The Greece Antagonist

Chapter 458: Chapter 12 Teacher, you actually peeped at the girls bathing!

As evening fell and the dark curtain descended, the wilderness was shrouded in silence. Four fluorite lamps hung on either side of the chariot, flickering like will-o’-the-wisps, casting a ghostly cold light that illuminated the path ahead. The wheels thundered past, sounding like rolling thunder in the open air, startling nearby birds and wild animals which abruptly woke, causing a rustling noise in the surrounding bushes.

Ow-wooo!

In the cool moonlight, giant wolves the size of calves caught the scent of living humans, following the carriage. They leaped and bounded through the dense forests to either side and from behind, stirring up dust with their violent magic power. Trees blocking their way were shattered by a single swipe of their claws, sending white wood chips flying and leaving the air filled with the creaks and cracks of breaking wood.

The driver, Luo En, glanced at the pack of wolves lunging from both sides of the hill and casually drew his bronze longsword, channeling divine power into it. Several runes lit up on the blade, igniting a bloody red glow that swept across all directions with a ten-foot-long flame.

All the magic wolves within a hundred meters were instantly turned to ash, while the creatures at a distance were torn apart and burst open by the aftermath of his sword strikes, reduced to fragmented corpses and scattered chunks of flesh.

“Teacher, next time you act, please try to hold back a bit.”

Accompanied by a resentful mutter, Atalanta, dusty and disheveled, jumped down from the top of the carriage and sported a gloomy expression.

She’d just found an opportunity to practice but had not even notched an arrow when her teacher took out hundreds of magic wolves with a single strike.

“Sorry, sorry, I just changed bodies and haven’t quite mastered my strength yet.”

Looking at the dirty little “cat” before him, Luo En gave a dry laugh as he handed her a water bottle and a towel, while continuing to play with the bronze longsword in his hand to get used to its feel.

However, after only a few swings, the longsword “crack” broke in half. The detached tip flung backwards into the carriage, narrowly missing Medea’s scalp and embedding itself into the wooden board behind her.

Seeing a few strands of light purple hair drifting to the ground, Medea swallowed nervously, with a pale face looking weakly and pitifully at her senior brother.

Luo En couldn’t take the blame and quickly deflected it.

“The quality of this sword is too bad, right? Negative review! Definitely a negative review!”

“That’s because you infused it with too much divine power! It’s a silver piece bought from Hera; it’s not some divine armament. No matter how good its quality, it couldn’t withstand your constant misuse.”

Atalanta, arms crossed, sat to the side and bluntly exposed her teacher’s misdirection, before voicing the doubts she had in mind.

“Didn’t you bring several divine artifacts? Why use these ordinary items?”

“Haven’t I taught you? When you’re traveling, not only should you beware of magic beasts, but you also need to guard against your own kind. If I flaunted those around town, our journey wouldn’t be peaceful.”

Luo En rolled his eyes and patiently shared his valuable travel tips with Atalanta and Medea.

The saying “a person without guilt holding a jade invites crime,” and each of his divine artifacts was top quality. Showing them off directly would inevitably draw unwanted attention, attracting envious adversaries wave after wave.

You should know that not only do divine armaments, which are rare weapons, attract attention, but even the regular bronze armor worn by generals attracts the Greeks, who wouldn’t let it pass when they were cleaning up after a battle.

Killing an enemy and stripping them of their armor was a way to show off one’s martial prowess and collect honor.

Of course, they wouldn’t spare their own people either.

In the Trojan War, when the great hero Achilles died, his Greek allies Odysseus and Great Aeas argued over who should get Achilles’ armor, crafted by the God of Craftsmanship, Hephaestus. Great Aeas thought he deserved it because he fought to protect Achilles’ body and carried it back to camp; Odysseus argued that he too deserved the armor, since he intercepted enemies from the rear, and they both shared equal credit. Ultimately, thanks to Odysseus’ superior speaking skills and favor from Athena, he won the debate and got the armor. Great Aeas, feeling wronged and infuriated, planned to kill Odysseus in his sleep. Athena used a blinding technique which led Great Aeas to kill a flock of goats instead and, in shame, took his own life.

This bloodshed over a single piece of armor is proof of the harsh social mores and relatively low moral standards of the heroic age.

Luo En, although unafraid of challenges, hated trouble.

“`

To avoid unnecessary trouble on the road, it’s better to keep a low profile.

He had taught Atalanta and Medea the same.

The two young girls, despite their lack of social experience, were quite persuadable and cleverly stored the more eye-catching items they had on them into the Magic Circle Diagram.

Luo En nodded with satisfaction, continuing to drive the cart while casually asking.

“By the way, where have we reached now?”

“We’ve just passed the border of Arcadia, and there’s still over thirty kilometers to the Arcadian Mountains.”

Atalanta, familiar with the land, naturally replied.

Over thirty kilometers?

Luo En looked at the carcass of the magic wolf on the hillside behind them, frowning slightly.

To run out over thirty kilometers from its habitat to hunt on the main road? There seemed to be something off about this Beast Disaster.

“Let’s speed up and rest after we get over this mountain.”

Atalanta and Medea, who were accustomed to following Luo En’s suggestions, naturally nodded in agreement.

The carriage dashed along the road until the moon was high in the sky, when they finally stopped traveling. They chose a higher slope nearby to set up the warning magic and establish camp.

Once the major work was done, Atalanta pulled Medea to the side and said.

“Teacher, we’ll leave the rest to you; we’re going to the nearby river to take a bath.”

