Chapter 849: Chapter 32: Selling Yourself? A Young Girl?
“Puff puff!”
The two soul-eating spiders in mid-air exploded with a bang, turning into a sky full of flesh chunks, their highly corrosive bodily fluids splattered everywhere, landing on the ground and emitting pungent white smoke.
The Dark Elves scrambled to evade, while looking towards the figure that suddenly leaped from the ground, with a mix of shock and anger:
“There’s an ambush!”
“He killed Lord Rose’s Favored! The Queen will kill us!”
“Get him together, take him down!”
Seeing dozens of silver-haired, dark-skinned creatures, brandishing weapons and charging at him furiously, the corners of Luo En’s mouth twitched again.
He was just sleeping peacefully at the bottom of the lake when, out of nowhere, some yob must have rudely kicked him awake.
And the moment he opened his eyes, he saw two huge spiders leaping onto his face, bare fanged and clawed.
Having dealt with the two unfortunate creatures that jumped on his face, here comes a group of Dark Elves rushing to fight him to the death…
Why is it that no matter what, trouble keeps knocking at his door?
While grumbling inwardly, Luo En’s face darkened as he stepped forward with his right foot.
A triangle of protection formed by Runes immediately lit up from the ground, constructing an intersecting three-dimensional Defensive Charm.
Arrows, Cursed Bullets, Short Daggers, and various other attacks from the Dark Elves all struck the barrier, only causing brief ripples, utterly failing to break through.
Watching the Dark Elves swarming around the light screen, frantically bashing and striking, Luo En cleared his throat, attempting to reason with them:
“Listen to what I have to say…”
“Listen to your XX!”
A few irate Dark Elves cursed as they brought out an Obsidian sculpture, muttered words over it, and then smashed it forward.
It was a three-inch-tall creation, like a clump of mud, with eight vigorous tentacles extending from within and a gem-like blood-red eyeball embedded in its body, both bizarre and nauseating.
“Watch out for the Wax Melting Demon!”
A crisp reminder came from behind, and Luo En glanced at the anxious, golden-haired Elf Girl holding her right arm.
“[ᚨ],[k]…”
Instantly, Runes representing Divine Word, Flames, and Light appeared before him, and then shot towards the Wax Melting Demon and the surrounding Dark Elves in mid-air.
For a moment, there was a thunderous roar, and dust filled the air.
The mud-like creature, smeared with sparks, let out a sharp wail, its body burst into fierce flames, writhing and twisting on the ground like an attacked Snake Python.
The dozens of surrounding Dark Elves fared even worse; as soon as they made contact with the Runes, they instantly burst into flying chunks of flesh.
“Puff~”
Moments later, the six-foot-tall Wax Melting Demon was roasted into a pool of blackish gelatinous substance, gradually merging with the earth.
“Gurgle~”
The golden-haired Elf Girl, who was ready to fight to the end, instinctively gulped, looking in horror at the scene that resembled Hell, and the terrifying man who had instantly wiped out a squad of Dark Elves and a Wax Melting Demon.
He had been asleep for too long and hadn’t controlled his strength properly.
Luo En glanced at the flesh strewn across the ground, shook his head, then turned to the golden-haired Elf Girl behind him:
“Was it you who kicked me just now?”
The Elf Girl instinctively nodded, then violently shook her head, tensing her body instinctively, readying a defensive stance.
Seeing this, Luo En couldn’t help but smile wryly:
“Don’t be nervous, I’m not petty enough to kill someone just for a kick, what’s your name?”
The golden-haired Elf Girl slightly relaxed, carefully answering:
“Celebrian…”
Luo En’s eyelid twitched, as if casually asking:
“Sounds nice, does it have any meaning in your Elvish language?”
“It means ‘girl crowned with a beautiful diadem’, given to me by my mother.”
“According to the traditions of your Elves, you should have your father’s name as well, right?”
“Atanis, my father hopes for me to grow into a ‘Lady’.”
The golden-haired Elf Girl answered sincerely, gradually letting down her guard in the peaceful atmosphere of the conversation.
However, at this moment, Luo En’s heart surged with waves of shock.
Celebrian… the girl crowned with a beautiful diadem… It’s her.
The Princess of the Noldor, one of the three Elven tribes, the future Elf Queen!
But this character is not recorded in the Norse mythology but originated from a story in Luo En’s mind, created from a mixture of Norse and Celtic mythologies.
Its name is—”The Lord of the Rings”.
Something’s not right, something’s not right…
Luo En’s brow furrowed, his mind churning with thoughts.
Hela, Odin’s eldest daughter; the Durins of Midgard World; the Twin Holy Trees and the Golden Forest of Alfheim; and this golden-haired Elf Girl named “Celebrian”…
All of them significantly differed from the original Norse mythology.
If one or two discrepancies could be coincidences, then behind three or four, there must be a reason.
So, are the memories and knowledge I possess subtly influencing and changing the entire Nordic World?
As the answer emerged, Luo En’s face hardened, and he immediately thought of a possibility.
—The Divinity War!
In the battle of wills against Olvir, although he had emerged victorious, the collision of divinity might have imprinted his knowledge and memories, foreign to this World, into the Fate of the Nordic World through Olvir, [the Eternal Law].
Or perhaps, someone had used the remnants of his divinity, trying to establish a connection between him and this World, thereby controlling his Fate!
If such changes continued, his connection to this World would inevitably deepen step by step, and in the end, he might truly become “Loki” and perish alongside the Pantheon of Gods in the twilight of the gods.
It seems, it was necessary to thoroughly investigate this matter.
What do you think?
