Chapter 298: Conspiracy Part 2.
The Firebird carrying the Old Enforcer from the Ancient Blaze Clan and Aurora soared away from the city of Estonia, leaving it far behind them.
But Aurora could not help but gazed back at the city, reminiscing about her experiences with the small clan called Gordons.
Initially, she had looked down on them, but after living among them and being allowed to stay by the Grand Elder, she had found a sense of belonging.
She cherished the compassion that they shared for one another, something she had never truly felt in her proud Ancient Blaze Clan, after what happened with her brother.
It was remarkable how the small clan cared for and protected each of its members, a feeling that the Ancient Clans, which had existed for so long, could not comprehend, despite there long history.
"I apologize once again if any of my actions seemed out of place, I was simply following the old master’s instructions. You are someone the clan wishes to protect,"
" and if you are outside the region under the Blaze Clan’s command, we won’t be able to do so," the Old Enforcer bowed respectfully, despite his superior strength, explaining everything once again to Aurora.
"Grandpa Silas, I understand that you are just following orders, but the way you treated the clan which watched after me was unfair."
" However, that is in the past now. Tell me, if the clan truly tracked me down, why are you the only one sent to retrieve me?" Aurora inquired, aware of her clan’s ways.
The fact that her clan had finally located her meant that their rivals might have done so too.
The clan never endangered the lives of the younger generation they sought to protect, yet only the elderly Enforcer Silas had come to fetch her, a departure from their usual protocol.
"Well, I was close to this region. The old master had assigned different enforcers to different teams to cover more ground. Since it was difficult to pick up your trail, this was the fastest way to find you before any of our rivals received news of your whereabouts," explained Silas.
"So when they found out you fought against a beast wave, they contacted all the enforcers close by to get you out fast, I’m sure we’ll soon see new enforcers," Silas reassured her with a harmless smile.
"Watch out!!!" Aurora shouted, but it was too late.
As A sword light came rushing towards them.
Even without turning back, the Old Enforcer instantly cast a defensive spell.
[< High Tier Spell – Inferno Veil >]
A large red cover of flame rose and enveloped both Silas and Aurora, but suddenly they heard a chuckle.
"Bullseye!"
After hearing that voice, Silas had a sudden bad feeling as he realized that there was no force against the inferno veil he had cast.
"Shit, who dares attack us?, We are from the ancient Blaze Clan. I hope you know what you are doing!" Silas said trying to scare anybody that was attacking with the name of the Blaze Clan after all it always worked since not many clans would mess with Ancient Blaze.
But the next moment he heard the cry of the Firebird that was carrying them, and he finally realized that the attack he had defended against had never been meant for them but for the Demonic Firrebird mount carrying them in the first place.
It was also clear that the attacker knew a lot about him.
It was as if they were predicting that he would use the inferno veil to cover both himself and Aurora, but the veil made it impossible to see what was happening around them, serving both as a defensive ability and a way to confuse the enemy about the type of attack that would come next.
The inferno veil, a signature defense move that Silas had used during the Blood Moon War many times, was well-known.
But For someone in the outskirt cities of the Northern Kingdom to know his signature move, it began to seem as if they had put in efforts and a lot planning of to stall them here and that is why they took out there transportation first.
Otherwise, they would not have attacked the bird while he was covered in the veil.
"Young miss, when this veil comes off, I want you to take this ring, summon what is inside , and escape quickly if you feel things are not going our way. I have a bad feeling about this, and I hope you meet up with the other enforcers that have been sent to get you," Silas said as he pushed a ring into Aurora’s hands
"No. We will leave here together, Grandpa Silas. I can fight alongside you too," Aurora insisted.
"Listen to me properly. This situation seems too coordinated, and the fact that they have ideas about my signature spells means they have more information about you," Silas warned.
Bang!
The veil broke by itself as its duration ended, and what Silas faced seemed to seriously confuse him.
"Earth Magic!!!" a huge pillar of earth slammed into him, sending him off the body of the falling Firebird, which was seriously injured.
"Grandpa Silas!" Aurora screamed as she dashed towards Silas’s body, which had been smashed towards a nearby mountain.
"I told you to leave!" a flaming red light burst out from the broken mountain as Silas appeared, cladded completely in his Spirit Equipment set, and casted a spell.
[< High Tier spell – Meteor >]
Silas pushed his hand down, and it seemed as if the gravity of the area was drawing something down from the skies as a huge stone started falling with its edges covered in flame due to the speed at which it was descending.
[< High Tier spell – Earth Dome >]
Four men, covered in black clothing, appeared instantly and cast a combined spell, sending their mana to the ground and erecting a huge earth dome to cover them as the meteor fell.
"Hmm, why do you need to cover your faces? I can tell you all are members of the Gordons clan, I don’t know why you are acting, but I do know I will kill you all!"
Silas said as he placed more mental energy into rushing the descent of the meteor.
Bang! Smash!
The meteor finally landed, and even the earth dome was not enough to protect the mages from the attack as it flung them away.
"Come out, I know you are not dead yet!"
Silas said as Aurora stayed behind him, quite confused by all that was happening.
"It can’t be the Gordons clan attacking, Grandpa Silas. They would never do that. Their patriarch has way too much pride to sneak attack anyone," Aurora said.
"Wake up, Aurora. There is no other clan in this region that has the ability to gather four high-rank Earth mages, the Clans Higher up always believed they were hiding their powers," Silas explained.

"And that is why the clan has never wanted to deal with them, but here the evidence is right in front of us," Silas Concluded .
Silas turned towards Aurora and unsheathed the flaming-colored sword that was just at the waist of his spirit armor. @@novelbin@@
Clap!!
"Wonderful! That is actually the idea I want you to come up with, Since you can come up with that, it means others who come to investigate this will also think the same way."
"All that is left now is to kill you!"
Silas turned behind them and realized that someone was right on the mountain he had just come out from.
He had an idea that he knew the person, but he just couldn’t picture where he had seen him.
"Who the heck are you?" Aurora said.
"Tch! I am offended, Well, you are the clan’s princess, so you might not be aware of someone who do the dirty works of your clan, but you should know me, right Master Silas!"
"I remember you, You are the sixth elder of the Fridall clan!, Are you mad? You are joining hands with the Gordons clan to attack us," Silas said in a fit of rage.
"Tch! And still, you don’t know my name, only my title, Well, I can’t blame you, though, because you never take us from lower clans seriously, If not, you would know I would never work with the Gordons clan,"
the sixth elder of the Fridall clan said with exasperation.
"All this here is my plan to kill you all and blame it on the Gordons clan."
The Sixth Elder concluded his statement with a wild and hysterical laugh, but Silas was still looking at him, confused, which made him stop.
"You still don’t get the joke, Ha! It’s hard dealing with you. Just kill him and capture the girl," the sixth elder commanded, and the four mages that had just defended against the meteor finally sprang back into action.
This time, Silas could see their faces clearly, and he was dead sure that they were none of them from the Gordons clan.
What do you think?
