Chapter 835: 415 Face slap_2
Agave Rinto said indifferently, “An internal traitor is the hardest to guard against. Do you still have the nerve to beg for mercy in front of me?”
Silvia Hayes choked, her face turning paler.
“Master McKay, currently, public opinion on the internet is in our favor. However, with Finnian Moore still in their hands, the situation becomes extremely unfavorable for us.”
Agave Rinto sneered, “In the same way she took him away, she’ll bring him back.”
Agave Rinto strode into the living room which was empty and no trace of Linden Sky could be found.
Butler Rinto found it rather strange, “Could he be upstairs? With so many guards on patrol in the Rinto house, how could someone disappear under our noses without a sound?”
...
Silvia Hayes, who followed in, suddenly had a glint in her despondent eyes. She dashed towards the second floor, “I’ll find him.”
With that, she sprinted up the second floor.
She stopped a passing servant, “Have you seen Linden Sky?”
The servant shook his head in confusion.
After checking every room, Silvia Hayes was about to walk into the room at the far end when the servant hurriedly stopped her.
“Miss Hayes, that is Mistress Rinto’s room…”
Silvia Hayes sneered, “Just a dead person.”
Just as she was about to push the door open, a cold male voice came from behind her, “Stop.”
Silvia Hayes turned around, “Cousin…”
Agave Rinto marched over, his cold pupils were terrifying, “Dead?” @@novelbin@@
Silvia Hayes felt goosebumps, “I’m sorry, cousin, I was wrong.”
“The person you should apologize to is not me.”
Silvia Hayes grumbled inwardly. Was she expected to apologize to a dead person? What a joke.
At this moment, Finnian walks over and whispered something into Agave’s ear. Agave narrowed his eyes and turned to leave.
Silvia Hayes had good hearing and thought she heard the name Aubree Groove.
She no longer cared about Linden Sky and quickly chased after them.

Vanessa Aria drank three glasses of water, just as her anger was on the edge, the door to the reception room was pushed open from the outside.
His shirt was slightly unbuttoned, revealing his sexy throat and collarbone, enticing beyond measure.
Vanessa Aria sneered, “Mr. Brian, you’ve been quite busy. It’s really a challenge to get an audience with you.”
“I’ve been tied up with numerous projects and have been in meetings all day. I just got a chance to catch my breath. Please forgive me if I have neglected you, Ms. Aria.”
As the saying goes, don’t hit a smiling man. Vanessa Aria’s anger turned into an out-of-air balloon in front of this smiling face.
This company, although young, has proven its strong capacity through its achievements.
With this, half of her worries were eased.
“This novel, ‘Wind on the Clouds’, is my painstaking effort. I trusted Mr. Brian enough to sign over all copyrights of the novel to him. I hope Mr. Brian won’t disappoint me.”
“Of course not, our CEO really likes this novel ‘Wind on the Clouds’. She was instrumental in adapting it to the big screens. Funding and team are already in place. The director is the renowned Huji Scott. We had planned to conduct an audition. However, due to some personal issues of the CEO, the event might be postponed.” Kelly Martinez sipped her tea and spoke calmly.
Hearing Huji Scott’s name, Vanessa Aria put down her other half of the worry.
“Can I view the script first?”
Kelly Martinez opened the drawer, took out a file, and handed it to Vanessa Aria.
The script had only one climax. A few thin pages depicted intense love, hatred, and hardships. Compared with William Wilson’s writing, it was more exquisite and atmospheric, with constantly rising climaxes and deep emotions. It was more engaging and strongly visual than the novel.
Vanessa Aria was somewhat surprised: “Who is the screenwriter? I’d like to meet them.”
“It seems Ms. Aria is very satisfied with the adaptation.”
“It’s really good. It seems that the screenwriter is indeed a fan of my books. They’ve completely captured the core philosophy of my novel and have adapted it very well.”
No matter how picky Vanessa Aria was, she couldn’t find any fault with the script. To be blunt, it was even better than her novel.
An unexpected boon for Vanessa Aria.
The popularity of the novel was due to its novel release timing that capitalized on the popularity of modern martial arts novels. Secondly, the characters in the novel were creative. The female protagonist was an antagonist, standing out amongst the naive and innocent heroines of contemporary novels. Both the male protagonist and the secondary male character were uniquely charming. Thirdly, the novel was heart-wrenchingly tragic, a quality readers enjoyed back then, where the more tragic the story, the more it was loved.
It was these strengths that concealed the novel’s shortcoming – weak writing. There were readers who complained back then that the writing felt like it was done by a grade-schooler. During the second publication, the whole text was revised and was suspected of being done by a ghostwriter. However, as the novel gained popularity and was hailed as a masterpiece of new-style martial arts, people gradually stopped talking about it.
What do you think?
