Chapter 965: 458 Refusal_3 Chapter 965: 458 Refusal_3 “”Madon Linggo.”
“Sergeant Linggo.” Officer Felix Grant replied shyly, “It was my fault for not recognising your greatness.
I almost misunderstood you.
I hope you don’t take it to heart.
I am unworldly, and I must have made a fool of myself to you.”
Madon Linggo hated people who changed their attitude so quickly, “Call your chief.”
Officer Grant’s heart skipped a beat.
Reluctantly, he took out his phone.
“Felix Grant you rascal, did you forget my words?
I told you not to call me after 8 PM, I am busy, get lost.” The chief cursed and immediately hung up.
An eerie silence permeated the air.
Officer Grant stole a glance at Madon Linggo, “Um…
sorry Sergeant, our chief…
he’s pretty busy at night.”
Madon Linggo burst into laughter, “Your rank isn’t big but your ego certainly is.Let’s go, we’ll head to your station.”
When he had arrived today, he noticed that the town’s security was quite good.
But it wasn’t due to the efforts of the local police, but rather the local customs.
Officer Grant nervously sneaked a peek at Norman Capris, “Sergeant, what did he do?”
“Kidnapping, extortion, murder.”
Officer Grant gasped in shock.
Four Seasons Town had simple folk.
The most they usually dealt with were petty thieves and youngsters getting into brawls.
These crimes were unheard of in their town.
And the fact that the deputy head of Pethkids’ Criminal Police Squad had personally come to investigate spelt a big case.
His year-end assessment was doomed.
So was his chief.
As they exited the restaurant, Norman Capris abruptly shoved Officer Grant and started running.
Officer Grant stumbled and fell down.
Norman Capris sprinted ahead like a madman.
Madon Linggo clicked his tongue, “Why bother now?”
Picking up a small stone from the ground, Madon Linggo weighed it in his hand and quickly threw it.
The stone hit Norman Capris in the back of the knee.
Norman Capris screamed and fell to the ground.
Officer Grant suddenly felt a sharp pain in his knee and his legs involuntarily trembled.
Norman Capris still stubbornly tried to crawl farther ahead.
In the dimly lit night, a blue luxury sports car was parked by the road with its door half-open, obstructing Norman Capris’ path.
Norman Capris was stunned as he looked up.
“Oh, isn’t that the famous Sergeant Linggo?
Even a small thief requires you to personally catch him.
Seems like this thief is quite amazing.”
The man’s voice was somewhat androgynous, layered with a scornful laugh.
Madon Linggo stared at him, then suddenly laughed.
“Mr.
Brian, long time no see.”
Kelly Martinez crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow, “I’m doing well, but it looks like Sergeant Linggo is not.”
“Mr.
Brian, you’re joking.
I have things to tend to, so I must leave.”
As soon as he finished talking, he briskly walked over and grabbed Norman Capris by the collar, hauling him away.
Officer Grant hurriedly followed behind him, stealing a glance at Kelly Martinez.
Seeing her smiling yet not smiling expression, Felix Grant jumped in surprise and quickly scrambled after Madon Linggo.
After taking a few steps, Madon Linggo glanced back at the man leaning against the sports car in the dark night.
His overly slim figure cast an unusually delicate silhouette against the night.
Madon Linggo frowned, preparing to leave when he spotted a black off-roader parked on the side of the road ahead.
It had Pethkids license plates.
Madon Linggo left without any change in his expression.
Kelly Martinez walked over and knocked on the car window, “Stop pretending, I saw you a long time ago.”
The car window slid down, revealing a handsome young man’s face.
Kelly Martinez had an ‘I knew it was you’ expression.
“What are you doing sneaking around back here?”
The young man pursed his lips, “I…”.
“What ‘I’?
You’re not much different than a stalk stalker always lurking around Aubree Groove.”
Anton Cook paused, realizing he had been led by the nose.
He straightened up, giving her a cold glance.
“And what about you?
What’s your relationship with Aubree Groove?
Don’t you know men and women should keep their distance?”
Kelly Martinez grinned, “You’re so amusing.
Don’t you know my relationship with her?
Fine, I’ll tell you today.
I’m the person she trusts the most and closest to.
Can you beat that?”
Anton Cook huffed, “I don’t believe it.”
Kelly Martinez clucked, “Still a child, I see.”
Unexpectedly this remark hit Anton Cook’s sore spot, “You’re the child.”
Kelly Martinez’ eyes twinkled, “Anton Cook, isn’t your contract with Aspenite Entertainment about to expire?
Why not sign with our company when it does?
What’s that saying?
Being near to something grants benefits, you must understand this.”
Kelly Martinez’ gaze was filled with hidden meanings.
What do you think?
