The Hidden Dragon In-Law

Chapter 8 – Sixty million shares!

The next morning, Mary Xiao, armed with the partnership proposal she had prepared overnight, accompanied James Ye to the Dihao Group headquarters.

Standing before the towering hundred-story skyscraper of the Dihao Group, Mary felt utterly out of her depth.

How could such a colossal company like Dihao Group ever take notice of the Xiao Family?

Not to mention the Xiao Family's audacious hope of securing a thirty million share.

It was like a beggar dreaming of asking a tycoon for thirty million in charity—pure fantasy.

But since she had promised her grandmother and publicly taken on this task, she was determined to give it her best shot...

Seeing her anxiety, James Ye tenderly adjusted her hair and comforted her, "Don't worry, honey. Just go and talk to them. You'll definitely succeed."

Mary replied helplessly, "I hope so! Wait for me here."

With that, she took a deep breath and mustered her courage to step through the grand doors of the Dihao Group.

James watched her enter, then took out his phone and called Margaret Wang.

"Margaret, my wife has gone up. You know what to do next."

Margaret Wang promptly responded, "Don't worry, Young Master Ye. I'll make sure the Young Lady is satisfied."

James Ye then inquired, "By the way, I heard that Dihao Group has deep ties with the Zhang Family?"@@novelbin@@

Margaret confirmed, "They used to have significant collaborations with Dihao, and they're keen on a deep partnership for our new project. They're submitting their proposal to me, but it's ultimately up to you, Young Master Ye."

James Ye replied coldly, "For this new project, I don't want to see the Zhang Family involved. No further cooperation with them in the future."

Margaret assured him, "Rest assured, I'll handle it!"

Meanwhile, Mary Xiao entered the Dihao Group's office building and waited at the reception, not even sure if Vice Chairman Margaret Wang would be willing to see her.

Soon, a graceful female assistant approached her, "Are you Ms. Mary Xiao? Vice Chairman Wang is waiting for you in her office. Please follow me."

Mary nodded, puzzled about being summoned without even having to schedule an appointment. Could Margaret Wang have known she was coming?

But that seemed impossible... How could someone as renowned as Margaret Wang know her?

Despite her confusion, Mary knew this was an opportunity not to be missed and quickly followed the assistant.

The assistant led Mary straight to Margaret Wang's office.

Upon seeing Mary, Margaret Wang rose from her chair and greeted her respectfully, "Hello, Ms. Xiao. I'm Margaret Wang, Vice Chairman of the Dihao Group."

Facing the renowned businesswoman of Jinling, Mary was somewhat nervous but spoke respectfully, "Hello, Vice Chairman Wang. I'm here to discuss a potential hotel project. The Xiao Family may not be very powerful overall, but we are truly dedicated and well-regarded in the renovation business!"

With that, she nervously handed over a document, "Vice Chairman Wang, here's an introduction to the Xiao Group and our qualifications. Please take a look."

Margaret Wang smiled, brows arched, and after briefly scanning the document, she said, "Ms. Xiao, I've looked at your materials, and I think the Xiao Family can collaborate with Dihao."

"Really? Are you serious?" Mary could hardly believe her ears.

How could it be this simple?

Margaret Wang smiled, "Of course, it's true. While the Xiao Family's conditions don't meet Dihao Group's usual standards, our chairman sees potential in Ms. Xiao and is willing to work with you."

"The chairman?" Mary exclaimed, asking, "May I know who your chairman is?"

Margaret Wang smiled faintly, "Our chairman is Young Master Ye from the Ye Family of Yanjing."

"Young Master Ye?"

Mary frowned, "I don't think I know anyone with the surname Ye, other than my husband."

Margaret nodded slightly, as James Ye had instructed her not to reveal too much about his identity.

Aside from James Ye, Mary truly didn't know anyone else with the surname Ye, but it never crossed her mind that her husband, who came from an orphan background and seemed to have nothing to his name, was the very Young Master Ye mentioned.

Margaret Wang then said, "Ms. Xiao, I see that you've listed a desired partnership share of thirty million in your documents?"

Mary quickly nodded, asking with uncertainty, "Is that too much?"

Margaret Wang chuckled, "Not at all, it's actually too little."

Mary was even more baffled and asked, "What do you mean?"

Margaret Wang explained, "Our chairman instructed me to raise the partnership share to sixty million."

As she spoke, Margaret Wang presented a contract, "Take a look, the contract is already prepared for sixty million. If you find it acceptable, we can sign it right now."

"What? This..."

Mary was stunned.

She could never have imagined that the Dihao Group, which the Xiao Family had thought beyond their reach, would proactively prepare a contract for her!

And the contract amount was doubled!

Her grandmother's goal was thirty million, yet the contract stated sixty million!

Suddenly, she remembered how her husband, James Ye, had insisted she take on this task the night before with such confidence.

Why was he so sure of himself?

And earlier, at the entrance of the Dihao Group, she had felt so uncertain, yet he seemed utterly confident.

Could he have known the outcome all along?

Who exactly was he…