You couldn’t deny that feline creatures were quite fond of cleanliness, especially since, during the day’s travel, Atalanta had been covered in dust by her teacher’s ‘map cannon’. She now needed a good wash to remove the dirt from her body.

“Go on, go on, but remember to come back early for dinner after you’ve washed.”

Luo En waved them off, his demeanor edging towards that of a fussy old woman.

Atalanta, already making her way into the dense woods, didn’t forget to look back and warn him.

“Don’t follow us and peep!”

“When have I ever done such a shameless thing?”

“Circe teacher said that when you were little, you loved peeping at her bathing, and you always wanted to bathe with her. She told us to be very wary of you.”

“Slander! This is blatant slander!”

Luo En accused, dark-faced, wishing he could grab that stupid-bird teacher who talked behind his back and pluck her feathers clean.

Peeping at her bathing? It was clearly that woman who thought he was tiny and soft and cute, insisting on taking him with her to bathe.

And you think I’d be interested in you three bean sprouts who all together wouldn’t make up two catties of flesh? What’s there to see?

Luo En’s mind flickered with images of Circe, little Medea, and Atalanta’s barren chests as he spitefully criticized them in his thoughts, meanwhile shouting out an even more venomous punishment towards the two figures disappearing into the dense woods.

“`

“You two are going to miss dinner!”

He then returned to the camp, deftly made a fire, and set up a pot, ready to prepare a lavish dinner just for himself, so that when the two girls came back, they would be green with envy.

However, just as he finished cooking two dishes, a discordant female scream came from the distant dense forest.

That’s not good!

Luo En’s face changed, and he immediately activated the “Goat’s” Divine Speed, turning into a blur as he sprinted through the forest.

“Duck!”

Quickly reaching the riverbank, Luo En shouted loudly, drew his half-broken sword, lightly ran his right hand along the spine of the blade, inscribing several Hermes Scripts, and then hurled it forward with force.

The broken sword flew over the instinctively cowering girl in the middle of the river, towards the opposite bank, and disintegrated in mid-air into chunks of metal wrapped in a crimson glow, shooting fiercely into the bushes at several ferocious shadows of magic beasts.

“Puff! Puff! Puff! Puff!”

For a moment, the dull sound of blades piercing flesh was unending as blood spattered from the heads of several magic beasts that popped out on the other bank, collapsing thunderously to the ground.

As the threat was neutralized, the terrified girl threw herself into Luo En’s arms, shivering and whispering softly.

“Brother…”

“?”

Luo En was taken aback, his expression slightly stiff.

Something’s not right with the address, and the size seems off too?

Immediately, he instinctively pulled the head out of his embrace and looked down.

Under the moonlight, to his surprise, was a pitifully charming face, with long golden hair like fragrant wheat sheaves, skin so fair it seemed it could be broken with a touch, a body with perfectly divine proportions that brought out an inborn allure, and such exquisite beauty that one couldn’t help but feel an urge to protect her.

Lastly, seeing the two large, wobbling ‘thunders’ on the girl’s chest, the heart that Luo En had been holding gave out completely.

At the same time, a beat too late, the blonde girl who realized something was amiss went from befuddled to astonished, and from astonished to shocked, finally opening her mouth to let out a high-pitched scream.

“Aah!”

The sudden soprano pierced into his ears, causing a painful buzz, and Luo En numbly raised his hand to cover his ears.

When the piercing voice died down, he was just about to speak in explanation, when two furious roars came from behind him.

“Bastard!”

“Let go of my sister!”

Following that, two sharp sword lights stabbed from behind, arriving in an instant, aiming straight for Luo En’s head and heart.

Sensing the imminent threat, Luo En stomped hard on the ground with his right foot, using the rebound force to leap up high and reach the other side of the river.

“Don’t think about escaping!”

“Let her go!”

Seeing their sister being taken, the two from behind immediately drew their swords and gave chase.

Having successfully created some distance, Luo En yelled out.

“Stop! Look around you first!”

The two pursuers instinctively looked down and were shocked to discover the corpses of several magic wolves lying among the bushes at their feet.

Taking advantage of the momentary stun of the two on the other side, Luo En hurriedly clarified.

“This is a misunderstanding, I came to rescue her.”

“Yes, that’s right, brother, he saved me just now.”

At this moment, the previously shaken girl in Luo En’s arms also raised her head, stuttering out an explanation.

Realizing it was a misunderstanding, the two across from him awkwardly sheathed their swords and introduced themselves.

“Castor…”

“Polydeuces…”

“We apologize for the misunderstanding, sir, and thank you for saving my sister’s life.”

Listening to the introduction from the brothers in front of him, Luo En’s expression froze.

Gemini Palace?

Damn it, I haven’t even started the job and you’re trying to chop me up. You Twins from the Zodiac really live up to your legendary reputation.

Wait, if these two are the Twins from his memory, then the girl in his arms is…

With that thought, Luo En turned his somewhat stiff neck and looked down at the blonde girl in his arms.

“He-Helen…”

The girl answered timidly, involuntarily snuggling deeper into Luo En’s embrace.

At the same time, the sound of hasty rustling came from the woods, and two figures sprinted down from the upstream of the river, arriving at the scene of the incident, looking astounded at the tightly embraced man and woman across the river.

The atmosphere turned weird in an instant.

Atalanta, drenched in vapor, pulled the thinly clad Medea behind her and spoke in a haunting voice.

“Teacher, I didn’t expect you to be that sort of man.”

“…”@@novelbin@@

Facing the accusation, the alleged culprit looked at the conclusive evidence in his arms with a face full of despair.
