Chapter 852: Chapter 33 I’m Still a Little Girl, Please Be Gentle with Me_2

After all, having inadvertently slept for hundreds of years, he needed some time to familiarize himself with his own body and retrieve the sensations of the past.

Otherwise, like when he had just awoken, he might accidentally exert too much force and smash the person he was trying to save into pieces, which would be a complete loss.

He raised his hand to draw a Rune, and a bunch of withered branches on the ground ignited into bright yellow Flames.

Luo En clapped his hands in satisfaction, preparing to sit down, but Celebrian, who was tossed aside, stormed over with a fierce momentum:

“You’re not Human at all!”

“Did I ever say I was?”

Luo En retorted with annoyance, his eyes full of mockery.

Elves are a self-confident and arrogant race, inherently imbued with a sense of superiority, and obviously, Celebrian was plagued with this nasty habit and consequently stumbled because of it.

“Liar!” Celebrian muttered under her breath, her face full of unwillingness and annoyance.

The thought that the guy in front of her might live longer than she made her hang her head like a defeated rooster, feeling gloomy about her future.

After wallowing in despondency for a moment, Celebrian regained her spirits and tentatively asked her debtor:

“Can we change it to a three-hundred-year agreement?”

“No!”

Luo En flatly refused and then disdainfully looked at the Elf Girl in front of him,

“You’re at least an adult, you should be responsible for your words and actions!”

“Who says I’m an adult? I’m only thirty-five!”

A certain flat-chested Elf wrinkled her delicate nose and corrected him discontentedly.

Luo En was momentarily stunned and then remembered Elves grew differently from the children of other races.

Before the age of three, they grew like Human children, but afterward, their growth slowed down. By the age of twenty, an Elf would appear like a seven-year-old Human child. And only at fifty, would they be considered adults.

According to Human age, Celebrian was about twelve or thirteen.

So, have I abducted an Elf loli?

Seeing her debtor somewhat absent-minded, Celebrian thought he was hesitating, and with hope flickering in her eyes, she persisted:

“So, can it be changed?”

“You’re a noble Elf, how could you do something like breaking an agreement?”

“…”

Celebrian, proud and self-respecting, was stimulated by these words and had nothing to say, just squatting on the ground drawing circles, cursing that certain debtor to be taken by the Death God Hela soon, so that she could escape the sea of misery.

Hearing the name Celebrian was muttering, Luo En’s eyelids twitched and his forehead sweated slightly.

Damn it, I forgot to set a reminder before sleeping, and neglected to visit Hela regularly.

It’s been over a hundred years, I really don’t know how my pupil’s character has twisted.

With this thought, Luo En, guilty as a thief, felt his throat go dry and casually asked:

“By the way, how’s Helheim doing now?”

Hearing this, Celebrian thought her behind-the-back curse for the debtor to die early was caught and her body stiffened, her gaze flitting as she answered:

“It’s good, everything’s good.”

“It’s that good, do you want to take a tour there?”

Luo En’s face darkened as he coldly inquired,

“Forget it, tell me about Death Goddess Hela, has she made any major moves in recent years?”

Sensing her debtor’s discontent, Celebrian quickly steadied her mind and honestly relayed the information she knew.

After taking over Helheim, Death Goddess Hela successively recruited the departed souls “Modgud”, Hellhound “Glam”, and other monsters, and gradually set up the framework of the Netherworld, establishing the order of the World of Death.

Hela was gathering all sorts of departed souls daily. Whether they had died of natural causes or had been wicked in Life, she accepted them all. Those who died naturally and peacefully were treated rather kindly by Hela and were incorporated into the Netherworld. As for those wicked departed souls, Hela practically threw them to the Poison Dragon “Nidhogg” for food, to prevent it from gnawing at the roots of the World Tree.

Listening to this, Hela’s days sounded happy and fulfilling, but Luo En’s brows gradually furrowed.

Gathering departed souls and establishing the Netherworld system meant that Hela had likely discovered the truth about her exile, knowing there was no hope of returning to Asgard, and thus, she managed Helheim as her own territory, choosing to dwell in that land of Death forevermore.

What’s worse, the Nordic World has no concept of immortality.

Life has an end, and the gods have their twilight.

Are all souls after Death to be managed by her?

Hearing this question, Celebrian shook her head and explained:

“Not at all, only the weak who die a normal Death fall into the Netherworld ruled by Hela, whereas warriors who die gloriously on the battlefield will be led by the Valkyries to the Heroic Spirit Hall, receive blessings from Great God Odin, and become Heroic Spirit Warriors, enjoying songs, wine, and battle day and night.”

I see.

Luo En nodded thoughtfully.

Currently, the laws of Death in the Nordic World operate with two separate systems, gloriously fallen spirits enter Valhalla, the Heroic Spirit Hall, to become Heroic Spirit Warriors under the dominion of Odin; while souls that die in other ways enter Hela’s jurisdiction in the Netherworld.

Father and daughter each have control over some of the souls, together constructing a complete order of life and Death.

But, the devil is in the details.

Luo En did not have to think to know that the relationship between Odin and Hela as father and daughter was already very tense, if not completely severed.

In a sense, both Hela and the Netherworld had completely escaped Odin’s control.
