Chapter 960
Chapter 960: 457 Bell_1 Chapter 960: 457 Bell_1 Night fell, and the entire Little Town was covered in starlight.
Every household was brightly lit, with the occasional dog bark echoing from afar, adding a touch of tranquility to the town.
Across the street, the fruit store owner squatted at the entrance, a bowl in his hand while a mongrel dog circled around him.
The dog’s mouth was open, its tongue hanging out, and its eyes were eager with anticipation.
The owner spat out the bone he’d been gnawing on into the flower bed by the road.
Seeing the dog scramble anxiously for it, a grin spread across the man’s face at this successful tease.
“Stupid dog.”
Suddenly, he froze, noticing a figure standing at the entrance of the diner across the road.
The person was dressed all in black, almost blending seamlessly into the night.
Blinking, the person had disappeared.
For reasons unknown, a shudder ran down his spine.
Just then, the mongrel began to bark, triggering a domino effect.
In an instant, all the dogs in Little Town joined in, their cacophony headache-inducing and subconsciously evoking unease.
The owner, cradling his bowl, hurried back into his store, waving at the dog, “Come back here, be a good dog.”
The dog, wagging its tail, suddenly darted towards the diner across the street. The owner jolted, rushing out to call after him, “Come back here, stupid dog.”
Why was the usually obedient dog acting out of control now?
At the sound of the dogs’ barking, Norman Capris felt a shiver down his spine.
Suddenly, his phone rang, startling him into standing up.
Realizing it was his phone, Norman glanced at it and quickly answered.
“Finnian, we’re rich!
We really got ten million but man, it’s so heavy, I have to drag it…
haha…”, a young man buzzed excitedly on the other end.
Norman visibly relaxed, realizing the person was indeed wealthy, he had bet on the right horse.

“Hide the money for now, wait for my instructions, remember, don’t try to run.
You may outrun a monk but not his temple.”
“Don’t worry, Finnian.
I know, there’s meat on the bone when I follow you.”
Norman glanced at the time: “Hide for now, in half an hour, go to the next place.”
The voice on the other end became alert; “Finnian, there aren’t any cops tailing me, right?”
“She wouldn’t dare report us to the police.”
Norman was confident about that.
Ending the call, he looked down at the bound captives.
Norman lit a cigarette, his brow furrowed deeply.
At this point, he couldn’t afford to consider much.
“Brother Power, it’s me.”
“You little shit, you dare to contact me, you’ve screwed me over.” An angry young man’s voice came through the phone.
“Sorry, Brother Power, I was wrong.
I apologize.”
“What’s your sorry worth?
I was about to get killed because of you.
Where are you?
Get out here now.”
“Brother Power, I’ll pay back all my debts with interest, but first, I need you to do me a favor.”
The man on the other side laughed incredulously.
“You’ve got the nerve to ask for my help?”
Norman, undeterred, responded, “If I die, you’ll get nothing.
I’d like to see how you explain that to your boss.”
“You dare to threaten me?”
“I’m just looking out for you, Brother Power.”
“Hmph.
What do you want?”
“What?
Help you flee the country?
Are you crazy?
Smuggling is illegal.”
Norman took a hard drag on his cigarette: “Don’t think I don’t know about those secret deals you’ve been making.
If you push me too far, none of you are getting away.”
The man on the other end was clearly agitated: “What are you talking about?”
“Isn’t it true?
Those smuggling operations you’re running, don’t think I don’t know.”
“Shut up.”
The man took a deep breath: “Fine, I’ll do you this favor, but before that, you need to settle your debt with me.”
“Deal.”
Madon Linggo had been awake for a while.
When he realized he had been drugged and kidnapped, he was at a loss for words.
Despite being wise his whole life, he had capsized in the gutter and even implicated Dr.
Aria.
After reviewing the situation, he quietly listened to the man on the phone, piecing together the situation.
With both hands and feet tied, his current situation was passive.
Facing fugitives, he had to save himself.
Just then, Old Granny’s voice came from downstairs.
An alarmed Clydie shook her head while Matilda Wilson widened her eyes in fear.
Norman scanned his captives before confidently walking out.
“Granny.” Norman stood on the second floor, looking at Old Granny in the courtyard.
Old Granny had her hands behind her back, her back slightly hunched.
What do you think?
