’t find anyone else in Jiangjing who could match Bai Lian’s appearance and demeanor.

The group arrived at the “Rain” character private room in Qingxin Building.

The room was difficult to book, and as soon as they entered, the staff served them tea and snacks.

Bai Lian obediently sat down next to Shen Qing, having already taken off her earpiece, and started to check the problems on an app on her phone.

Mu Yining sat next to Ji Heng, pouring him a cup of tea, reminiscing about some childhood anecdotes, her eyes occasionally drifting towards Bai Lian sitting opposite to her, slightly lost in thought.

The knock on the door rang again.

Assistant Wang went to open the door and was somewhat surprised, “Manager Pang?”

Because Mu Yining often booked the room for important guests, Assistant Wang had a membership card and naturally recognized the manager of Qingxin Building.

Qingxin Building was only second to Kangyu Tower in Jiangjing, favored by political and business elites for booking private rooms.

However, Assistant Wang wasn’t familiar with the staff at Qingxin Building, and neither he nor Mu Yining were at the level to warrant personal reception by the manager, so he was naturally surprised.

“Assistant Wang, I’ve brought some pastries for your private room,” Manager Pang allowed the staff behind him to enter, smiling, “These are the pastries we provide complimentary to our ‘Rain’ character room guests.”

The pastries from Qingxin Building were famous, much like the breakfast at Kangyu Tower.

Reservations were usually tough to get, and Assistant Wang watched the staff bring in the pastries, stepping aside.

The staff served the pastries to everyone at the table.

Bai Lian lowered her head, recognizing it as the same pastry she had extra last time when she and Jiang Fulai had a meal with Gao Yan. She lifted her head and the manager of Qingxin Building gave her a smile.

Ji Heng didn’t eat much, having spent the time talking to Mu Yining, his brow slightly furrowed, “How has your father been lately?”
