If the son-in-law remembered to bring wine, it meant he understood propriety and also that he cared about his wife. Otherwise, why would Gu Ya remember to bring wine to pay respects to Yunjin’s father?

After accepting the wine, Mrs. Shen once again instructed Gu Ya to have a meal in the kitchen. Su Yunjin followed Gu Ya to the kitchen, while a happy Mrs. Shen took the wine to her husband, Su Zhongshi.

“No, mother said that your Second Sister’s matter is important and also told us to stay at the Su Family for a couple more days,” Gu Ya answered without looking up at his young wife.

Having asked her question and having received an answer, Su Yunjin did not inquire further but continued to keep Gu Ya company until he finished his meal.
