Chapter 274: Searching (1).
" I though you were quite sure they were going to be coming to the Abyss battlefield, but why have we not seen a trace of them yet?"
Astrid asked his face was already holding a frown
They have been searching for Alec and the rest of the Mages for so long and there has been no notable progress what so ever Enjoy more content from NovelBin.Côm
" You Should have just let my Mage continue with his divination spells, at least we would have gotten them faster now, where the hell do you think we would find them now ?"
Astrid Frown As He Looked at Kethra, at first the divination Mage had wanted to locate there position
And After Getting The Coordinates he had been able to link it to the fact that they were going to the Abyss battlefield and had asked them all to run straight to the Abyss battlefield
Using one of the fastest method so they would get there before Alec and James group did, that way they would lay an ambush on them,
Since all paths eventually lead to one road while going to the Abyss battlefield.
But while They have been waiting for Alec to show up, Alec group had decided to take a detour to the hunting grounds of the giant wolves
As Alec was really interested in killing a large amount of wolf beast, maybe even another Alpha so he can equip his whole squad with Tier 3 armour and weapon sets.
And this had cause a type of disappointing feeling for Astrid who had been on ambush almost all day
" You really have to believe me man, the Abyss battlefield is the place that’s they are meant to be, The man who made us there guide made sure we would lead them to the Abyss battlefield and dump. Them there "
When Astrid looked at Kethra this time the look in his face changed
" Wait you said this mages are a couple of Tier 2 mages right?"
" yes "
" Then why in the hell would anyone want to kill them this way in the first place, are they not to young to be thrown to the Abyss battlefield"
Astrid asked trying to find out the intention of the instructor that would have dropped them off at the Abyss Realm
Unaware that the same instructor he was perplexed about just happens to be his own instructor too
"Well, I guess we have to go back now then, and I would have to redo my divination spell as it’s clear that they are not coming here or along the way to the Abyss battlefield." the divination Mage said
"If we keep on waiting here, we would end up with nothing but wasting our time, We might even get attacked by another orc squad just as powerful as us, From our last expenditure, we wasted a lot of resources and our one-use treasure, and it’s clear that we have not been able to replace them back."
"Taking this mission from Kethra was with hope that we would recover those, and we already did, So I would implore that we all try our best to make him get what he wants."
The divination Mage, who had been incredibly pleased with Kethra, could not help but speak out for Kethra.
He had been incredibly grateful that he was given some freebies, but seeing their leader Astrid acting that way, he could already guess what was on his mind. @@novelbin@@
The various treasures that Astrid had brought out had caught his eye, but since they were given to his own group, he could not really act the way he normally would, being so hell-bent on taking others’ treasures.
He had been paranoid that they wouldn’t get to see the group of mages, and if that happens, he would be the only one to lose out on this deal, as he cut a separate deal with Kethra to divide the attributed power stone.
And that makes him responsible for this expenditure as much as Kethra, but Kethra didn’t mind when he paid for their services.
He had made it clear several times that he wanted revenge on this group of mages, and that’s why he was hell-bent on getting them.
"Tell me something, buddy, Don’t you think you should be including me too, sideways?" Astrid, who could no longer take it, blurted out his true feelings about wanting in on Kethra’s loot.
This statement made Kethra frown a little.
He was well aware of Astrid’s greed, but he wasn’t expecting him to act up at a crucial moment.
"What do you mean by that?, Are you trying to cut out of the main deal and leave everything else that is found to me?"
Though Kethra asked this with an angry expression, deep down inside he was feeling incredibly giddy.
As He desperately wanted Astrid to agree with his proposal.
"No!" Astrid exclaimed.
Confused, Kethra tried to clarify,
"Wait, let me understand this correctly, You want me to pay you like the rest of your boys, and yet you still want to share the majority of the earnings from my own job?, Are you trying to ruin my reputation as a skilled thief?, are you trying to take advantage of me here."
"I’m only willing to help because you mentioned that your ex-team leader, James, is involved, Though he may be stubborn, but he’s still a genius when it comes to cultivating."
" I doubt you have the ability to restrain him, Those restraining tools are expensive, and I’m guessing you’ve already used up your supply, Otherwise, you wouldn’t be seeking out a group like ours for a set of Tier 2 mages."
Astrid persisted,
"I won’t hesitate to attack this Tier 4 mage for you, while you and my group take care of the rest of the business."
Kethra snorted and looked at Keith in disgust.
"I don’t think I’ll be needing your help with that, We won’t have to restrain any Tier 4 Mage, as the time we planned to accommodate them has already passed, James and the other mages would have already moved on."
Astrid pondered for a moment before finally saying,
"Well, the offer still stands, We can’t be too careful, If we do happen to encounter them and I have to keep your old buddy James occupied, just know that you owe me one."

Meanwhile, elsewhere at the academy, the higher-ups were grappling with the dilemma of allowing a second-dimensional creature to stay at their school.
Though they were initially inclined to refuse, but since the creature hadn’t harmed anyone, they decided to at least listen to his request.
At the same time, the new Dean was engaged in a discussion with Alfred.
"What the heck is that creature doing here?, Ahh, you see what you’ve caused?, Now it wants to stay with me, I told you, let me sleep in peace!, But no, you wouldn’t agree."
" You’re so stubborn about assigning me to a job, Even the Old Dean never stressed me out like this, If it weren’t for that, I would have left the academy a long time ago,"
Elder Alfred complained with a disgruntled expression.
The academy had the power to restrain the Centaur and defeat him, but they were divided on how to handle the situation.
Mad Dog’s faction believed the Centaur should stay and violence should be avoided, while the second faction was determined to kill the Centaur and make it known that the War God Mage Academy does not tolerate second-dimensional creatures.
The new Dean sighed in defeat, never expecting something like this to happen during his temporary tenure.
"Alright then, I’ve made a decision, From now on, the Centaur will stay with Terran since he is familiar with him, and also The members of Mad Dog’s faction support this idea, and who better to take on the responsibility than Mad Dog’s most impressive disciple?"
"We all know that Alfred is an irresponsible Mage, Leaving him with such a responsibility alone is asking for trouble, He’s already had difficulties taking care of his new disciple, so it would be out of the question to burden him further," the New Dean countered.
Upon hearing that the Centaur would not be staying with him, Alfred felt a wave of joy wash over him.
On the other hand, Terran slumped down in his chair, contemplating what his future days would be like.
However, the Centaur didn’t seem to mind much.
He was okay with staying with Terran since he was more familiar with him than any other mage at the round table.
What do you think?
